Abstract

Surabaya and the Gerbang Kertasusila Metropolitan Area do not yet have a competent urban public transport system or regional public transport system. The government will introduce electric-based public rail transportation or known as KRL-SRRL in the Kertasusila Gate area. Construction of KRL-SRRL Phase 1 across Surabaya Pasar Turi-Sidoarjo, if operational, will overlap with the Local Train which is now operating. In future KRL-SRRL phase 1 operations, the operator must consider the purchasing power of prospective KRL-SRRL phase 1 users. This research aims to examine how affordable the purchasing power of prospective KRL-SRRL users is based on Ability to Pay (ATP) and Willingness to Pay (WTP) and knowing the relationship between ATP and WTP. The method used to determine the ATP value of potential KRL-SRRL service users is based on income and expenditure on transportation services used household budget method. The WTP value of potential KRL-SRRL service users is based on the average expected fare preference using the approach discrete choice analysis with model logit binominal. Overall, the average ATP for prospective KRL SRRL passengers with SBY-SDA relations is IDR 475,28/km. Meanwhile, the WTP for prospective KRL SRRL passengers with SBY-SDA relations is IDR 341,42/km. The fare that prospective KRL-SRRL passengers can afford is a maximum flat fare of IDR 13,000 for one trip from SBY-SDA. The relationship between ability to pay (ATP) and Willingness to pay (WTP) analysis results show that the ATP value is greater than the WTP value. This shows that prospective KRL SRRL passengers with SBY-SDA relations are choice riders.

Abstract

The habit of pedestrians in using the road when crossing the road is in the spotlight because it will cause traffic jams so that they are prone to accidents. No road user wants to experience such an accident, whether it is a minor accident or an accident that is fatal and leads to death. Pelican crossings are made to minimize pedestrian accidents, but this facility does not guarantee that accidents will not occur. Problems arise when pressing the crossing button will create congestion and noise due to the notification sound of the crossing. When someone wants to cross it will result in the accumulation of vehicles around because they are waiting for irregular pedestrians to cross. The purpose of this research is to design a pedestrian Puffin Crossing advance simulation that is more adaptive and safe. The research was conducted by making a prototype using a microcontroller and several sensors which will later be used as a medium for interaction between drivers and pedestrians. The results of the prototype research can work well and in accordance with the function of each component. The recommended minimum number of pedestrians is 4 waders, the minimum required waiting time is 5 seconds, while the crossing time is conditioned based on pedestrian sensor readings at the zebra cross.

Abstract

This study examines the optimization of bottled water distribution logistics at a water company that serves eight regular customers using two Isuzu Traga Box fleets, each with a capacity of 400 cartons. The study addresses the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) by comparing three proven route optimization methods: the Saving Matrix Algorithm, the Nearest Insertion Heuristic, and the Nearest Neighbor Algorithm. The research methodology integrates exponential smoothing techniques for demand forecasting and utilizes Google Maps and Google Earth for precise distance measurements and route planning. The initial distribution system operated with 8 separate routes covering a total distance of 327.6 km, resulting in inefficient resource utilization and high operational costs. Through comprehensive optimization analysis, all three methods demonstrated significant efficiency improvements with varying performance levels. The Saving Matrix algorithm achieved the highest distance reduction of 33.67%, followed by Nearest Insertion at 33.59%, and Nearest Neighbor at 32.74%. The Saving Matrix method, selected as the optimal solution based on comprehensive performance evaluation, successfully redesigned the distribution network into 4 consolidated routes with a total distance of 220.35 km. This optimization resulted in substantial operational improvements, including: reducing delivery time from several days to 2 working days, reducing fuel consumption costs by 33.67%, and an extraordinary 60% reduction in driver meal allowances. This implementation also improved vehicle utilization efficiency and enhanced customer service reliability. The study concluded that the Saving Matrix Algorithm provides the most effective and practical solution for improving distribution logistics efficiency in the bottled water industry, offering significant cost savings while maintaining service quality standards.
