Abstract

The use of plants as a method of herbal treatment is a step that is currently being developed by many researchers to produce effective and minimal side effects. Turmeric is one of the most widely used cooking spices by the people of Indonesia. The main ingredients possessed by turmeric include curcumin (77%), demethoxy (17%) and bisdemethoxy (3%). One of the pharmaceutical preparations with a topical delivery system is a cream preparation which is a semi-solid dosage form, containing one or more drug ingredients dissolved or dispersed in an appropriate base material. Turmeric can be formulated in various preparations, one of which is a cream dosage form. The advantage of using cream preparations is that they are practical, easy to wash and clean. The purpose of this study was to formulate turmeric extract in a cream preparation. The results of the evaluation test showed that the formula produced a cream with a yellow-orange color, a characteristic odor of turmeric, and a preparation with a semisolid cream texture, had good homogeneity, good dispersing ability, the pH of the preparation was 5.84; 6.32; 6.24; 5,94;5,94 and the type of emulsion is O/W (Oil in Water).

Abstract

Cosmetics are now mandatory for most women. Various natural ingredients have now been used as basic ingredients for beauty treatments. This study aimed to formulate and determine the effectiveness of body scrub cream preparations containing ethanolic extract of N. sativa and coffee grounds as antiaging. The skin antiaging was divided into five formulas: F0 (cream base), F1 (coffee ground 5%), F2 [coffee ground 5% + Ethanol Extract of N. sativa (EENS) 2%], F3 (coffee ground 5% + EENS 3.5%) and F4 (coffee ground 5% + EENS 5%). The body scrub cream preparations were subjected to organoleptic, homogeneity, emulsion type, and pH evaluation. The irritation test and antiaging activity were evaluated by using a skin analyzer. The body scrub was stable in 12-week storage. The result showed that there was no irritation on the volunteers’ skin. The body scrub cream with the highest antiaging activity was the F4 formula. It showed 9.6% for increasing skin moisture, 17.68% for increasing skin smoothness, 11.42% in reducing the size of pores and 12.84% in reducing the number of spots.

Abstract

Kreatifitas dalam mengelola lahan pekarangan oleh Masyarakat perlu dorongan dan sosialisasi terutama para penyuluh lapangan pertanian. Ketahanan pangan Masyarakat sangat mudah diucapkan tetapi sulit untuk diterapkan karena perlu komitmen para petani dan pemasaran pasca panen. Pengabdian Masyarakat dilaksanakan di Di Kelompok Tani Margo Utama Kelurahan Bukuan Kecamatan Palaran Provinsi Kalimantan Timur, pada hari Selasa tanggal 27 September 2022. Peserta masyarakat Kelompok Tani Margo Utama Kelurahan Bukuan Kecamatan Palaran. Pertanian pekarangan merupakan salah satu strategi baru dalam meningkatkan kecukupan dan ketahanan pangan masyarakat sekaligus sebagai sumber pendapatan keluarga. Apabila pertanian dapat dioptimalkan fungsinya, maka hal tersebut akan berkontribusi nyata terhadap kecukupan dan ketahanan pangan masyarakat sekaligus dapat meningkatkan tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat. Masyarakat telah sadar bahwa memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan sangat penting untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan pada tingkat keluarga dalam skala kecil dan lebih luas untuk semua Masyarakat.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the role of Public Broadcasting Institutions around the world in delivering accurate and educational information to the public about the Corona virus outbreak which has become a global pandemic. This research uses a literature research approach by collecting various literature such as scientific journals, government reports, NGO reports, and annual reports of Public Broadcasting Institutions. This study uses a qualitative inductive logic-based content analysis method offered by Phillips and Marrying. The findings in this paper illustrate that Public Service Broadcasting, which is a broadcasting institution that must exist in every sovereign country, plays an important role as a public media in reporting, disseminating information, educating and persuading the public to jointly take care of themselves and fight the coronavirus which has become a global pandemic with the following approaches: First, Série Le virus (Senegal) presents drama as a strategy to attract public interest in understand the impact of Covid-19. Second, RAI (Italy) launched a special program called 'Unno Mattina'. Third, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) adopts a factual approach in reporting the Coronavirus by relying on verified information. In addition, ABC also broadcasts news and information about the development of the Corona virus with a very high volume. Fourth, the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) provides reliable information through the operation of the Integrated News Room service for 24 hours a day for COVID-19 since March 4, 2020. The main goal is to provide complete, trusted, and in-depth information to citizens. Fifth, CBC Radio (Canada) aired the series 'The Current' which explains the social and economic impact of the Corona virus in daily life.

Abstract

Society 5.0: A People-centric Super-smart Society" is a book that explains the concept of society developed by the Japanese government, which puts forward advanced technology and human-machine collaboration to improve people's quality of life. The book is written by experts and practitioners from various fields, including technology, economics, social, and politics with the editors of Hitachi-UTokyo Laboratory (H-UTokyo Lab.), The University of Tokyo and Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Many authors have contributed to the writing of this book, including Toshihiko Koseki (former Executive Vice President, The University of Tokyo), Shinobu Yoshimura (Vice President, The University of Tokyo), Norihiro Suzuki (Vice President and Executive Officer, CTO, Hitachi, Ltd.), and Shinji Yamada (General Manager, Center for Exploratory Research,  Hitachi, Ltd.), Takashi Haga and Miho Sugimoto (the University of Tokyo's University Corporate Relations Department), Mayumi Fukuyama and Tomiko Kinoshita (the Hitachi R&D Group's Technology Strategy Office) The book is an expicution of the results of an in-depth study of a long process of joint research laboratory between Hitachi and The University of Tokyo in 2018. This book is written in 8 separate chapters but becomes a complete unity to explain the phenomenon raised in the title of this book. Abstract

This community service program aims to provide education on the responsible use of social media, often referred to as smart social media, and to increase students’ awareness of the risks and consequences of cyberbullying. The program targeted Generation Z, specifically 500 students from MTs Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru who are in early adolescence, a developmental stage that is highly vulnerable to peer influence and digital interactions. The activities were carried out using a participatory educational approach through material presentations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and reflective dialogue. The socialization focused on the forms, impacts, and dangers of cyberbullying, as well as ethical principles aligned with Islamic values to help students distinguish appropriate and inappropriate behavior in digital spaces. The reflection results indicated that several students had experienced cyberbullying, while others normalized such behavior due to limited understanding of its harmful effects. After the program, students demonstrated improved comprehension regarding the dangers of cyberbullying and expressed a commitment to being more cautious in their digital communication, including choosing words carefully and behaving more responsibly on social media. These findings highlight the importance of digital literacy education and anti-cyberbullying initiatives in fostering a safe, ethical, and empathetic digital culture among adolescents. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai penggunaan media sosial secara bijak (smart social media) serta meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai dampak dan risiko cyberbullying. Sasaran kegiatan adalah Generasi Z, yaitu siswa MTs Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru berjumlah 500 orang yang berada pada rentang usia remaja, sebuah fase perkembangan yang masih rentan terhadap pengaruh lingkungan pergaulan dan interaksi digital. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan pendidikan partisipatif yang melibatkan sesi pemaparan materi, diskusi, tanya jawab, dan refleksi bersama. Sosialisasi difokuskan pada bahaya cyberbullying, bentuk-bentuk perundungan digital, serta prinsip etika komunikasi sesuai nilai-nilai Islam agar siswa mampu membedakan perilaku yang diperbolehkan dan dilarang di ruang digital. Hasil refleksi menunjukkan bahwa sejumlah siswa pernah menjadi korban cyberbullying, sementara sebagian lainnya belum memahami dampak serius dari tindakan tersebut sehingga cenderung menormalisasikannya. Setelah kegiatan berlangsung, siswa menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai konsekuensi cyberbullying dan berkomitmen untuk lebih berhati-hati dalam berinteraksi di media sosial, termasuk menjaga bahasa tulis, menghindari perilaku merendahkan, serta menggunakan media digital secara lebih bertanggung jawab. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa edukasi dan sosialisasi mengenai literasi digital dan anti‐cyberbullying sangat penting bagi remaja dalam membangun budaya komunikasi yang sehat dan beretika.
