Abstract

This research aims to: (1) produce a multimedia learning module (MLM) based on the local wisdom of the Banga Welu game that is suitable and valid for use in learning, and (2) determine the effectiveness of a multimedia learning module (MLM) based on the local wisdom of the Banga Welu game in increasing motivation students in learning physics. This research is included in Research & Development (R&D) research according to the development design from 4D. The research design used in product trials is a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects in this research consisted of 104 instrument and product testing students. Product validation was carried out using an ideal standard score (Sbi) and General Linear Model (GLM) with a significance level of 0.05 to test the product's effectiveness in increasing students' motivation in learning physics. The validation results of the validators show that the multimedia learning module (MLM) based on the local wisdom of the Banga Welu game is very suitable for use both in terms of the media aspect and the material aspect contained in it. The GLM with effect size result of students' physics learning motivation is 0.242 and is in the medium category. The results of this effect size test show that the multimedia learning module based on the local wisdom of the Banga Welu game effectively motivates students to learn physics.

Abstract

Proficiency in critical thinking is a crucial attribute that students must possess to effectively navigate the advancements in science and technology in the contemporary era of the fourth industrial revolution. Nevertheless, children's critical thinking abilities remain relatively deficient, and receive minimal instruction. Multimedia modules reinforce a discovery learning approach, providing an alternate method for developing critical thinking abilities. This research aims to determine the influence of the multimedia-assisted discovery learning paradigm on the development of students' critical thinking abilities. The research used a quasi-experimental approach, specifically a pretest-posttest control group design. Purposive sampling served as the sampling approach, ensuring that the students in the two classes under comparison shared the same initial competencies. We divided the 68 students in the research sample into two classes: the experimental class and the control class. We assess students' critical thinking abilities by administering an essay examination that evaluates their performance on critical thinking benchmarks. The data analysis for this research employs the independent t-test and the N-gain test. The study reveals that the experimental class outperforms the control class in terms of students' critical thinking abilities. The t-test's statistical significance, with a p-value of 0.000 or less than 0.05, confirms that the multimedia module-assisted discovery learning model has a significant impact on students' critical thinking abilities about momentum and impulse materials. The N-gain analysis of pretest and posttest results for students in the experimental class indicates a moderate rise in the five critical thinking indicators. We can conduct further studies to adapt this learning strategy to different topics. However, it is crucial to recognize that the instructor must invest time and creativity in preparing this multimedia module.

Abstract

Student achievement is very important and meaningful in the world of education, this picture can be seen from the grouping of classrooms, determining talents and interests as well as the level of ability and willingness of students according to the abilities of each individual. This is why researchers conducted research at MIS NW 03 Pancor with data from class 4 as many as 23 students, class 5 as many as 27 students, and class 6 as many as 25 students which were related to variables in student learning achievement. In determining this matter, the school still uses conventional decision-making methods, so it is still difficult to determine student achievement according to their abilities. Thus, schools need to make changes that can help employees and institutions improve education quality by knowing student learning achievements. As for this problem, the author provides a solution that requires a calculation system with the concept of data mining. Mastery of learning material is one of the benchmarks for obtaining student grades and this is one of the policies in determining student achievement. Apart from grades, there are also attitudes and skills which are factors in determining student achievement at school. This can be solved with one of the techniques in data mining that can be used for grouping, namely clustering. The results of this research are a system that can make it easier for schools to quickly and accurately group student achievement using k-means which is optimized using the elbow method with the results obtained, namely cluster 1 "good" with 9 students, cluster 2 "very good" with 6 students, cluster 3 is "fairly good" as many as 8 students and the Davies Bouldin value is 0.711 and the AVG within centroid distance is 18.821 so it can help the school in determining student achievement groups

Abstract

Misconceptions are a common problem that still often occurs in students both at elementary school, high school, and even in college students. Especially science learning with many abstract concepts has a large chance of misconception. Therefore, it is necessary to detect student misconceptions early on. There are several ways to detect misconceptions, one of which is a multilevel diagnostic test that has developed into two tiers, three tiers, and four tiers. This diagnostic test can detect student misconceptions so that later teachers can set the right learning strategy to correct misconceptions and slowly improve student learning outcomes. The type of research used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The location of the research is SMP NWDI Pancor with a sample of 27 students. The data analysis technique uses the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) analysis. The results of the analysis show that the number of students who experience misconceptions in science lessons is more than 70% of the total students. Misconceptions occur most in the material of Work and Energy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes literasi digital dalam pembelajaran fisika. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan model pengembangan instrumen tes oleh (Mardapi, 2008). Prosedur pengembangan terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu: tahap pembuatan instrumen, tahap analisis tes, dan tahap uji coba tes. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik kelas XII MIPA sejumlah 269 peserta didik. Analisis validitas isi menggunakan Validitas Aiken’s V. Analisis empiris menggunakan Teori Respon Butir dengan memanfaatkan program QUEST dan Parscale. Analisis butir yang dilakukan meliputi kecocokan model, reliabilitas butir, dan tingkat kesukaran. Instrumen tes literasi digital yang dikembangkan dinyatakan telah memenuhi syarat untuk digunakan sebagai alat ukur yang valid dan reliabel dengan karakteristik sebagai berikut: nilai validitas isi untuk semua butir soal dinyatakan valid; secara keseluruhan butir soal literasi digital yang dikembangkan fit dengan model Rasch; nilai reliabilitas tes yang dihasilkan masuk dalam kategori istimewa; tingkat kesukaran 9 butir soal secara keseluruhan memiliki tingkat kesukaran yang baik dan beragam (terdapat butir soal yang mudah, sedang, sulit).

Abstract

Virtual laboratories offer a great way to overcome the limitations of physical laboratories and make learning more interactive and meaningful in the modern era. Moreover, some schools have limitations in physical laboratories. On the other hand, teacher skills in managing and using virtual laboratories are still very minimal. Some teachers even do not know about virtual simulations such as PhET or livewire. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the ability of prospective teacher students to utilize science learning technology through training using virtual laboratories created by PhET (Physics Education Technology). This PkM activity was carried out on prospective teacher students at Hamzanwadi University. The number of participants was 40 people and was carried out for 4 days. There are 3 core stages of PkM activities, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The results of the activity showed that participants better understood the functions and benefits of virtual laboratories. They are also better able to create inventive and technology-based science learning plans. Participants also felt satisfied and very satisfied with the training activities

Abstract

Abstract:  The need for evaluation instruments that can measure higher order thinking skills is becoming increasingly important in supporting meaningful learning processes. In fact, many teachers still create tests or questions without paying attention to the categories or indicators of HOTS. Furthermore, following developments in the field of educational evaluation, instrument analysis has used modern techniques, namely Item Response Theory (IRT). The purpose of this community service is to train and guide teachers in compiling test instruments that follow 21st-century learning and their analysis with IRT. This activity was carried out at SD IT Nurul Jihad Asy-Syamil, East Lombok. The implementation of this Community Service was carried out with 2 main stages, namely the preparation stage and the implementation stage. This community service was carried out using two methods, namely lectures and training. In the lecture activity, teachers will be explained about HOTS and how to analyze it, while in the training activity, teachers will be assisted in compiling instruments and processing them using the QUEST application so that teachers can immediately understand. The results of this training show that teachers are satisfied with the training provided and it provides them with knowledge about HOTS and the latest test analysis so that they do not feel left behind.Abstrak: Kebutuhan akan instrumen evaluasi yang mampu mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi menjadi semakin penting dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran yang bermakna. Faktanya, masih banyaknya guru yang hanya membuat tes atau soal tanpa memperhatikan kategori atau indikator dari HOTS tersebut. Selanjutnya, mengikuti perkembangan dalam bidang evaluasi pendidikan, analisis instrumen sudah menggunakan teknik modern yaitu dengan Item Response Theory (IRT). Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini yaitu melatih dan membimbing para guru dalam menyusun instrumen tes yang sesuai dengan pembelajaran abad 21 dan analisisnya dengan IRT. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SD IT Nurul Jihad Asy-Syamil, Lombok Timur. Pelaksanaan PkM ini dilakukan dengan dengan 2 tahapan utama yaitu tahapan persiapan dan tahapan pelaksanaan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan  dengan dua metode yaitu ceramah dan pelatihan. Pada kegiatan ceramah, guru akan dijelaskan tentang HOTS dan cara analisisnya, sedangkan pada kegiatan pelatihan, guru akan didampingi dalam menyusun instrumen dan mengolahnya menggunakan aplikasi QUEST sehingga guru dapat langsung paham. Hasil Pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa guru merasa puas dengan pelatihan yang diberikan dan memberikan mereka pengetahuan tentang HOTS dan analisis tes yang terbaru sehingga mereka merasa tidak tertinggal.

Abstract

Materi kebencanaan mengalami permasalahan berupa rendahnya minat belajar siswa karena dinilai abstrak dan kurang menarik ketika disampaikan secara konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penggunaan video animasi kartun 3D dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa sekolah dasar pada materi mitigasi bencana. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini berangkat dari Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experiment. Lokasi penelitian ini Adalah SDN 1 Glora, Sikur. Sampel penelitian Adalah siswa kelas IV.  Instrumen penelitian berupa angket minat belajar, observasi, dan dokumentasi digunakan untuk mengukur perubahan minat belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan minat belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPA materi mitigasi bencana gempa bumi. Aspek-aspek minat belajar yang mengalami peningkatan meliputi perhatian, ketertarikan, keterlibatan aktif, dan keingintahuan terhadap materi. Penyajian materi melalui video animasi 3D yang menarik, interaktif, dan mudah dipahami terbukti mampu membangun suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan memotivasi siswa untuk terlibat lebih aktif. Dengan demikian, media video animasi kartun 3D dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada topik-topik yang kompleks seperti mitigasi bencana.

Abstract

Konsep gaya sering ditemui dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Di sekolah peserta didik diharapkan mampu memahami dan menerapkan konsep gaya untuk menyelesaikan persoalan fisika. Namun faktanya, masih banyak peserta didik yang mengalami minskonsepsi dan tidak memahami konsep yang dipelajari. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi yang dialami peserta didik pada konsep gaya dan hukum newton menggunakan representasi gambar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 10 peserta didik kelas XI SMA yang diberi soal tes tiga tingkat dan soal tes representasi. Hasil menunjukan bahwa secara keseluruhan untuk semua konsep gaya semua peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi. Peserta didik banyak mengalami miskonsepsi pada konsep gaya pada gerak lurus, perlambatan dan gaya gesek sebesar 40%. Sedangkan untuk kemampuan representasi gambar semua peserta belum mampu mengintepretasikan kalimat pada bentuk gambar dengan benar. Peserta didik belum mampu menyelesaikan persoalan fisika menggunakan representasi gambar dikarenakan miskonsepsi yang dialami peserta didik.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi memberikan dampak yang sangat besar terhadap dunia pendidikan. Di era pendidikan saat ini mulai banyak bermunculan inovasi-inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran, khususnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan kreatif. Ada banyak jenis media pembelajaran seperti e-module, lab virtual, augmented dan virtual reality, serta berbagai media pembelajaran lainnya. Bahkan media pembelajaran berbasis smartphone sudah bermunculan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis smartphone yang layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran dan mampu meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika pada materi pembelajaran momentum dan impuls. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D (Research & Development) dengan desain yang diadopsi dari tipe ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, & Evaluation). Lokasi penelitian ini adalah MA NW Ridhol Walidain, Lombok Timur, NTB. Sampel penelitiannya adalah 3 orang ahli sebagai validator dan 20 orang siswa sebagai subjek penelitian. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan simpangan baku ideal (Sbi) untuk analisis kelayakan dan analisis percentage of agreement untuk analisis reliabilitas instrumen dan analisis N-gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan kreativitas siswa setelah pembelajaran menggunakan media smartphone. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran tergolong sangat layak (valid) dan instrumennya juga reliabel. Hasil analisis N-Gain Menunjukkan, terdapat peningkatan kreativitas verbal dan figural pada kategori sedang dan tinggi setelah siswa melaksanakan pembelajaran berbantuan media pembelajaran berbasis smartphone.
