Abstract

The research was Research and development which intended to develop a valid and effective model of Adobe Flash Professional as a Learning Media to Increase the First Grade Students’ Speaking Achievement at Junior High School especially on the topics Greeting and leave taking as well as apologizing.This reseacrh applied Research and Development (R&D) design, based on Sugiyono model.which include : Analyzing potential and problem, Data collection, Product design, Product validation, Product revision, Product testing/try-out, Product revision and Final product. The subject of this research were 29 students of VII C in MTs Ma’arif NU GandusariBlitar. The data of the research were quantitative data ( the result from Test and Questionnaire) and qualitative ( the result of interview)The result of the research showed that: (1) The developed product (adobe flash profesional) as a learning media was valid, it was proved by the result of content English material validation (77.4%) and media validation (70.4%); (2) Developed Adobe flash professional as a learning mediawas effective to increase the first grade students’ speaking achievement, it was proved by the increasement of the students’ speaking mean score of Greeting and Leave Taking from (43.40) to (80.50) and score of Apologizing from (45.00) to (91.70); (3) Students gave positive responses toward the developed adobe flash professional as a learning media in teaching speaking reflected from the result of questionnire given (80.80%). From the result above, it can be concluded that adobe flash professional as a learning media was valid to be applied in teaching learning and effective to increase the first grade students’ speaking achievement at MTs Ma’arif NU GandusariBlitar.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance the students’ grammar achievement in learning relative pronouns by applying quizizz application The Subjects of the research are 24 students of Second semester who take Intermediate English Grammar Course in Balitar Islamic University. The design of the research is classroom action reseach which covers 4 main steps: Planning, Acting, Observing, and Evaluating.The researcher uses test and Questionnaire for gaining the data of the research. The research findings shows that the students’ achievement in learning relative pronouns increase after they learned the materials and evaluated by applying quizizz Application. Moreover, they’ also present positive views to the use of Quizizz for Learning and evaluating Relative Pronouns.

Abstract

This research aims to establish the Go Gold Generation (3G) Web-Based Quiz for teaching and learning grammar that focused on simple past tense, present perfect tense, and past continuous tense, to discover the appropriateness of 3G web-based quiz for teaching and learning grammar, and to find out the teachers’ and students’ responses toward the use of 3G web-based quiz for teaching and learning grammar to the tenth-grade students. The researchers adapted Sugiyono’s research and development framework as a reference. The adaption has been formulated into three phases, which were: foundational research; design and development; and perception test and finalization. The research result showed that the validation score was 89,73% included in the “Very Valid” category. The result of teachers’ and students’ responses score was 89,09% included in the “Very Good” category. It means that a 3G web-based quiz can be applied as an alternative media for teaching and learning grammar to the tenth-grade students in senior high school. Furthermore, the final product of the model consisted of 3G Web-Based Quiz, guidebooks for teachers and students, and assessment guidelines.

Abstract

This research objectives are to develop a model of Digital Vo-Book with Crossword for Teaching and Learning Vocabulary, to find out the appropriateness of Digital Vo-Book with Crossword for Teaching and Learning Vocabulary, and to know the teachers' and students' perceptions toward the use of development Digital Vo-Book with Crossword for Teaching and Learning Vocabulary in Seventh Grade Junior High School. This research adapted Sugiyono's R & D model. These research problems consisted of six steps: (1) data collections and finding potential and problem, (2) design and development, (3) expert validation and revision, (4) teachers’ and students’ perceptions, (5) evaluation by experts and revision, and (6) final product and publication. The result of material validation 90.6% and media validation 85.7% included in the "Very Valid" category. The result of the teacher's perception of 88.2% and the student’s perception 86.98% included in the "Very Good" category. It means that Vo-Book can be applied as an alternative media for teaching and learning vocabulary to seventh-grade students in Junior High School. The final product of the model consisted of a digital Vo-Book with a crossword, and 3 guidebooks for student, teacher, and public.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to develop a hopscotch board for learning reading of a descriptive text in junior high schools, know the validity of the developed hopscotch board for learning reading of the descriptive text, and gain the teachers’ and students’ responses toward the developed hopscotch board for learning reading of the descriptive text. This research adapted Research and Development (R&D) design based on Sugiyono’s model, which includes: (1) Finding potential and problem solution; (2) Design and development; (3) Experts validation and revision; (4) Teachers’ and students’ responses; (5) Evaluation by experts and revision; and (6) Final product. The findings revealed that: (1) the model of developed hopscotch board for learning reading descriptive text consisted of a hopscotch board, markers, ownership signs, how to play (for one group instruction and more than one group instruction), cards (reading descriptive cards, exercise cards, a key answer of exercise cards, punishment cards, and key answer of punishment cards), and 2 guidebooks (for teacher and students). (2) The developed hopscotch board was valid, it was proved by the result of material experts’ validation of 95% (very valid), and media experts’ validation of 95% (very valid). Furthermore, (3) Students and teachers gave positive responses toward the developed hopscotch board as learning media for learning to read the descriptive text as reflected in the result of the questionnaire given in which got 89% (very good) from students and 90% (very good) from the teachers. From the result above, we can infer that the developed hopscotch board was valid and appropriate to be used as an alternative media for learning reading of the descriptive text in junior high schools.

Abstract

The present study has the intention to create, validate, evaluate the effectiveness, and gain responses toward the developed product of Easy listening audio for enhancing the eight grade students’ listening learning outcomes in Blitar It was achieved by adapting Sugiyono's frameworks of developing the product into seven phases which covered; 1) problems identification and, solution identification, 2) designing and developing the product,3) validating and revising the product, 4) conducting product trials,5) collecting feedback from teachers and students, 6) evaluating and revising the product, and 7) finalizing it for publication. The research reported that the Easy Listening Audio comprised audio listening materials describing people, things, and animals, and three guidebooks for teachers, students, and the public. The validation process confirmed that the developed product was highly valid, with material validators rating it at 95% and media validators at 89%. The effectiveness of the product was also evident from the t-test results, which showed a value of less than 0.005, indicating a significant improvement in learning outcomes. Additionally, users responded positively to the product, with 91.6% of students rating it as "Very good" and 78.5% of teachers rating it as "Good." Therefore, it is recommended that teachers consider using the developed Easy Listening Audio as an alternative medium, particularly for teaching listening descriptive text in junior high schools

Abstract

This classroom action research utilized Duolingo to enhance the grammar mastery of 31 senior high school students in Reported Speech. The research procedures cover; planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The researchers collected data through tests. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in students' grammar of Reported Speech mastery, with test average scores increasing from 56.77 to 85.16. Regarding the result, teachers are suggested to integrate technology-based learning tools like Duolingo to create engaging and interactive learning environments and enhance students‘ mastery. However, it is important to note that individual student progress varied, and some students showed more substantial improvements compared to others. Further analysis and consideration of factors such as individual learning styles, frequency of Duolingo usage, and additional instructional support may help understand the variations in student performance.

Abstract

This study was undertaken with the aim of eliciting students' perspectives concerning the utilization of Google Classroom as an instructional platform for enhancing vocabulary in the realm of higher education. Employing a descriptive quantitative methodology, the investigation was carried out among a cohort of 19 students in their fourth academic semester, all of whom were actively enrolled in the English Education Department at Blitar Islamic University. The primary research tool was a questionnaire, The finding revealed a positive inclination among students toward utilizing Google Classroom for vocabulary instruction. The study underscored the efficacy of Google Classroom in facilitating vocabulary acquisition through its interactive features, enabling seamless communication between peers and instructors for the dissemination of vocabulary materials. This is proved by the students' responses, for example;84.2% of students agreed that Google Classroom can be downloaded easily on multiple devices, and another 84.2% of students agreed that they enjoy using Google Classroom for learning vocabulary because of its free accessibility. However, an element of uncertainty persists among students concerning the potential of Google Classroom to either supplement or supplant traditional classroom settings in vocabulary learning activities. This research sheds light on the promising role of technology-enhanced learning platforms like Google Classroom in fostering vocabulary development while also recognizing the need for further exploration of their integration within broader education.

Abstract

In this quantitative study, the researchers assessed the impact of the Seesaw application on eleventh-grade students’ speaking proficiency by focusing on explaining natural phenomena. The researchers utilized pre-experimental research, especially one-group pre- and post-test designs. The research data was gathered through validated pre-tests and post-tests. The statistical analysis encompassed paired sample T-tests with SPSS 25. The result revealed that the students' average speaking score increased significantly from 68.40 to 85.20. The sig 2 tailed was less than 0.05. The results offer compelling support for the integration of Seesaw by English educators, highlighting the potential for enhanced learning outcomes and increased student engagement. Future researchers should delve into comparative studies, scrutinizing the Seesaw application against other digital interactive platforms, including Busuu, ELSA, Cake, Beelinguapp, and similar tools.

Abstract

In this study, the researchers intended to seek how effective the Quizlet application was at boosting the 29 seventh-grade students’ vocabulary proficiency, especially in defining the words, finding synonyms and antonyms of the words, and using the vocabulary in the context of the descriptive text. The pre-experimental study utilized a one-group pretest-post-test design conducted by the researchers. The research procedures covered three pivotal steps: 1) pre-test, 2) treatment, and 3) post-test. For gaining the desired data objective test was implemented in this study. Before administering the test to the participants, it was tried out at the same level to determine the test's reliability and validity. The data analysis of this study by utilizing Paired sample t-test with SPSS. The results revealed that the student's learning outcome in learning the vocabulary of descriptive text increased from the pre-test score of 66.20 to 85.58. Additionally, it was discovered that the 2- tailed sig value is less than 0.05. It showed that the learning results in the pre-test and post-test data change significantly. Therefore, it might be inferred that Quizlet application is useful for improving the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students, in terms of acquiring the vocabulary of descriptive text. From the result, it is suggested that educators apply Quizlet application to introduce difficult terms in fun and interesting ways.
