Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) Spatial Distribution Patterns of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sungai Beliung Village, Pontianak City, (2) Characteristics of MSMEs in the area, and (3) Management efforts undertaken by business actors. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach assisted by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) through spatial analysis using Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN), as well as data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the analysis show that the spatial distribution pattern of MSMEs is clustered with a T value = 0.032108, z-score = -10.14, and p-value = 0.000000 which indicates a non-random distribution pattern and is statistically significant. MSMEs in Sungai Beliung Village tend to be concentrated in areas with high accessibility such as main roads, markets, and densely populated areas. The majority of MSMEs operate in the informal sector with a family-based work system and are managed directly by the owner. The main challenges faced include rising raw material prices, limited capital, and high market competition. Despite this, MSMEs are able to survive through product innovation and adaptation to consumer needs. This study concludes that MSMEs play a crucial role in supporting the local economy and have the potential to grow with support from access to capital, training, and sustainable digitalization.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how spatial thinking skills are in geography learning at SMAN 10 Pontianak. The focus of this study refers to students' spatial thinking skills. The research method used is a quantitative method, a descriptive approach with data collection techniques through Question Tests. The research sample consisted of four classes, namely students in grades XIA, XIB, XIC, and XID. With a total of 92 out of 102 populations. The results of the study show that the spatial thinking skills of grade XI in geography learning at SMAN 10 Pontianak are in the sufficient category with an average score of 72. The average score for each indicator is: Comparison 69, Aura 71, Region 71, Hierarchy 65, Transition 72, Analogy 75, Pattern 75, and Association 58. This study emphasizes the need to improve the learning methods used.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution of rice fields utilized as green bean planting areas in Matang Danau Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a spatial approach by integrating remote sensing data, field surveys, and questionnaire analysis. Spatial data were processed to identify land-use patterns and calculate the percentage of green bean cultivation areas in each hamlet. The results indicate that the utilization of rice fields for green bean cultivation is unevenly distributed across the village. Certain hamlets show a high intensity of land use, while others utilize rice fields on a limited scale. Factors influencing this spatial variation include soil fertility, water availability, cropping patterns, economic considerations, and farmers’ technical capacities. The study concludes that Matang Danau Village has significant potential for developing green bean cultivation through a rice–green bean rotation system. However, improved land management strategies and equitable planning are required to optimize land use sustainably. These findings contribute to spatial agricultural studies and provide practical input for local governments and communities in promoting sustainable land-use planning.
