Abstract

Artikel ini membahas komunikasi yang dijalankan oleh umat Hindu dalam upaya pemertahanan tradisi Ngretes di Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Ngretes merupakan suatu tradisi keagamaan yang berkaitan dengan ritual mendoakan anak dalam kandungan yang memiliki nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dan mengandung makna spiritual bagi umat Hindu. Komunikasi menjadi kunci utama dalam memastikan kelangsungan dan keberlanjutan tradisi Ngretes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk memahami konteks komunikasi yang terjadi dalam pemertahanan tradisi Ngretes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa umat Hindu di Lombok Utara aktif terlibat dalam berbagai bentuk komunikasi untuk menjaga keaslian dan keberlanjutan tradisi Ngretes. Komunikasi interpersonal antara pemuka adat, tokoh agama, dan masyarakat menjadi landasan utama dalam mentransmisikan nilai-nilai kepercayaan dan tata cara ritual Ngretes. Selain itu, komunikasi melalui media sosial dan acara keagamaan juga digunakan untuk menyebarkan informasi dan memperkuat solidaritas dalam menjaga warisan budaya ini. Pengaruh globalisasi dan perubahan pola hidup masyarakat modern menjadi salah satu tantangan pemertahanan tradisi ini. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi komunikasi yang dapat diterapkan oleh umat Hindu, pemerintah, dan pihak terkait untuk menghadapi tantangan tersebut. Komunikasi yang efektif dan terintegrasi memegang peranan krusial dalam upaya pemertahanan tradisi Ngretes di Lombok Utara. Dengan menjalin kolaborasi antara berbagai pihak dan memanfaatkan berbagai bentuk komunikasi, umat Hindu dapat menjaga keberlanjutan warisan budaya mereka serta merawat identitas lokal yang kaya akan nilai-nilai keagamaan dan kearifan tradisional.

Abstract

This study highlights the dynamics of intercultural communication within the environment of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram dormitory, which serves as a residence for students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Located at Jl. Pancaka No. 7B Mataram, this dormitory is an integral part of the IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram campus, accommodating students from various regions of Indonesia, including Java, Bali, Maluku, and Lombok. The primary focus of the research is to identify, observe, and explore the dynamics of intercultural communication, the language proficiency of both students and faculty, and intercultural awareness in shaping harmonious and inclusive multicultural communication among dormitory residents. The research findings indicate that a high level of intercultural awareness among dormitory residents enables them to adapt their communication styles according to their respective cultural backgrounds, thereby reducing the risk of misunderstandings or miscommunication. Furthermore, this level of awareness also strengthens cooperation, tolerance, and harmony within the dormitory environment through activities such as communal work and collective prayers, creating a warm, inclusive, and safe atmosphere for all residents, both students and faculty alike. Observations of various activities conducted in IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram dormitory also illustrate the importance of this intercultural awareness in fostering harmonious and supportive relationships among dormitory residents. Thus, this research provides deep insights into how the dynamics of intercultural communication contribute to the formation of identity and social interaction within the rich cultural diversity context of Indonesia, as reflected in the IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram dormitory.

Abstract

This study aims to examine educational tourism communication in strengthening local cultural awareness among early childhood students at Pratama Widyalaya Dharma Kumara, Mataram City. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that educational tourism communication is implemented through the introduction of folklore, traditional games, and visits to local cultural destinations. Children actively engage in experience-based activities that reinforce their sense of identity, pride, and concern for local culture. The study formulates a direct interaction-based communication model that involves teachers, educational media, and experiential learning approaches. This model effectively builds cultural awareness from an early age while supporting the promotion of educational tourism. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for the development of educational tourism programs in other early childhood institutions

Abstract

Social media has now become an integral part of the communication strategy of religious educational institutions, including Hindu pasraman in Lombok. However, its utilization has not been optimal as a means of education and dissemination of dharma values ​​digitally. Many pasraman still face limitations in managing interesting and relevant content for the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the communication management of pasraman on social media, especially Facebook, by highlighting content patterns, upload intensity, and challenges and opportunities in developing creative communication based on Hindu religion. This study uses a qualitative method through observation of five Facebook accounts of pasraman in Lombok during the period from January to April. Data were analyzed based on content categories and information presentation patterns. The results of the study show that the majority of pasraman still use social media as a space for documenting activities, dominated by uploading photos and reports. Meanwhile, the use of interactive visual formats such as videos, reels, and creative narratives is still very limited. The main challenges include limited human resources, minimal training in digital content management, and cultural resistance to digital transformation. Nevertheless, social media has great potential as an educational and spiritual medium that can strengthen the religious identity of the younger generation of Hindus. Therefore, it is recommended that each pasraman form a social media management team and strengthen community-based digital collaboration to optimize religious communication in the digital era. Abstrak Media sosial kini menjadi bagian integral dari strategi komunikasi lembaga pendidikan keagamaan, termasuk pasraman Hindu di Lombok. Namun, pemanfaatannya belum optimal sebagai sarana edukasi dan diseminasi nilai-nilai dharma secara digital. Banyak pasraman masih menghadapi keterbatasan dalam mengelola konten yang menarik dan relevan bagi generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen komunikasi pasraman di media sosial, khususnya Facebook, dengan menyoroti pola konten, intensitas unggahan, serta tantangan dan peluang dalam pengembangan komunikasi kreatif berbasis keagamaan Hindu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui observasi terhadap lima akun Facebook pasraman di Lombok selama periode Januari hingga April. Data dianalisis berdasarkan kategori konten dan pola penyajian informasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas pasraman masih menggunakan media sosial sebagai ruang dokumentasi kegiatan, didominasi oleh unggahan foto dan laporan. Sementara itu, pemanfaatan format visual interaktif seperti video, reels, dan narasi kreatif masih sangat terbatas. Tantangan utama mencakup keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, minimnya pelatihan pengelolaan konten digital, dan resistensi kultural terhadap transformasi digital. Meskipun demikian, media sosial memiliki potensi besar sebagai wahana edukatif dan spiritual yang dapat memperkuat identitas keagamaan generasi muda Hindu. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar setiap pasraman membentuk tim pengelola media sosial dan memperkuat kolaborasi digital berbasis komunitas untuk mengoptimalkan komunikasi keagamaan di era digital.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategy for managing the official facebook account of the Government of Nusa Tenggara Barat (Pemprov NTB) by the Public Information and Communication (IKP) division. The use of social media, particularly facebook, has become an essential tool for delivering public information in line with the mandate of Law No. 14 of 2008 on Public Information disclosure. This research adopts a qualitative approach using literature review, documentation, and direct observation methods. The findings reveal that strategic content planning, the use of data analytics, and engaging visual content are key to supporting information transparency. Additionally, rapid responses to public interactions and varied content, such as infographics and short videos, help increase public participation. This strategy not only strengthens information transparency but also builds public trust in the government. The study recommends optimizing social media management to create effective two-way communication between the government and the public.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang strategi branding dalam promosi penjualan produk gula aren di Desa Gegurik Kecamatan Bayan Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Pendampingan strategi branding kepada peserta bertujuan untuk memberikan keterampilan dalam memasarkan gula aren, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengenalan dan daya tarik produk, sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan penjualan. Hasil pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa kehadiran citra merek atau branding mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap promosi penjualan gula aren. Awalnya penjualan hanya terjadi berdasarkan permintaan, namun setelah adanya perubahan desain kemasan dan penerapan strategi branding, terjadi peningkatan penjualan yang signifikan. Dahulu hanya mengandalkan promosi dari mulut ke mulut dengan jangkauan pasar terbatas yang hanya terbatas pada Desa Gegurik, namun kini penerapan strategi branding telah meningkatkan pengakuan Desa Gegurik di kalangan konsumen. Keberhasilan penerapan branding memperluas pemahaman dan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap produk gula aren dari Desa Gegurik sehingga memberikan dampak positif terhadap penerimaan dan popularitas produk gula aren Desa Gegurik Kecamatan Bayan Kabupaten Lombok Utara.

Abstract

This study examines the digital communication strategies of Hindu mass organizations (ormas) in Lombok in building religious representation through the Instagram platform. Social media has become a new potential space to convey Hindu religious teachings more widely and interactively. This study analyzes the content of the official accounts of four Hindu mass organizations, namely PHDI, KMHDI, Prajaniti, and Peradah, with a focus on the types of messages, visual forms, and communication patterns used. The results of the study show that Prajaniti Lombok is the most active and strategic mass organization in building religious representation digitally. Through educational reel content and attractive visuals, Prajaniti is able to raise narratives of Hindu teachings in a contextual and relevant manner to young audiences. Meanwhile, PHDI and KMHDI are still dominant in the use of informative and ceremonial content, while Peradah tends to be limited to formal speech. This study suggests the importance of strengthening the digital capacity of Hindu mass organizations in Lombok through training in managing social media based on religious narratives, as well as collaboration in producing creative and contextual content. An effective digital communication strategy will strengthen the role of Hindu mass organizations in maintaining the existence of dharma teachings amidst the dynamics of today's digital space.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how the TikTok account Calonarang Taksu implements communication strategies to deliver Hindu religious educational content, and to assess the extent to which these contents effectively enhance the audience’s understanding and spiritual awareness. A qualitative approach using content analysis was employed to examine three purposively selected videos, each with over one million views during the period of January to March 2024. Data were gathered through direct observation and digital documentation, and analyzed using the Uses and Gratifications theoretical framework. The findings indicate that the account conveys educational messages through religious visual symbols, performance dramatization, the use of local languages, and the depiction of sacred moments in Balinese Hindu rituals. The content addresses five dimensions of audience needs: informational, emotional entertainment, personal identity, social connection, and emotional expression. Overall, the content not only entertains but also strengthens cultural identity, fosters spiritual reflection, and facilitates meaningful religious experiences in digital spaces. Therefore, TikTok can be regarded as a potential platform for contextually transforming the delivery of religious teachings in the digital era.

Abstract

This study discusses how Hindu teenagers express their cultural and religious identity through traditional clothing that they display on social media, especially Tik Tok. In today's digital era, social media has become an important place for young people to design and convey their self-image, including through visual presentations such as traditional clothing. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis of four posts from one account of a Hindu teenage girl who shows herself wearing Balinese traditional clothing. The purpose of this study is to understand the form of expressive communication that emerges from the visualization of traditional clothing styles and the symbolic meanings contained therein. This study shows that the traditional clothing styles displayed not only function as cultural preservation, but also as a medium for conveying religious values, ethnic identity, and pride in Balinese Hindu cultural heritage. Tiktok social media in this case allows the spread of these cultural messages to a wider audience by building a positive narrative about the identity of Hindu teenagers amidst the influence of cultural globalization. This study contributes to the understanding of how teenagers use social media as a tool for expressive cultural communication, as well as the importance of maintaining the continuity of traditions through digital media that are relevant to the lives of the younger generation.
