Abstract

Subuh Education is a form of religious education that is carried out intensively at dawn. This activity is important in forming religious character and discipline in worship in children, especially in the challenging era of technology. This study aims to build children's religious character and discipline in worship as a foundation for noble personality. The digital era presents challenges, such as uncontrolled access to content, the influence of global culture, and dependence on technology that reduces awareness of worship. The study explores the role of Subuh Education and adaptive strategies to overcome these challenges. This study uses a library research method with observation and documentation data collection techniques. The results of the study show that Subuh Education plays a significant role in forming children's religious character and discipline in worship, such as praying on time and routinely reading the Qur'an. However, the influence of technology can be an obstacle if its use is not regulated wisely. This study concludes that Subuh Education is an effective strategy for building children's religious character and discipline in worship in the digital era.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to explore the Bara’an tradition of the Bengkalis Malay community and analyze its character values to be utilized as a source for strengthening character education in Islamic Religious Education learning at schools. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach with an analytical-descriptive method. The study was conducted in Pangkalan Batang Village, Bengkalis District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. Data were collected through field studies, literature reviews, and interviews, which were then analyzed in accordance with the research objectives. Main Findings: The findings reveal that the Bara’an tradition is similar to halal bi halal but has unique local adaptations in Bengkalis. The tradition involves handshaking and seeking forgiveness, sharing meals, reciting shalawat (Marhaban), and concluding with a prayer led by an imam or group leader. The core character values reflected in the Bara’an tradition include religiosity, nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, and integrity, which align with Indonesia’s national character education framework. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This study provides a new perspective on integrating indigenous Malay traditions into character education, specifically in Islamic Religious Education learning. It offers a thematic integration model, demonstrating how traditional cultural values can be systematically incorporated into the Islamic Religious Education curriculum to strengthen students' moral and ethical development.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: Malay pantun, as an oral cultural heritage, carries noble values that transcend generations. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic educational values embedded in Malay pantun within the context of contemporary society. It explores how these values can serve as a moral compass in shaping individual and societal character. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with textual analysis to examine selected Malay pantun. The data were obtained through literature review and document analysis, focusing on identifying Islamic values such as honesty, patience, tolerance, and compassion within the pantun texts. Main Findings: The analysis reveals that Malay pantun contains fundamental Islamic educational values that remain relevant despite the evolving socio-cultural landscape. These values continue to play a significant role in character formation, fostering moral awareness and strengthening social harmony. Additionally, Malay pantun serves as an effective medium for da'wah, as its poetic and rhythmic nature enhances the reception of religious and ethical teachings. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study highlights the untapped potential of Malay pantun as a tool for cultural preservation and Islamic education in modern contexts. It provides new insights into how traditional oral literature can be adapted to contemporary educational frameworks, ensuring that Islamic teachings remain accessible and engaging for younger generations.

Abstract

Peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran memerlukan evaluasi komprehensif terhadap tiga aspek utama: perencanaan desain pembelajaran, pelaksanaan proses kegiatan pembelajaran, dan instrumen evaluasi hasil belajar. Ketiga aspek ini saling berkaitan dan berkontribusi dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan yang efektif dan relevan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara konseptual bagaimana desain pembelajaran disusun, bagaimana proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan di kelas, serta bagaimana instrumen hasil belajar dikembangkan dan digunakan secara optimal. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif melalui kajian pustaka, dengan menganalisis literatur ilmiah dan regulasi pendidikan yang relevan tanpa melibatkan data empiris primer. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa desain pembelajaran yang baik harus memperhatikan prinsip keterpaduan, diferensiasi peserta didik, dan integrasi teknologi. Sementara itu, pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang efektif bergantung pada kemampuan guru dalam menerapkan metode bervariasi, membangun interaksi bermakna, dan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung. Evaluasi instrumen pembelajaran menuntut validitas, reliabilitas, dan keadilan dalam mengukur ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor secara menyeluruh, baik melalui tes maupun asesmen non-tes. Kesimpulannya, keterpaduan antara perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi instrumen sangat penting untuk menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang adaptif dan bermakna, serta memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam pengembangan ilmu pendidikan dan solusi praktis bagi peningkatan mutu pengajaran di lapangan.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged the emergence of digital innovations in various fields, one of which is Virtual Tour innovation. Undikma campus needs to have a visual promotional media that can describe the campus facilities and environment as a whole, and is easily accessible to prospective students and the wider community. Based on these problems, this research aims to build an E-Panorama-based Virtual Tour as a medium for introducing Undikma campus visually to prospective students and the public through a website that can be accessed by anyone. By utilizing 360-degree panoramic photos, this Virtual Tour is expected to provide an interactive visual experience for users and increase the attractiveness of Undikma campus for prospective students and the community. The development model used in this research is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), which consists of six stages, namely concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Based on the results of the feasibility test, it shows that the Virtual Tour meets high standards with a feasibility percentage of 87 percent from media experts and 85.72 percent from users, so that this Virtual Tour can be declared suitable for use with a very good level of acceptance. So, it can be concluded from this research that the construction of the E-Panorama-based Virtual Tour has succeeded in achieving its goal as a medium for visually introducing the Undikma campus to prospective students and the public through a website that can be accessed by anyone and can be well received by users.

Abstract

Pregnancy traditions that develop in the Wonosari Village community, Bengkalis District, Riau Province, are a form of local wisdom that contains Islamic religious education values. These traditions are not merely expressions of culture or customs passed down from generation to generation, but also function as a means of internalizing Islamic teachings into people's lives. This study aims to identify and analyze the values of Islamic education contained in social practices during pregnancy, such as four-monthly religious studies, reading of the letters Maryam and Yusuf by pregnant women, and thanksgiving and alms activities. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, light interviews with community leaders, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that these traditions contain dimensions of monotheism, worship, morals, and Islamic brotherhood education that are implemented contextually and applicatively. These values also strengthen the role of the family and community as agents of non-formal education that instill Islamic teachings naturally since the prenatal period. Therefore, the preservation of pregnancy traditions based on Islamic teachings needs to be continuously encouraged as part of efforts to build a sustainable cultural-based Islamic education system.

Abstract

The values of politeness and courtesy in Malay culture are increasingly being eroded in the era of globalization, particularly among younger generations. The expressions polite in speech, courteous in action represent moral teachings that have been passed down through generations in Malay families as part of character education. This study explores how these values are instilled within Malay families and their role in shaping individual personality. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this research examines oral traditions, customs, and daily practices in Malay households that emphasize ethical communication and respectful behavior toward others. The findings reveal that expressions of politeness in speech and courteous conduct reflect the character education embedded in Malay family life, which cultivates manners, respect, empathy, and wisdom through daily habits and exemplary behavior. These values serve as a cultural identity foundation that must be preserved by the younger generation in modern times. The implications of this study reinforce Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s perspective that the family is the first and foremost educational environment in shaping character. Therefore, the revitalization of local cultural values within family education is essential to strengthen cultural identity and safeguard the younger generation from a moral crisis amid the forces of modernization.

Abstract

Simbolisme budaya dan religius memainkan peran sentral dalam membentuk narasi dan makna dalam karya sastra, khususnya dalam Kembara Rindu karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menganalisis makna simbolik yang merepresentasikan nilai-nilai budaya serta spiritualitas Islam dalam novel tersebut, serta menelaah bagaimana elemen-elemen tersebut berinteraksi dalam membentuk kesadaran religius tokoh utama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis wacana kritis dan teori simbol Clifford Geertz sebagai kerangka konseptual. Data dianalisis berdasarkan teks naratif, dialog, serta narasi deskriptif yang mengandung simbol budaya dan religius. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kembara Rindu sarat dengan simbolisme yang merefleksikan perjalanan spiritual dan pencarian jati diri dalam konteks nilai-nilai keislaman, seperti penggunaan simbol perjalanan, air mata, dan masjid sebagai representasi transformasi batin. Simbol budaya seperti tradisi pesantren dan relasi antar tokoh dalam keluarga juga memperkaya makna narasi. Kesimpulannya, simbolisme dalam Kembara Rindu bukan hanya memperkuat aspek estetis, tetapi juga menjadi medium penyampaian pesan moral dan spiritual yang mendalam, menghubungkan pengalaman individual tokoh dengan nilai-nilai universal dalam Islam dan budaya Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian fenomena  sarung di masyarakat Melayu Riau ini penting untuk memahami statusnya sebagai bagian dari material culture yang memberikan identitas terhadap komunitas. Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejarah penggunaannya, dan dinamika fungsinya dari zaman ke zaman, serta pemanfaatannya dalam masyarakat Nusantara yang heterogen, baik dari suku, budaya dan agama. Sebagai identitas Nusantara, sarung telah melalui proses tahapan-tahapan sejarah panjang, sehingga menjadi simbol pakaian pribumi, simbol santri, simbol ketaatan pada agama, pakaian keindahan dan kesederhanaan di wilayah Nusantara. Sejak masa kolonial, bersamaan dengan berlangsungnya proses akulturasi budaya Eropa di Nusantara, telah terjadi pergeseran nilai yang signifikan pada perspektif masyarakat dalam memandang makna dan fungsi sarung dalam kehidupan budaya dan agama, khususnya di Indonesia.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian antropologi yang memakai metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan snowballing. Teknik yang dipakai dalam  pengambilan data adalah teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Dari data yang terkumpul dan telah dianalisis didapati bahwa, secara umum masyarakat Melayu Riau, terutama di wilayah urban tidak lagi menjadikan sarung sebagai pilihan utama dalam berpakaian, bahkan ada kesan bahwa fungsi sarung sangat terbatas sebagai kelengkapan utama dalam kegiatan ritual agama saja; misalnya salat atau kegiatan keagamaan lainnya. Urgensi dan fungsi sarung sebagai pakaian harian justru lebih terwakili dalam kultur pedesaan (rural). Keberadaan sarung di masyarakat Melayu mengalami pergeseran nilai sebagai material culture yang cenderung mengarah pada simbolisasi ritual ketimbang fungsional

Abstract

Pengembangan karakter moral dan watak positif siswa sangat dibantu oleh Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Memahami dan mempraktikkan nilai-nilai Islam yang diajarkan dalam pendidikan agama dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan karakter yang kuat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji bagaimana PAI membantu siswa mengembangkan karakter moral yang sejalan dengan prinsip-prinsip Islam dan untuk menunjukkan unsur-unsur yang membantu dan menghambat penerapan pendidikan karakter oleh institusi. Studi ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif, mengumpulkan data melalui tinjauan literatur, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa PAI memiliki peran dalam membangun nilai-nilai moral, etika, dan spiritual pada siswa, sehingga dapat membangun kepribadian yang disiplin, jujur, bertanggung jawab, serta memiliki rasa empati dan kepedulian sosial yang tinggi. Aspek pendukung utama dalam pembentukan karakter siswa melalui PAI adalah kurikulum yang didasarkan pada nilai-nilai Islam, peran instruktur sebagai panutan, dan lingkungan pendidikan yang sesuai. Namun, ada sejumlah hambatan, termasuk kurangnya dukungan keluarga dan masyarakat dan kurangnya waktu untuk pendidikan PAI di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, untuk menciptakan generasi yang berintegritas dan berakhlak mulia, sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat harus bekerja sama untuk melakukan pendidikan karakter berdasarkan nilai-nilai Islam.
