Abstract

This study analyzes academic research published in Scopus on the evaluation of physical education learning. This study focuses on the following research questions: (1) How is the productivity of educational evaluation publications in physical education developed using the Scopus database? (2) What are the most influential journals, authors, and articles in the field of educational evaluation in physical education learning? (3) What are the keywords that often appear in the field of educational evaluation in physical education learning in the Scopus database?. The search results show that research is "evaluation" AND "learning" AND "physical education". Search Results (515 result documents) which began to be published in the Scopus database from 2011-2021. Furthermore, the researchers filter the types of documents which are only limited to journal articles, so the number of documents found is 188 documents. Based on publications in the Scopus database, the findings reveal that: the number of publications is increasing, although there is an up and down trend from year to year; most publications are written by researchers residing in several states and universities. From the emergence of keywords, the topic of assessment evaluation in physical education becomes an interesting thing to discuss. This analysis can provide knowledge about research development in aspects of evaluation and physical education and can be a source of data for teachers, lecturers, schools, universities, and the world of education. For future researchers, they can map these points by analyzing the databases of Website of Science and other publishers. Further researchers can also carry out scientometric analysis by combining two databases (Scopus and WoS) using ScientoPy and can continue with mapping until the end of 2022 and can also be a reference by seeing what points are interesting and have not been reviewed by previous researchers.

Abstract

Effective management is required to aid students in positively developing their character and skills during the physical education learning process. The goal of this study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of management in physical education publications that have been published in Scopus. The study focuses on the productivity of publishing management in physical education papers on Scopus, on the most prestigious journals, authors, and articles, and on an analysis of keywords that frequently appear in management in physical education articles published on Scopus. The search yields 598 documents that were published in the Scopus database between 2017 and 2021. The majority of publications are written by Webster, C.A., who has six published articles. The most active scientific journal is the Journal of Physical Education and Sport, which has 26 published articles. With 41 links, the United States has the most total link strength of any nation. With 122 instances, "physical education" is the term that is used most frequently. The newest keywords include "big data," "COVID-19," "diet," "sports management," and "knowledge." The most read article on the subject of management in physical education was "Domain-Specific Physical Activity and Mental Health: A Meta-analysis." The research's limitation is that the author is only able to use data from the Scopus database and is only able to use sources that are journal articles; however, the Scopus database also contains other types of sources, including proceedings, book chapters, editorials, notes, erratums, books, and book series. This study contributes to the development of new concepts in the study of physical education management, and it is necessary to conduct future research related to this research theme, which is one of the areas that can be studied more deeply in order to produce learning products according to the needs and developments of the times.

Abstract

Since COVID-19, technology-based physical education has been normal and is emerging. This paper is intended to identify the development of scientific publications and map educational technology research pertinent to physical education. The keywords "technology" and "physical education" were searched for in the Scopus and Web of Science databases for this study. The number of papers obtained was 1120. The results of mapping this topic reflected fluctuating trends. Between 2020 and 2021, there was a notable rise in this subject resulting from the breakout of the COVID-19 virus and the subsequent protracted pandemic, which compelled most individuals to rely on technology for learning, including physical education. The source that contributed the most to technology and physical education was the "Journal of Physics: Conference Series." With eight articles, Mikhail Kolokoltsev of the Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Russia, contributed the most to technology and physical education. The most influential and widely cited paper was entitled "Final condition screening system of boys aged 15–17 years in the process of physical education" by Olena et al., 2017. The most frequently used keywords were "physical education," "technology," and "college physical education." With 421 articles, China contributed the most to technology and physical education. This study restricted its search to the years 2017-2021. In light of this, it will be crucial for future studies to create a comprehensive map by examining the first year of publications on this subject. It can be used as a guide to look at more interesting pictures that have not been evaluated or looked at yet.

Abstract

Background Problems: Due to the intricate nature of the game and the requirement for proficiency in core skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive positioning, basketball players frequently have difficulties developing their technical abilities. Traditional training approaches may not focus enough on these skills, leaving room for growth. Research Objective: This study investigates how well basketball players' technical skills may be improved through game-based instruction, particularly small-sided basketball games. The study aims to address the need for a more focused approach to technical elements by highlighting the value of focused practice in pertinent game scenarios. Methods: The type of research used was quantitative research with a sample of 12 amateur athletes. The instrument used is the game performance evaluation tool (GPET). Quantitative data from pre- and post-assessments were examined using the appropriate statistical techniques, such as paired t-tests or analysis of variance (ANOVA). For the study, basketball players with various skill levels were listed. Small groups of participants received specialised training to develop their technical abilities. Findings and Results: Participants' technical proficiency significantly improved after strategically focused practice using small-sided basketball games. The outcomes show that this game-based method works well for improving basic abilities, including passing, dribbling, shooting, and positioning defensively. The results highlight how effective it is to use small-sided games to help basketball players enhance their skills. Conclusion: The study concludes that small-sided basketball games are an effective strategy for improving basketball players' technical proficiency. Notwithstanding several constraints, such as a comparatively limited sample size and consistency in participant skill levels, the findings indicate that focused practice in pertinent gaming environments produces notable enhancements. To better understand the potential of this strategy for players of different skill levels, future studies should include additional variables like training amounts and differences in small-sided game structures.
