Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil survei evaluasi layanan bagi mahasiswa Universitas Terbuka (UT) di luar negeri, dengan fokus pada tingkat kepuasan dan implikasinya terhadap peningkatan kualitas layanan. Urgensi penelitian ini terletak pada kebutuhan UT untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan jarak jauh mahasiswa di UT layanan luar negeri, yang menghadapi tantangan aksesibilitas dan dukungan akademik. Survei meliputi aspek aksesibilitas, responsivitas, kualitas materi pembelajaran, dan dukungan administratif, dengan hasil yang menunjukkan variasi tingkat kepuasan di berbagai aspek. Berdasarkan hasil survei, mayoritas responden merasa puas dengan layanan yang tersedia, meskipun ada beberapa area yang dapat ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi area yang perlu diperbaiki dan memberikan rekomendasi strategis untuk peningkatan layanan, seperti peningkatan aksesibilitas platform pembelajaran, penyediaan dukungan akademik yang andal dan responsif, percepatan layanan administratif, penyediaan panduan yang jelas, serta pengembangan materi pembelajaran yang relevan dan interaktif. Implementasi rekomendasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas layanan UT bagi mahasiswa luar negeri dan memperkuat kepuasan mereka dalam mengikuti pendidikan jarak jauh. Luaran dari penelitian ini berupa pemetaan tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa serta rekomendasi perbaikan layanan UT, dengan kontribusi penting dalam mengoptimalkan layanan pendidikan jarak jauh bagi mahasiswa di UT layanan luar negeri.

Abstract

Enhancing Early Childhood Education (ECE) educators' digital media creation skills is crucial for innovative teaching, yet effective, practical professional development often remains a significant challenge. This article presents a detailed instructional design for an online training program, developed as an outcome of a community service initiative with a private ECE institution in Indonesia. This initiative involved its eleven educators, who possessed varied initial digital competencies, and aimed to address their specific needs. The design process employed a systematic needs analysis, integrating project-based learning and established andragogical principles to ensure relevance and practical application for adult learners. The resulting online program features a three-tiered competency structure (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), where each level culminates in authentic media creation projects, fostering skills through learner-centered, reflective, and collaborative activities. This theoretically-grounded instructional design offers an adaptable model anticipated to significantly improve ECE educators' digital competencies and creative capacities, thereby enriching children’s learning experiences.

Abstract

The utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in education continues to advance rapidly, offering innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness of learning processes. One of AI’s key advantages lies in its ability to personalize learning by adjusting content and teaching approaches to align with each student's needs, abilities, and learning styles. AI also contributes by automating routine tasks, providing real-time feedback, and offering precise design suggestions, allowing students to concentrate more on conceptual and artistic development in Graphic Design learning (Das & Rani, 2024). This study aims to describe the use and potential of AI as a learning medium in the subject of Graphic Design at Vocational High Schools (SMK), particularly in urban areas with adequate digital infrastructure. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review and descriptive analysis of relevant academic sources and recent publications. The study focuses on the integration of AI through adaptive learning systems and intelligent tutoring systems (ITS), which dynamically present content, feedback, and learning recommendations in a personalized manner. The findings indicate that AI-based learning in Graphic Design enhances student engagement, accelerates conceptual understanding, and provides a more interactive and responsive learning experience. However, the implementation of this technology also faces challenges, especially regarding teacher readiness, the development of appropriate instructional design, and issues related to ethics and student data privacy. The successful integration of AI into Graphic Design education in vocational schools requires strong collaboration among educators, technology developers, and school management to create a contextual and sustainable learning system. In addition, continuous teacher training and the strengthening of technology-based education policies are essential factors to consider. The results of this study are expected to serve as a foundational reference for the development of AI-based instructional innovations that are not only technically effective but also pedagogically and ethically relevant within the vocational education environment. Thus, AI holds significant potential in supporting the creation of a modern, efficient, and futureoriented learning process for the creative industry.

Abstract

Elections are among the most significant political events in a democratic country, where the legitimacy to exercise power is granted to elected political officials. The mass media can serve as an arena where various political actors compete for public attention and seek to influence public opinion. This study aims to identify conceptual metaphorical elements in the opinion columns of the online mass media platform JawaPos.com. The research is situated within the field of linguistics, as discourse and mass media both utilize language as an instrumental tool. This study employs a linguistic approach, utilizing note-taking techniques for data collection and referential methods for data analysis. The research concludes that the syntactic elements of discourse within opinion columns contain conceptual metaphorical elements that function as a form of mind control. The audience, as listeners and readers, negotiates with their thoughts, experiences, and intuitions in response to opinions written by experts and published in particular mass media.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain data on improving cognitive abilities through Betawi’s traditional game activities through song. The study was conducted at TK Mutiara Duri Kosambi Cengkareng, West Jakarta and the subject of this research is TK Mutiara B Group children. This study used a class action research method which was carried out with two cycles. Data is obtained from observation instruments, documentary studies and field notes. Observation of pre-cycle measures obtained an average of 53.95%. In cycle 1 the average results of observations 71,042%. Then in the second cycle cognitive ability has increased 18.53%, with an average yield of 89.58%. The results of research conducted at TK Mutiara show that Betawi traditional game activities through song can improve cognitive development of young children. The implications of this study suggest that teachers should implement learning by maximizing play activities. The teacher is also encouraged to be more careful in planning and implementing learning so as to achieve the goals set.

Abstract

Naskah-naskah Arab-Pegon berbahasa Jawa masih digunakan sebagai literatur di pesantren. Beberapa teks kuna berbahasa daerah tersebut merupakan karya kiai pengasuh pondok yang masih menggunakan wazan bahr bahasa Arab, kombinasi nazam unik bahasa Jawa dan bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini mengungkap naskah kitab Muhafadhatu al-Sibyaan karya Muhaimin bin Jamroh dan Zainudin Tamsir pada sisi konten, nilai yang terkandung dalam kitab tersebut. Pola penyajian tema-tema gramatika bahasa Arab dan relevansi penggunaannya dalam pendidikan bahasa Arab di era milenial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian filologi. Konsep dan langkah analisa menggunakan konsep kerja Edward Djamaris terkait penentuan sasaran penelitian, observasi pendahuluan, deskripsi naskah, transliterasi naskah, penyuntingan, penerjemahan teks, dan nilai-nilai kandungan naskah. Hasil penelitian ditemukan kolaborasi indah antara bahasa Jawa dan bahasa Arab; nazam berbahasa Jawa, wazan berpola bahasa Arab, bahar rajaz. Materi nazam bukan hasil terjemahan utuh namun cuplikan beberapa kitab klasik nahwu yang dipadu dengan nasehat-nasehat luhur kehidupan. Nazam ini lebih tepat diajarkan kepada anak-anak berasal dari suku Jawa. Nazam Jawa ini menunjukkan sumbangsih penulis untuk memenuhi pendidikan yang berbasis kearifan lokal dalam mengajarkan kaidah-kaidah bahasa Arab.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has transformed education through the implementation of online learning, particularly with Virtual Classrooms. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Virtual Classroom use in the Basic Concepts of Social Studies course for students of STKIP Kusumanegara. The research involved 30 students who participated in online lectures via a digital platform equipped with features such as learning materials, discussion forums, quizzes, and online assignments. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to analyze students’ conceptual understanding, engagement, and competence achievement. The findings reveal that Virtual Classrooms provide learning flexibility, broaden access to resources, and foster student independence. However, several challenges were identified, including limited internet access, inadequate devices, and low participation in online discussions. These constraints influenced conceptual comprehension and lecturer–student interaction. Despite these obstacles, the use of Virtual Classrooms remains effective as an alternative as well as a complementary medium to face-to-face learning, especially when supported by active and collaborative learning strategies. The study concludes that Virtual Classrooms hold significant potential for improving the quality of teaching the Basic Concepts of Social Studies, though further development of innovative methods and approaches is necessary. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for enhancing technology-based learning in higher education, particularly in teacher education programs.

Abstract

Untung Jawa Island in the Thousand Islands has excellent potential for developing family-based marine tourism, including beaches, mangrove ecotourism, and fishing activities that are attractive to both local and international tourists. However, the low digital literacy of the community is a significant obstacle to optimizing tourism promotion and boosting the local economy. This condition leads to the community's dependence on external agents and limits the competitiveness of Untung Jawa Island as a tourist destination compared to other tourist islands in the Thousand Islands. Therefore, this Community Service activity aims to enhance the digital literacy capacity of tourism managers, fishermen, and local artisans through training on creating promotional content, utilizing social media, and managing sustainable family tourism packages. The implementation method uses a participatory approach, including coordination, training, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The activity intervention also includes the installation of eight fish aggregating devices (FADs) as family-friendly fishing spots and a means of restoring fish habitats degraded due to coral reef damage. The results of the activity show an improvement in participants' skills in creating digital content (photos, videos, and promotional narratives), the formation of a local creative group called Digital Ranger, and increased community involvement in online tourism promotion. In conclusion, the synergy between physical innovation through the development of marine tourism facilities and the strengthening of digital literacy can empower communities in managing tourism destinations. The novelty of this activity lies in the integration between the installation of artificial reefs as an ecotourism innovation and community-based digital literacy training, making Untung Jawa Island a model for developing competitive and sustainable coastal digital tourism villages.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in developing the Pancasila Student Profile in early childhood education (ECE) in West Jakarta. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing surveys with teachers. The survey results show that 91.7% of teachers have developed the Merdeka Curriculum in their teaching, and 91.7% of teachers also develop the Pancasila Student Profile within the Merdeka Curriculum. Additionally, 83.3% of teachers develop the Pancasila Student Profile in learning activities, and 91.7% of teachers develop Pancasila learning projects. Furthermore, 75% of teachers develop project-based learning in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile within the Merdeka Curriculum. The Pancasila Student Profile projects help 91.7% of teachers in managing learning and assist 83.3% of children in the learning process. However, only 8.3% of teachers find it difficult to implement the Pancasila Student Profile projects in learning. Despite challenges such as limited training and resource constraints, the benefits of PBL in increasing children's motivation and engagement are evident. This study underscores the need for increased support and training for teachers, as well as government support, to ensure the successful implementation of PBL in ECE.

Abstract

This study explores university students' perceptions of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in evaluating discussion activities within Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey, data were collected from 112 undergraduate students who had participated in AI-assisted discussion forums across four MOOCs. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze students' perceptions of MOOCs and AI-assisted evaluation, followed by inferential tests to examine differences across demographic variables. Findings indicate that students hold generally positive perceptions of MOOCs, particularly regarding their flexibility, ease of use, and structured learning design. Students also evaluated discussion forums as relevant, understandable, and motivating. Although students showed moderate acceptance of AI involvement in evaluation, ethical concerns remained evident. Inferential analysis showed no significant differences in perceptions across most demographic variables, with the exception of employment status, which influenced perceptions of AI-assisted evaluation.
