Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the biophysical aspects and their impact on the community around the planned area of the Rotiklot dam in Fatuketi Village, Kakuluk Mesak District, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This type of research is descriptive with qualitative methods with the data sources used in this study. The study data is divided into two types of data, namely, primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained directly from the field through measurements, observations, calculations, notes and interviews with related parties related to the object being studied. Primary data obtained include stand data (diameter and height), area based on sample plots made and socio-economic data and community perceptions obtained through interviews. The results of the field study show that the location of the planned Rotiklot dam construction in Fatuketi Village, Kakuluk Mesak District, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province which is indicated to be included in the Indicative Map of Delaying the Granting of New Permits for forest use. The potential of natural resources available in the area of the planned Rotiklot dam construction area is generally not too large, considering that the condition of the land around the planned dam construction area is classified as unfavorable for agricultural development, the rice fields around the upstream area of the Rotiklot Dam development plan only utilize rainfed rice fields, very dry conditions during the dry season make the rice fields unusable due to a lack of water supply. Vegetation/coverage in the area of the Rotiklot Dam construction in Fatuketi Village, Kakuluk Mesak District, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, is dominated by forest Bamboo Bambusa sp), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta), Red wood (Pterocarpus cortexs), Tamarind (Tamarindus Sp), Schleichera (Schleichera oleosa), Sea poison tree (Barringtonia asiatica), Cassod tree (Cassia siamea), Kuteera-Gum (Acasia leucophloeae), Indian jujube (Zyzyphus mauritiana), Leucaena leucocephala, Gebang palm (Corypha utan Lam), Bauhinia trees (Bauhinia purpure)

Abstract

In IPA learning, especially physics, in addition to understanding theoretical physics concepts, student involvement through direct experience in learning as an actualization of the knowledge learned is very necessary. This actualization is realized through experimental activities that are expected to help students understand physics concepts more easily, more quickly, and longer remember them so that students are motivated to study physics further. Physics experimental activities can be carried out at various levels of education units, from Elementary School (SD)/equivalent, Junior High School (SMP)/equivalent, and Senior High School (SMA)/equivalent. Especially for Senior High School (SMA), students already have the ability to think abstractly, logically, and critically so that direct experience in learning physics will help improve these abilities. One such experience is experimentation. The existence of experiments will present natural phenomena as characteristics of physics into something easy to understand so that it is not only theoretical in its delivery. In this Community Service Activity, experiments are presented in physics learning. The results of the activity evaluation gave a positive response to the implementation of the activity, where students felt helped to understand several physics concepts through the role of the experiments that have been carried out so that students have a sense of interest and motivation to study IPA, especially physics further.

Abstract

Abstract

Agriculture is a vital sector for the majority of Indonesians, especially in regions with unique agroecological characteristics such as East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. Existing conditions indicate that some agriculture in NTT's drylands is still rain-fed. One modern irrigation technology that offers a potential solution to overcome these challenges and is relevant for dryland conditions is the sprinkler irrigation system. This system operates by spraying water onto agricultural land in the form of fine droplets, resembling natural rainwater, thereby offering specific advantages over other systems. The development of digital technology presents opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of sprinkler irrigation systems by integrating them with the Internet of Things (IoT). By utilizing IoT-based controllers, sprinkler systems can be operated, monitored, and managed remotely in real-time via smart devices, such as smartphones or mini-computers. The results of this Community Partnership Empowerment (CPE) activity indicate that the application of sprinkler irrigation technology can increase farmer productivity and reduce water consumption by approximately one cubic meter (m³) per week. The results are very suitable and have the potential to be applied in dryland areas such as NTT.
