Abstract

One of the educational game tools is blocks, which are usually made of wood. Three-dimensional blocks have various shapes, such as cubes, cylinders, tubes, cones, spheres, spheres, triangular prisms, rectangular pyramids, or pyramids, and various colors that are attractive to children. Block media helps children imagine and think about turning it into a certain shape. They are also trained to put blocks together one by one, and they can think about what to make. If children receive continuous practice, their imagination and creative abilities will develop. The more unique ideas children have, the more creative they are. The aim of this research is to find out how games influence children's creativity in children aged 5-6 years in group B PAUD SPS TP Melati Cisolok. This research uses classroom action research methods.

Abstract

This study aims to empower mathematics teachers in evaluating textbooks through the praxeological approach and the development of a constructive skepticism attitude. Textbooks are often used without critical evaluation, which can hinder the development of students' critical thinking skills. The praxeological approach provides a framework based on practical experience, while constructive skepticism encourages in-depth analysis of textbook content. The study employed a qualitative method with a hermeneutic phenomenological approach, involving 20 mathematics teachers in Sukabumi. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, which explored teachers' criteria for textbook evaluation, challenges in using textbooks, and their attitudes toward textbook content. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data, allowing the identification of patterns and themes related to teachers' evaluation practices. The results showed that training based on praxeology and constructive skepticism improved teachers' ability to evaluate textbooks, identify weaknesses, and select more relevant materials. This study recommends collaborative training programs to support more critical textbook evaluations, with the goal of enhancing the quality of mathematics education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan media Wayang Suku Raga dalam pembentukan karakter siswa sekolah dasar melalui studi literatur. Wayang Suku Raga sebagai bagian dari warisan budaya lokal memiliki potensi besar dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai karakter seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, dan kerja sama. Kajian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif, menganalisis sejumlah sumber seperti buku dan artikel ilmiah terkait. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal, khususnya Wayang Suku Raga, mampu memperkuat identitas budaya siswa sekaligus menumbuhkan karakter positif. Meskipun demikian, efektivitasnya dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor eksternal, sehingga implementasi media ini memerlukan strategi yang tepat dalam proses pembelajaran tematik. Studi ini merekomendasikan pemanfaatan lebih lanjut Wayang Suku Raga dalam kegiatan pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebijakan dan dinamika pelaksanaan kegiatan study tour di jenjang Sekolah Dasar (SD) dan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Indonesia. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi dokumen, kajian ini mengevaluasi tujuan, manfaat, serta permasalahan implementatif dari kegiatan study tour, baik dari sisi pedagogis, logistik, maupun regulatif. Data diperoleh dari dokumen kebijakan nasional dan daerah, laporan sekolah, serta praktik internasional di negara-negara seperti Jepang, Amerika Serikat, Inggris, dan Tiongkok. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa study tour berpotensi memperkaya pembelajaran kontekstual siswa, membangun kerja sama sosial, dan menghubungkan materi sekolah dengan pengalaman dunia nyata. Namun, kegiatan ini juga menimbulkan tantangan signifikan, seperti ketimpangan akses, biaya finansial yang membebani orang tua, ketidaksesuaian tujuan edukatif, serta risiko keselamatan akibat kurangnya standar operasional. Beberapa daerah bahkan mengeluarkan larangan atau pembatasan kegiatan study tour pascakecelakaan bus yang melibatkan siswa. Di sisi lain, negara-negara seperti Jepang dan Inggris telah mengembangkan school trip terintegrasi dengan kurikulum, disertai sistem pengawasan, refleksi pasca kegiatan, dan kemitraan edukatif. Kesimpulannya, pelaksanaan study tour perlu diatur melalui kebijakan yang jelas, edukatif, dan inklusif agar dapat menjadi wahana pembelajaran bermakna tanpa menciptakan kesenjangan sosial dan risiko keselamatan bagi peserta didik

Abstract

Elementary school teachers play a critical role in shaping the foundation of student learning, yet many still rely on traditional, non-contextual teaching methods that fail to meaningfully engage students. This community service initiative aims to empower elementary school teachers through a mentoring program that focuses on creative and contextual pedagogical strategies. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program was implemented over a two-month period; April-May 2025 in two public elementary schools in Sukabumi, West Java. The program involved collaborative lesson planning, classroom-based mentoring, and reflective practice sessions. Data were collected through pre- and post-program surveys, interviews, and teacher journals, then analyzed using qualitative thematic analysis and Pearson correlation techniques. The results showed significant increases in teachers’ confidence, creativity, and contextual awareness in teaching, as well as increased student engagement. Teachers began to integrate local culture, materials, and everyday experiences into their teaching, creating a more relevant and participatory learning environment. The program’s mentoring model proved effective in fostering teacher agency and sustained pedagogical innovation. This initiative contributes to the model of teacher professional development by demonstrating how participatory and localized mentoring can bridge the gap between theory and practice in primary education.

Abstract

To evaluate the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a cloning-based Virtual Laboratory in enhancing high school students’ learning motivation. Specifically, this study addresses: (1) the objectives of the research; (2) how the study was conducted; (3) the results obtained; and (4) the novelty of the work. This research employed a Research and Development (R2D2) approach consisting of definition, design–development, and dissemination phases. Media validation involved subject matter experts, instructional design experts, media experts, and biology teachers. Effectiveness was measured using the ARCS questionnaire (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) and analyzed with a Paired Sample t-test. The media demonstrated very good validity (84.72–97.29%), high readability and practicality (85.20% and 90.69%, respectively), and positive student responses (86.62%). Students’ learning motivation increased significantly across all ARCS dimensions, with an average improvement of 0.77. This study addresses a gap in the application of Virtual Laboratories to the high school cloning topic a complex and abstract area rarely implemented due to limited laboratory facilities. The novelty lies in the development and validation of a cloning-specific Virtual Laboratory combined with motivation measurement using the ARCS model, offering an adaptive and effective solution to bridge the gap between curriculum demands and schools’ laboratory constraints.

Abstract

This study reviews the paradigm shift in classroom management in elementary schools from a control approach to collaboration through positive discipline. Until now, classroom management practices have been characterized by teacher domination, unilateral rule-setting, and discipline enforcement based on punishment and reward-punishment systems. Findings from a case study at a public elementary school in Sukabumi Regency show that the control approach is still very strong, especially in upper grades, which impacts low student participation, initiative, and self-confidence. However, in lower grades, positive discipline has begun to be implemented, where teachers involve students in rule-making, emphasize dialogue, reflection, and reinforcement of good behavior. This shift reflects a paradigm change from behaviorism to humanism and critical education, which views students as active and equal subjects. The implication of these findings is the need for teachers and schools to adopt collaborative and positive discipline approaches to create a more humanist, democratic, and character-oriented learning environment. Institutional support and ongoing training are key to the successful implementation of this change.
