Abstract

The Minister of Health Policy No. HK.01.07/Menkes/1458/2023 about clinical research management in hospital stated that every hospital need to build their own clinical research unit. RSPAW already has research unit but they are still lacking in research program and can not fulfill the target of this year. Health workers in RSPAW rarely participated in research activity. Based on interview, the target  in 2023 was not achieved yet by September. Research activity in RSPAW was done randomly, was not well documented, and unpublished. This course was about research activity in hospital. This course was held to increase the interest and skill of the health workers in RSPAW to fulfill the work target.  Furthermore, health services in hospital were expected based on research result. The monitoring results of the course are six proposal scripts are submitted to get funding from the hospital research unit and two articles have been published. This course can increase awareness and interest of health workers in the hospital to conduct research activity.   ABSTRAK                 Berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor HK.01.07/Menkes/1458/2023 tentang penyelenggaraan penelitian klinik di rumah sakit perlu dibentuk unit penelitian klinik di rumah sakit. RSPAW telah memiliki unit penelitian, namun kegiatan penelitian masih minim dan target rencana strategis rumah sakit belum tercapai. Praktisi di RSPAW masih jarang terpapar mengenai kegiatan penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, target publikasi penelitian tahun 2023 di RSPAW belum tercapai hingga bulan September. Kegiatan penelitian di RSPAW sifatnya masih acak dan belum terdokumentasi dengan baik serta tidka dipublikasikan. Kegiatan bimbingan teknis mengenai pelaksanaan penelitian di rumah sakit dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan minat dan keterampilan tenaga kesehatan di RSPAW dan membantu mencapai target kinerja. Selain itu, hasil riset diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pelayanan kesehatan rumah sakit. Pada kegiatan tindak lanjut, telah terdapat enam naskah proposal penelitian yang disusun untuk diajukan dalam mendapatkan pendanaan rumah sakit dan dua artikel penelitian telah terbit. Kegiatan bimbingan teknis penelitian dapat meningkatkan minat tenaga kesehatan di rumah sakit untuk melaksanakan penelitian.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five resulting from chronic malnutrition, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. In the body of a stunted child, there are impediments to physical growth and mental development. This is the body's adaptation to malnutrition. The underlying causes of stunting must be addressed so that the impact of stunting is not experienced until adulthood. In 2022, Sragen Regency, Central Java, was identified as a key location for stunting intervention. One of the strategies to accelerate stunting reduction is the provision of assistance to families at risk of stunting. This is carried out by the family support team (TPK) Cadre. The Sragen Regency TPK cadres have provided communication, information, and education to the target group. However, the implementation of this strategy has not been optimised. The cadres lack the requisite skills to prepare materials, create media, and provide education to the target group. They are constrained in their ability to educate target groups about alternative nutrient-dense foods, particularly those derived from local sources in the supplementary feeding program for target groups. Training activities utilize a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on preparation of materials and creation of communication, information, and education media according to the target group, video screenings, and demonstrations of nutrient-dense supplementary foods. The activity was attended by 71 representatives of TPK cadres from 10 villages focused on handling stunting in Sragen Regency. The results obtained were increased knowledge and skills of cadres in providing communication, information and education and the provision of nutrient-dense supplementary food. It is recommended that cadres disseminate information about the preparation of materials, the creation of communication, information and education media and alternative nutrient-dense supplementary foods to other cadres in the village. ABSTRAK                 Stunting adalah kondisi gagal tumbuh pada anak balita sebagai akibat kekurangan gizi kronis terutama pada 1000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan. Di dalam tubuh anak yang stunting terjadi hambatan pertumbuhan fisik dan perkembangan mental. Hal ini sebagai penyesuaian tubuh terhadap kondisi kekurangan gizi. Akar penyebab stunting harus diatasi agar dampak stunting tidak dialami hingga dewasa. Kabupaten Sragen, Jawa Tengah pada tahun 2022 menjadi salah satu lokasi fokus intervensi stunting. Salah satu program percepatan penurunan stunting adalah pendampingan keluarga berisiko stunting yang dilaksanakan oleh Kader Tim Pendamping Keluarga (TPK). Kader TPK Kabupaten Sragen telah memberikan Komunikasi, Informasi dan Edukasi (KIE) pada kelompok sasaran, namun belum dilaksanakan dengan optimal. Kader TPK belum terampil dalam menyusun materi, membuat media dan memberikan edukasi kepada kelompok sasaran. Kader TPK memiliki keterbatasan dalam memberikan edukasi kepada kelompok sasaran mengenai alternatif makanan padat gizi terutama yang berbahan dasar pangan lokal dalam program Pemberian Makan Tambahan (PMT) kelompok sasaran. Kegiatan pelatihan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi dan praktik penyusunan materi dan pembuatan media KIE sesuai kelompok sasaran, pemutaran video dan demonstrasi untuk PMT pada gizi. Kegiatan tersebut diikuti oleh perwakilan Kader TPK dari 10 Desa fokus penanganan stunting di Kabupaten Sragen sebanyak 71 orang. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan, dan keterampilan kader TPK dalam memberikan KIE dan PMT padat gizi. Saran bagi kader TPK adalah meneruskan informasi mengenai penyusunan materi dan pembuatan media untuk KIE dan alternatif PMT padat gizi kepada kader TPK yang anggota kader TPK lain di desanya.

Abstract

Nutrition surveillance data related to stunting is important as a basis for program formulation. The skills of the data collection team in nutrition surveillance determine the quality of the data. One of the roles of the family assistance team is to collect data using both interviews and anthropometric measurements. Lack of skill in collecting data can lead to misinterpretation, which can lead to ineffective nutrition programs. Training activities for family support teams related to interview techniques and anthropometric measurements were carried out to overcome these problems. The methods used were lectures, demonstrations, and simulations. The results of the activity are expected to improve the skills of the family support team in collecting nutrition surveillance data. After the activity, the knowledge of the family support team increased. The skills of the family support team still need to be refreshed regularly because there are still misperceptions related to interview techniques. In addition, anthropometric measurement errors were still found, especially in measuring mid-upper arm circumference and height.   ABSTRAK Data surveilan gizi terkait stunting penting sebagai dasar perumusan program. Keterampilan tim pengumpul data dalam surveilan gizi menentukan kualitas data. Salah satu peran TPK adalah mengumpulkan data baik menggunakan metode wawancara maupun pengukuran antropometri. TPK yang kurang terampil dalam mengumpulkan data dapat menyebabkan interpretasi yang keliru yang dapat menyebabkan program gizi menjadi kurang efektif. Kegiatan pelatihan bagi TPK terkait teknik wawancara dan pengukuran antropometri dilaksanakan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, dan simulasi. Hasil kegiatan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan TPK dalam mengumpulkan data surveilan gizi. Setelah kegiatan pengetahuan TPK meningkat. Keterampilan TPK masih perlu mendapatkan penyegaran secara berkala karena masih ditemukan kesalahan persepsi terkait teknik wawancara. Selain itu, masih ditemukan kesalahan pengukuran antropometri terutama pada pengukuran lingkar lengan atas dan tinggi badan.

Abstract

The school-age child is a growing age group that is actively engaged in a multitude of activities. It is not possible to meet the nutritional needs of schoolchildren in an optimal manner. To support growth and development and physical activity, it is essential to fulfill the nutritional needs of children. One effective approach is to provide them with healthy snacks. The objective of this study was to ascertain the level of acceptability and preference for soy yogurt as a healthy snack for school-aged children, with the utilization of locally sourced ingredients. This research is a descriptive study, wherein the level of liking and acceptability of soygurt are described based on indicators of color, taste, texture, and aroma. Data were collected through interviews with untrained panelists using the scoring method. The results indicated that the product was rated highly in terms of taste (94.12%), with relatively lower ratings for aroma (52.94%). Overall, soygurt was perceived as a healthy snack for school-age children, offering potential nutritional benefits.   ABSTRAK Anak usia sekolah merupakan kelompok usia masa pertumbuhan yang aktif dalam melakukan berbagai macam kegiatan. Pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi anak sekolah belum dapat dilakukan secara optimal. Pemenuhan kebutuhan untuk mendukung tumbuh kembang dan aktivitas fisik sangat diperlukan yang salah satunya adalah melalui konsumsi jajanan sehat. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui tingkat kesukaan dan daya terima soygurt sebagai jajanan sehat pada anak usia sekolah dengan pemanfaatan sumber bahan pangan lokal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggambarkan tingkat kesukaan dan daya terima soygurt berdasarkan indikator warna, rasa, tekstur dan aroma. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui wawancara kepada panelis tidak terlatih dengan metode skoring. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa memiliki tingkat kesukaan yang berbeda dengan nilai tertinggi pada indikator rasa (94,12%) dan tingkat kesukaan yang kurang pada indikator aroma (52,94%) dan memiliki daya terima dengan kategori baik (91,37%). Soygurt dapat diterima sebagai jajanan sehat untuk anak usia sekolah dengan kandungan gizi yang dapat memberikan manfaat bagi kesehatan.

Abstract

Background: A transition in diet habits towards a greater intake of ultra-processed processed foods is prone to transpire during adulthood. An elevated intake of ultra-processed processed foods affected poor diet quality and elevates the risk of developing obesity. Objectives: To ascertain the correlation between the intake of ultra-processed food, the quality of one's diet, and the prevalence of overweight in young adults. Methods: The study was undertaken using a cross-sectional design. A total of 87 participants in the study were college students between the ages of 18 and 25. They were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data was collected using the Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) to assess ultra-processed food intake. The Diet Quality Index-International (DQI-I) was used to evaluate the total diet quality. The Body Impedance Analyzer (BIA) was employed to measure body fat percentage and identify the nutritional status. The statistical analysis employed the Mann-Whitney and ANOVA tests. Results: There are 9.1% of the participants were classified as overweight, with a diet of low quality at a level of 62.15%. Additionally, 64.4% of the participants consumed ultra-processed foods that fell inside quintile 3. The higher the intake of ultra-processed foods, the higher the total intake of energy, carbs, proteins, and fats, which affects diet quality (r=-0.480). There is a correlation between the consumption of ultra-processed processed foods and excess nutritional status (p=0.022) and low quality of the subject's diet (p=0.000). Conclusions: High levels of ultra-processed food intake is correlated with lower diet quality and overweight nutritional status.

Abstract

Background: BMI is associated with increase in blood pressure. Asia-Pacific BMI recommendation has lower cut-off for overweight and obesity categories than WHO standard. Objectives: To analyze sensitivity of BMI based on WHO and Asia-Pacific recommendation for predicting hypertension. Methods: This study was diagnostic research. Population of this study was women employees in a Garment company in Semarang Regency aged 19-54 years. Total sample was 180 taken using simple random sampling technique. Sensitivity of BMI was analyzed using ROC. Results: Prevalence of overnutrition based on WHO criteria is 30.6% and 87.8% based on Asia-Pacific criteria. Sample with hypertension are 85% and not hypertension 15%. BMI is very good on predicting hypertension with AUC 95.5%. WHO and Asia-Pacific BMI recommendation are associated with blood pressure (p<0.001, r=0.278, 0.450 respectively). Asia-Pacific BMI recommendation has better sensitivity than WHO recommendation (Se=95.4%, Se=35.9%). Conclusions: Asia-Pacific BMI recommendation is more suitable for predicting hypertension in adult women in Indonesia.

Abstract

The aimed of study was to evaluate the accuracy of Waist Circumference (WC) and Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) for identification of excess adiposity in adolescents. The study design was diagnostic study. The subjects consisted of 620 adolescents (283 boys and 337 girls) aged 14-18 years. The classification of excess adiposity termed as overfat and obese was based on age-and sex-specific percent body fat cut-off values of body fat reference curves for children from the Growth Foundation. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve analyses was used to assess the accuracy of WC and WHtR as diagnostic tests of excess adiposity in adolescent. Area under curve (AUC) of WC and WHtR for the diagnostic of overfat were over 0.8 for boys and over 0.9 for girls. Whereas for obese, the AUC of WC and WHtR were over 0.9 for both sexes. The thresholds for defining overfat were 75.25 cm for WC and 0.45 for WHtR (Sensitivity (Se) and Specificity (Sp) >0.8) for boys, and 73.85 cm for WC and 0.49 for WHtR (Se dan Sp >0.8) for girls. The thresholds for defining obese were 86.45 cm for WC and 0.51 for WHtR (Se=1; Sp>0.9) for boys, and 75.60 cm for WC (Se and Sp >0.8) and 0.55 for WHtR (Se>0.8; Sp >0.9) for girls. WC and WHtR are accurate for screening of excess adiposity in adolescents.

Abstract

Background: Stunting remains an unresolved nutritional problem in Indonesia, with a prevalence of 21,5% in 2023. Mojokerto Village is one of the areas with a high prevalence, reaching 30%. Factors suspected to be associated with stunting in Mojokerto Village include energy intake, timing of complementary feeding, and birth length. However, to date, no study has simultaneously examined the relationship between energy intake, timing of complementary feeding, and birth length with stunting in this area.Objectives: This study aims to investigate the relationship between energy intake, the timing of complementary feeding, and birth length with the incidence of stunting among toddlers in Mojokerto.Methods: This research employs a quantitative methodology with a cross-sectional design. This study comprised 60 toddlers who satisfied the inclusion criteria. The SQ-FFQ questionnaire gathered information regarding food consumption, the timing of complementary feeding was acquired through interview, and birth length was taken from the MCH book. The nutritional status of toddlers was assessed using the WHO Anthro program, and the results were analyzed employing the α= 5% contingency coefficient test.Results: A correlation was identified between energy intake and the incidence of stunting in Mojoketo (p-value = 0,039). However, no association was found between the timing of complementary feeding and birth length with the incidence of stunting in Mojokerto (p-value = 0,235, p-value = 0,445).Conclusion: Energy intake correlates with stunting in toddlers in Mojokerto. The timing of complementary feeding and birth length were not correlated with stunting in Mojokerto.
