Abstract

Currently, the pharmaceutical mathematics class has implemented the case method. However, many students still experience difficulties in organizing problem-solving in solving problems offered in the form of case studies. 70% of students have not focused on the problems offered during learning activities due to the lack of guidelines for solving the problems discussed. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a needs analysis of student worksheets based on the case method to develop problem-solving skills. This study employed a quantitative descriptive method, involving lecturers teaching the pharmaceutical mathematics course and 68 students of the pharmacy study program at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya as the research samples. Data collection techniques used were interviews and questionnaires with percentage formulas. The results of the interviews indicate that lecturers need to create student worksheets based on the case method to direct the learning process. Moreover, the questionnaire results showed that students really need case method-based student worksheets as a guide in solving problems in case studies.  This study is an initial study for the development of student worksheets based on the case-based pharmaceutical mathematics course to develop students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Publikasi merupakan tahap akhir yang penting dilakukan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah dan merupkan cara agar karya atau hasil temuan dapat dikenal secara luas, sehingga dapat menambah dan mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan. Guru dituntut tidak hanya mengajar tetapi juga menghasilkan karya atau temuan. Salah satu bentuk pengembangan profesi guru adalah pengembangan kemampuan guru dalam membuat Artikel tulis ilmiah. Kemampuan ini dapat dilihat dari publikasi para guru yang dimuat dalam berbagai media, khususnya jurnal ilmiah terindeks. Namun sebagian besar guru tidak melakukan publikasi dengan alasan karena membutuhkan waktu dan tenaga, sehingga guru hanya menyusun karya ilmiah tanpa melakukan publikasi. Program pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh program studi pendidikan matematika Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya dikemas dalam bentuk memberikan sosialisasi mengenai publikasi artikel ilmiah agar mampu memberi pengetahuan dan memotivasi guru dalam melakukan publikasi karya artikel ilmiah ke dalam jurnal. Selain hanya memberi sosialisasi, program pengebdian ini juga dilakukan dalam wujud pelatihan publikasi karya artikel ilmiah ke dalam jurnal terindek secara langsung sehingga nantinya guru-guru di SMK Negeri 1 Jetis Mojokerto terlatih dan terbiasa melakukan sendiri dalam publikasi artikel ilmiah ke jurnal terindeks serta mempu meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait dengan publikasi artikel ilmiah

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi mahasiswa yang masih kurang memiliki self concept dalam mempelajari mata kuliah operasional riset. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perkembangan kemampuan diri dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan sistem pengambilan keputusan yang dimiliki mahasiswa secara mandiri. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 49 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya, terdiri dari angkatan 2017-B dan 2017-C. Metode penelitian yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas yang difokuskan pada proses perbaikan pembelajaran secara mandiri melalui self-regulated learning. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes tulis sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan perhitungan persentase nilai rata-rata dengan batasan persentase nilai rata-rata minimal 75% maka pelaksanaan proses perbaikan dapat dihentikan. Temuan dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses perbaikan pembelajaran melalui self-regulated learning mampu mengarahkan mahasiswa untuk belajar mandiri secara aktif dan memberikan motivasi dalam berkompetisi secara positif sehingga memperoleh hasil capaian pembelajaran yang lebih baik. This research is motivated by the condition of students who still lack self-concept in studying operational research subjects. The purpose of this study is to determine the development of the ability to self in solving the problem of decision-making systems that are owned by students independently. This study was implemented at the University of PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya, participated by 49 undergraduate students majoring in Mathematics Education, 2017-B and 2017-C. The research method used is classroom action research focused on the process of improving learning independently through self-regulated learning. Quantitative data were obtained through written tests while qualitative data were obtained through observation and interviews. Analysis of the data used in this study using the calculation of the percentage of the average value with a limit of the average percentage value of at least 75%, then the implementation of the improvement process can be stopped. The finding of this study indicates that the learning improvement process through self-regulated learning can direct the students to actively self-learn and motivate them to compete positively to obtain a better learning outcome.

Abstract

Prokrastinasi akademik adalah perilaku menunda dalam menuntaskan sebuah tugas yang berkorelasi dengan akademik sehingga mengakibatkan keterlambatan dalam menyerahkan tugas bahkan mengalami kegagalan dalam menyelesaikannya. Seseorang yang mempunyai kebiasaan melakukan prokrastinasi akademik biasanya tidak bisa mengolah waktu dengan baik. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan usaha untuk menghindari terjadinya prokrasinasi akademik dengan cara memperbaiki pengelolaan waktu. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeteksi hubungan antara prokrastinasi akademik dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Pada penelitian ini metode yang digunakan yakni kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua kelas X SMA Al-Islam Krian. Untuk pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan cluster random sampling dan diperoleh kelas X IPS 3 sebagai sampel penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala prokrastinasi akademik dan tes hasil belajar matematika siswa. Analisis data dengan menggunakan pengujian korelasi Product Moment Person dengan uji prasyarat memakai uji normalitas dan uji linieritas. Dari hasil analisis data, hipotesis yang berbunyi “terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara prokrastinasi akademik dengan hasil belajar siswa” diterima. Sehingga dapat diartikan bahwa semakin tinggi prokrastinasi akademik maka semakin rendah hasil belajar matematika siswa. Namun sebaliknya jika prokrastinasi akademik rendah maka semakin tinggi hasil belajar matematika siswa.

Abstract

Personalized teaching materials are an innovation in answering the diversity of student characteristics in higher education. However, its implementation still faces challenges. This study aims to analyse the trends and identify research gaps of personalized teaching materials usages. The method used is a critical literature review of articles from internationally reputable databases. The results of the study show two main findings: (1) there is a transformation in the use of personalized teaching materials in three phases such as: technical and standardization phase; the dynamic pedagogical and adaptive integration phase, and the artificial intelligence and holistic welfare phase; (2) There are four main research gaps such as: inconsistencies in measurement methodology, obstacles to contextual implementation, conceptual ambiguity of personal needs, and limited lecturer readiness. The most valuable finding from  review that the use of PTM where the implementation no longer lies in the "what" is learned but in the "how" the system is intelligently able to empathize with the cognitive and emotional state of learners to create a truly meaningful instructional experience. These are  theoretical contribution in clarifying the evolution of the concept of PTM as well as practical contributions to the development of adaptive learning designs in higher education.

Abstract

E-books and G-Sites are increasingly commonly used in geometry learning in elementary schools; therefore, it is necessary to conduct more intensive research to ensure the effectiveness of this digital media in accordance with the characteristics of students.  This study investigated the effect of these media on Grade 4 students who have different levels of visual-spatial intelligence on their understanding of the subject of geometry. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design, pretest-post-test. The research subjects were 62 students.  This study showed that (1) G-Sites is significantly more effective than e-books in improving geometry learning; (2) students who have high visual-spatial intelligence have a better understanding of geometry than those who have low visual-spatial intelligence; and (3) there is an interaction between digital media and students’ visual-spatial intelligence on the understanding of geometry.  G-Sites are a significantly more effective medium for students with low visual-spatial intelligence.  The conclusion is that the use of digital media for geometry material should consider students’ visual-spatial intelligence.  We suggest that the use of e-books should be combined with concrete media. Concrete media can facilitate the process of externalization from 2D representation to 3D understanding, thereby reducing the cognitive load experienced by low-visual-spatial students.  It is necessary to conduct research by considering other characteristics of students.
