Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the pedagogical literacy skills of biology education students after studying lecture material from textbooks on biology teaching and learning strategies that have been developed based on the ADDIE model. This development research used 92 students of the Biology Education Study Program, FMIPA, State University of Medan as subjects, who were determined by random sampling technique. Pedagogic literacy is measured using an essay test to determine the ability of prospective teacher students according to developments in technology and communication. The data were analyzed by percentage technique. The results of the study found that students' pedagogic literacy abilities in preparing themselves for e-learning were included in the good category (82.45%), the use of digital learning in the very good category (91.84%), the learning components involved in online learning is included in the very good category (92.67%), and the use of authentic assessment is included in the good category (84.78%).

Abstract

The use of media in learning will provide a learning experience for students because it can involve more senses and give them the freedom to interpret. This study aims to: develop android-based science learning media for elementary school students, obtain android-based science learning media suitable for elementary school students, and determine the response of elementary school students to android-based science learning media. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study. The development procedure consists of six steps, namely: analysis of potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and product testing. The assessment instrument used is a questionnaire sheet to test the quality of Android-based science learning media products. The assessment of the quality of Android-based science learning media products is conducted by reviewers, peer reviewers, elementary school (SD/MI) teachers, and the response of sixth-grade students. The results of this development research are as follows: 1) Android-based science learning media products on the topic of living organism reproduction for sixth-grade students of SD/MI have been developed, 2) the Android-based science learning media for sixth-grade students of SD/MI on the topic of living organism reproduction has been assessed by reviewers, peer reviewers, and SD/MI teachers with a rating of "Very Good" (SB) with a score of 631 and a percentage rating of 86.85%, and 3) the response of sixth grade students of SD/MI to the Android-based science learning media falls within the "Agree and Strongly Agree" interval, resulting in a score of 635 with a rating percentage of 88.23%.

Abstract

Biotechnology might be difficult to understand. Comics were learning media that presented the material in the form of illustrated stories to make it more interesting, fun, not boring, and easily understood by students. Innovation makes comics in digital form, namely e-comics equipped with factual videos. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of biotechnology e-comics equipped with factual videos, as well as the readability and response of students to biotechnology e-comics media equipped with factual videos. This research uses the ADDIE development model starting from the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The samples used in this study were randomly selected XII-grade students of Sultan Daulat 1 Senior High School. Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained are: 1) Biotechnology e-comic media complemented by factual videos obtained a material validation score of 84% and media validation obtained a score of 93% with a very valid category. 2) Comic media obtained a readability score of 81.4% with a very good category 3) Students' responses to comic media obtained a score of 82% in the very good category. Based on these results, the biotechnology e-comic media equipped with factual videos is categorized as very valid, so it is feasible to use it as a learning media.
