Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EQ) and spiritual intelligence (SQ) are two intelligences that play a crucial role in shaping a complete human personality according to Islam. The International Community Service Program (PKM) between the Islamic University of Jakarta and the Muhammadiyah Turkiye Branch aims to increase public understanding regarding emotional and spiritual management according to Islamic guidance. The implementation method consisted of educational counseling, discussions, and a Q&A session via webinars attended by Indonesian migrant workers in Turkiye, schoolchildren, and parents in Indonesia. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in participants' awareness and ability to manage negative emotions and a strengthening of spiritual practices such as prayer, dhikr (remembrance of God), reading the Quran, and practicing the values of faith and piety. The four aspects of SQ development emphasized in Islam are al-Qalb (the heart), al-Ruh (spirit), an-Nafs (the soul), and al-Aql (the mind). Thus, this activity contributed to strengthening the character and psychological stability of participants in facing life's challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher’s strategies in implementing the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5) in fourth-grade mathematics learning at SDN 55 Prabumulih. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, validated using triangulation, and analyzed through data reduction and data presentation to obtain an overview of the instructional strategies used by the teacher. The results of the study show that the teacher applied various strategies aligned with the six dimensions of P5. In the dimension of faith and noble character, the teacher linked the material to religious values and fostered habits of honesty and discipline. In the dimension of global diversity, the teacher encouraged students to appreciate differences through group discussions. In the dimension of cooperation, the teacher assigned roles and facilitated student collaboration. In the dimension of independence, the teacher provided independent tasks and opportunities for students to try solving problems individually. In the dimension of critical reasoning, the teacher provided problems that could be solved using various methods and asked students to explain the reasoning behind their chosen strategies. In the dimension of creativity, the teacher allowed students to discover unique ways to solve problems and engage in simple projects. Overall, the teacher’s strategies successfully integrated P5 into mathematics learning and supported the development of students’ character and thinking skills

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of Islamic communication within multicultural spaces through the film 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa. The focus is directed toward visual symbols such as mosques and the hijab, verbal signs in the form of dialogues about Qur’anic recitation and greetings of peace, as well as the narrative of the main character’s religious experiences that portray interactions between Muslims and European society. The method employed is qualitative with Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach, which interprets signs through three layers: denotation, connotation, and myth. Data were obtained through documentation by repeatedly viewing the film and supported by academic literature related to Islamic communication, the mediatization of religion, and semiotics. The findings reveal that the film represents Islamic communication in a persuasive, inclusive, and adaptive manner, functioning as a medium of intercultural and interreligious interaction. At the denotative level, Islamic symbols appear as religious identity, while at the connotative level, they affirm values of tolerance, harmony, and solidarity. At the mythic level, the film constructs an ideological narrative that Islam is a universal religion capable of engaging in dialogue with diversity. This study highlights the significant role of popular media in constructing discourses of Islamic communication within multicultural spaces.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges faced by an English teacher and the strategies used to overcome them at MA NWDI Lepak, recognized as the best school in a rural area of East Lombok. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research explored the teacher’s real experiences through classroom observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed three major challenges in English teaching: low student motivation, varied levels of language proficiency, and limited learning facilities. To address these, the teacher implemented adaptive strategies such as brainstorming, elicitation, scaffolding, group learning, differentiated support, and delayed error correction. These approaches demonstrated creativity and student-centered teaching that fostered learning despite infrastructural constraints. The study concludes that the success of English teaching in rural schools depends not on advanced facilities but on the teacher’s creativity, innovation, and adaptability, and recommends that rural teacher development programs emphasize context-based pedagogical training to enhance effective, communicative, and contextualized English instruction.
