Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the moderating role of entrepreneurial personality in the relationship between financial attitude, financial knowledge, and financial management behavior among MSME actors in Tarakan City. Research Design and Methodology: Data were collected from 130 MSME respondents using a quantitative approach with purposive sampling. The analysis employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with WarpPLS version 8.0 software to assess direct and moderating effects. This analysis includes outer and inner model evaluations to test the reliability, validity, and significance of the relationships between variables and the moderating effects of entrepreneurial personality. Findings and Discussion: The findings reveal that financial attitudes and knowledge significantly and positively impact financial management behavior. However, entrepreneurial personality does not significantly moderate the relationship between financial attitude and financial management behavior. On the other hand, it substantially moderates the relationship between financial knowledge and financial management behavior in a negative direction. This suggests that individuals with strong entrepreneurial traits tend to rely more on intuition and experience, weakening the influence of financial knowledge on their financial behavior. Implications: The study implies that improving financial behavior among MSMEs should focus on enhancing knowledge and attitude and aligning entrepreneurial traits with sound financial practices through integrated training and mentoring programs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kualitas pelayanan, kepercayaan anggota, dan partisipasi anggota terhadap kinerja koperasi, serta menguji peran efektivitas audit internal sebagai variabel moderasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei, di mana data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Teknik purposive sampling digunakan untuk menentukan sampel penelitian, yang melibatkan 125 anggota KSP CU Femung Pebaya di Kabupaten Malinau. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pelayanan, kepercayaan anggota, dan partisipasi anggota memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja koperasi. Namun, efektivitas audit internal tidak berperan sebagai variabel moderasi dalam hubungan antara kualitas pelayanan, kepercayaan anggota, maupun partisipasi anggota terhadap kinerja koperasi. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dengan menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas audit internal tidak mendukung perannya sebagai variabel moderasi. Secara praktis, temuan ini memberikan rekomendasi kepada pihak manajerial koperasi bahwa audit internal tetap merupakan elemen penting sebagai pendukung dalam meningkatkan kinerja koperasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh keterampilan, kompetensi, dan profesionalisme terhadap kualitas pelayanan publik di Kantor Badan Pengelola Keuangan Daerah (BPKD) Kabupaten Malinau, serta mengevaluasi peran pengembangan kapasitas sumber daya manusia (SDM) sebagai variabel moderasi. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui kuesioner yang diisi oleh 93 pegawai di Kantor BPKD Kabupaten Malinau. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan dan profesionalisme berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kualitas pelayanan publik. Keterampilan pegawai, yang mencakup kemampuan teknis, analitis, dan interpersonal, terbukti meningkatkan efektivitas serta efisiensi dalam penyelenggaraan pelayanan publik. Profesionalisme, yang mencakup etika kerja, komitmen, dan keahlian teknis, juga memiliki peran penting dalam memastikan kualitas pelayanan yang optimal. Namun, kompetensi tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas pelayanan publik, yang mengindikasikan perlunya strategi tambahan untuk meningkatkan kontribusi kompetensi dalam pelayanan

Abstract

Laporan keuangan adalah dokumen penting bagi UMKM. Laporan keuangan disusun untuk memberikan informasi keuangan mengenai kondisi keuangan UMKM. Dokumen laporan keuangan juga digunakan untuk pengajuan permohonan modal. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi, penyusunan laporan keuangan kini dapat dilakukan dengan cara yang praktis menggunakan aplikasi di smartphone, yaitu aplikasi SIAPIK. SIAPIK memberikan kemudahan dalam mencatat setiap transaksi dan menghasilkan laporan keuangan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan penggunaan aplikasi SIAPIK untuk menghasilkan laporan keuangan bagi UMKM Ar-Raihan. UMKM Ar-Raihan merupakan UMKM pengolahan bahan baku rumput laut menjadi dodol di Kota Tarakan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan metode partisipatif. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah Peningkatan pengetahuan pemilik usaha mengenai pentingnya penyusunan laporan keuangan untuk operasional usaha dan Peningkatan kemampuan mencatat transaksi yang dapat menghasilkan laporan keuangan berupa Neraca dan Laba Rugi menggunakan aplikasi SIAPIK.

Abstract

This research stems from the phenomenon of the still low market share of Islamic banking compared to conventional banking in Indonesia. The study aims to examine the factors influencing preferences for Islamic banking products using exogenous variables including knowledge, trust, and the quality of Islamic banking product services, as well as demographic characteristics (gender and education level) as moderating variables. The research method employs SEM-PLS and Multigroup Analysis, with primary data collected from respondents of Islamic banks in Tarakan city, North Kalimantan. The research findings confirm that knowledge, trust, and the quality of product services positively enhance consumer preferences for Islamic banking products. Gender and education level are not moderators in the influence of knowledge, trust, and product service quality on consumer preferences for Islamic banking products. These research findings lend support to the consumer behavior theory that elucidates the process by which individuals decide which product becomes their primary preference in decision-making.

Abstract

Research aim: This research aims to analyze the influence of dynamic capabilities on the adoption of technology-based digital business applications in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Method: The study collected primary data through field studies in North Kalimantan, involving 73 SMEs using digital platforms, and analyzed it using Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Finding: Sensing, learning, and integrating capabilities positively impact the use of digital business tools, while coordinating capability doesn't seem to have a significant effect. Sensing involves watching market changes, leading to more digital marketing and customer reach. Learning drives gathering and using information for product improvement, increasing digital tool usage. Integrating fosters teamwork, aiding in digital tool adoption for better coordination. However, coordinating capability doesn't heavily affect digital tool usage, possibly due to SMEs' smaller scale. Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study supports the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory, emphasizing that dynamic capabilities help firms adjust resources to changing business landscapes, highlighting the significance of sensing, learning, and integrating capabilities for SMEs to effectively adopt technology-based digital business applications. Practitioner/Policy implication: SMEs intending to embrace digital business strategies should focus on enhancing dynamic capabilities, especially in sensing, learning, and integrating, to minimize conflicts and failures in technology adoption and ensure adaptability in dynamic business settings. Research limitation: The study encountered sample size limitations because of SMEs' hesitance to participate, potentially worsened by post-pandemic recovery activities.

Abstract

Kinerja pengurus barang dalam pengelolaan Barang Milik Daerah (BMD) menjadi faktor krusial dalam efektivitas tata kelola aset pemerintah daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi dan kemampuan kerja terhadap kinerja pengurus barang pada Organisasi Perangkat Daerah (OPD) di Kabupaten Malinau, dengan dukungan organisasi sebagai variabel pemediasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, melibatkan 60 pengurus barang dari berbagai OPD di Kabupaten Malinau. Data dianalisis menggunakan Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi dan kemampuan kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pengurus barang. Selain itu, dukungan organisasi memediasi hubungan antara motivasi dan kinerja, serta antara kemampuan kerja dan kinerja. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya strategi peningkatan motivasi, pelatihan keterampilan, serta penguatan dukungan organisasi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pengelolaan aset daerah.

Abstract

This community service program aims to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tarakan City, North Kalimantan, by enhancing their capacity in digital marketing strategies, financial literacy, and strengthening local economic resilience. The program was implemented using a participatory and practical approach through a series of activities including needs assessment, integrated training, workshops, and direct mentoring for MSMEs actors. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants' skills, particularly in utilizing social media and marketplaces for product promotion, maintaining basic financial records using digital applications, and conducting structured financial planning for their businesses. Furthermore, this initiative successfully fostered a shift in mindset—from traditional business management toward more strategic and data-driven decision-making. The success of this program demonstrates that well-targeted educational interventions can enhance the competitiveness of UMKM, especially in the face of digital transformation and economic uncertainty. However, sustainable impact requires ongoing assistance and multi-stakeholder collaboration. This program is expected to serve as a replicable model for similar initiatives in other regions.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the leadership capacity and business innovation of students at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Borneo Tarakan, as future economic actors in the Indonesia–Malaysia border area. The activity was implemented through a participatory and collaborative approach consisting of five main stages: socialization and problem mapping, training and workshop, technology application and practical simulation, mentoring and evaluation, and sustainability program development. The results showed achievements exceeding the targets, with 85% of participants completing the entire training series, 12 business proposals using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) framework, and 18 participants successfully creating active digital business accounts. The improvement in participants' abilities was reflected in the pre-test and post-test results, which showed an average score increase of 28% in leadership aspects and 34% in business innovation aspects. The campus market simulation through the Student Business Expo successfully strengthened collaborative networks among students, local MSMEs, and the local entrepreneurial community. This activity significantly contributed to shaping students' entrepreneurial character and competencies while supporting the strengthening of the creative economy ecosystem in the border region.
