Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure exceeding 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure exceeding 90 mmHg. The long-term impact of high blood pressure can lead to damage to various organs such as the heart, kidneys, and brain. In 2019, 34 percent of the population in Jakarta experienced the risk of hypertension, both mild and severe. Based on data from the Cipayung District Health Center in 2022, hypertension ranked first among the top 10 most frequently visited diseases on a monthly basis. This research aims to study and explain the relationship between lifestyle and the occurrence of hypertension in outpatients at the Cipayung District Health Center during the period of January-April 2023. The study design of this research is cross-sectional. Data collection is sourced from secondary data obtained from the medical records of the Cipayung District Health Center. The population in this study consists of outpatients who visited the Cipayung District Health Center with data collected from January to April 2023, totaling 1152 individuals, and all of them were analyzed. Based on the analysis results, it is known that age, gender, education level, physical activity, and salt consumption significantly influence the occurrence of hypertension. Physical activity is the most dominant risk factor influencing the occurrence of hypertension with an odds ratio of 29.714 and a 95% confidence interval of 19.543 - 45.178. Therefore, it is expected that the health center can enhance health promotion efforts and interventions targeting at-risk groups to prevent hypertension in the Cipayung Health Center area. Additionally, establishing sports clubs and healthy Diet Community Kitchens that can be participated in by the community can be beneficial. Increasing community engagement in healthy living can also reduce the risk of hypertension in the population. Keywords : Hypertension, Physical Activity, Health Center, Cipayung

Abstract

Customer-Based Brand Equity (CBBE) has become an increasingly important determinant of hospital competitiveness; however, comparative empirical evidence between public and private hospitals in developing countries remains limited. This study aims to compare CBBE between public and private hospitals in Cirebon Regency, Indonesia, and to identify key brand equity dimensions influencing patients’ hospital choice. A comparative cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 360 patients, comprising 180 from public hospitals and 180 from private hospitals, recruited purposively. CBBE was measured using a standardized 24-item questionnaire encompassing seven dimensions: brand awareness, brand association, perceived quality, emotional response, brand relationship, marketing stimulus, and corporate ability association. Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test and binary logistic regression. The results indicate that private hospitals achieved significantly higher scores across all CBBE dimensions (p < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis identified brand awareness, corporate ability association, emotional response, and brand relationship as significant predictors of hospital choice, with brand relationship emerging as the most dominant factor. These findings suggest that hospital brand equity is shaped not only by perceived service quality but also by institutional reputation and the ability to establish strong emotional and relational bonds with patients. Strengthening patient-centered branding strategies is therefore essential, particularly for public hospitals, to enhance competitiveness and sustain patient loyalty within Indonesia’s national health insurance system.

Abstract

Medical records are official documents that contain comprehensive information about a patient’s health condition, including medical history, examination results, diagnoses, medical procedures, and therapies provided. Incomplete medical records can hinder communication among healthcare professionals and increase the risk of patient safety incidents. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of medical record completeness on patient safety incidents at Kendari City General Hospital. The research employed a mixed-method approach with a population of 6,026 patients and a sample of 110 documents. The independent variable was medical record completeness, while the dependent variable was patient safety incidents. Data were collected through reviews of electronic medical records (EMR) and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the completeness of inpatient medical records did not have a significant effect on patient safety incidents (regression coefficient = –0.036; p = 0.261). Authentication and digital signatures were the only indicators that significantly influenced patient safety incidents (B coefficient = –0.346; p = 0.000). These findings indicate that inpatient medical record completeness is not the sole factor contributing to patient safety incidents. In the short term, hospitals need to strengthen authentication procedures and conduct routine audits; in the medium term, integrating EMR technology with real-time authentication alerts and training on record completeness should be implemented; and in the long term, hospitals may adopt a fully integrated digital authentication system within EMR equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based automated verification.

Abstract

Background: Antenatal care (ANC) is a critical component of maternal health services aimed at improving maternal outcomes and reducing the risk of pregnancy-related complications. The Indonesian government has established a minimum standard of six antenatal visits (K6) to ensure optimal monitoring of pregnancy. However, the coverage of K6 visits at the primary healthcare level has not fully met the expected targets. Maternal characteristics, including demographic and behavioral factors, are considered important determinants influencing adherence to antenatal visits. Objective: This study aimed to analyze maternal characteristics, knowledge, and attitudes, as well as their association with the coverage of K6 antenatal visits in the working area of Parung Panjang Health Center in 2025. Methods: This study employed a quantitative analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 154 pregnant women selected using a total sampling technique. The dependent variable was K6 antenatal visit coverage (complete vs. incomplete). Independent variables included maternal age, educational level, employment status, parity, level of knowledge, and attitudes toward antenatal care. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and verified through antenatal visit records in the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis to describe respondent characteristics, bivariate analysis with chi-square tests, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression with a significance level of 5%. Results: More than half of the respondents (53.9%) had not completed the recommended K6 antenatal visits. Univariate analysis showed that the majority of mothers had low educational attainment and insufficient levels of knowledge and supportive attitudes toward antenatal care. Bivariate analysis revealed that maternal education, knowledge, and attitudes were significantly associated with K6 visit coverage (p<0.05). Multivariate analysis indicated that maternal attitude was the most dominant factor associated with complete K6 visits after controlling for other maternal characteristics. Conclusion: The coverage of K6 antenatal visits in the study area remains low and is influenced by maternal characteristics, particularly education, knowledge, and attitude. Maternal attitude is the dominant factor associated with the completeness of K6 antenatal visits. Strengthening health education and fostering positive attitudes toward antenatal care services need to be enhanced to improve pregnant women’s adherence to antenatal visits

Abstract

Outpatient services are the primary gateway for patients entering healthcare facilities, yet declining visits at regional hospitals in Indonesia indicate challenges in service utilization. This study aims to describe outpatient service utilization in relation to hospital image and human resource availability at Arjawinangun Regional Hospital, Cirebon. A quantitative descriptive study was conducted with 128 outpatients selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire adapted from previous studies, consisting of 12 items for hospital image, 12 items for human resource availability, and 20 items for outpatient service utilization, all measured on a five-point Likert scale. Descriptive analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics to calculate mean scores, which were interpreted using categories of very poor, poor, good, and very good. The results show that hospital image achieved an overall mean of 4.11 (very good), with functional image scoring highest (4.27) and institutional image lowest (3.98). Human resource availability achieved an overall mean of 4.06 (very good), with discipline and work ethic scoring highest (4.11) and waiting time concerns scoring lowest (3.88). Outpatient service utilization achieved an overall mean of 4.05 (very good), with service accessibility scoring highest (4.15) and visit frequency scoring lowest (3.96). The study concludes that while patient perceptions of hospital image and human resources are generally very positive, institutional transparency, waiting time management, and visit frequency require strategic attention. These findings provide empirical evidence for hospital management to strengthen institutional image and optimize staff distribution to enhance consistent outpatient service utilization.
