Abstract

The Training for Enhancing Digital Skills of English Teachers through Microsoft 365 for Education in Takalar Regency aims to improve teachers’ digital skills in utilizing technology for learning. The training materials include the use of various Microsoft 365 applications, such as Teams, Forms, OneDrive, Sway, and Stream, as well as Office Online applications like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Participants were allowed to learn and use these applications. In addition to improving instructors' digital proficiency, this training helped make learning more dynamic and interesting for pupils. In general, this program is anticipated to enhance Takalar Regency's educational standards, especially concerning technology-based learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the use of Integrated Marketing Communication in increasing consumer interest at PT Antavaya Tour and Travel Makassar. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. It analyzed the language functions used by staff PT. Antavaya Tour and Travel Makassar, with reference to the list of language function put forward by Amin (2014) and Halliday (1973). The study also analyzed the impact of using Integrated Marketing Communication in attracting consumer interest. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The language functions found in increasing consumer interest are asking questions, persuading, informing, asking for confirmation, inviting, explaining, and summarizing. The findings from this study show that the impact of good use of Integrated Marketing Communication such as advertising, sales promotion, public relations, personal selling and direct marketing contributes positively to increasing consumer interest. Implementation of Integrated Marketing Communications has a big influence on sales and increases consumer interest.

Abstract

This study explores the students’ perceptions of using podcasts to improve their English-speaking skills at Business English Communication program. The study is motivated by the growing integration of technology in education, particularly in language learning, where podcast offer a flexible and engaging medium. Using a qualitative approach, the research investigated how students perceive the effectiveness, interest, and relevance of podcasts in enhancing their speaking abilities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed to understand the perceived benefits and challenges. The findings indicate that students generally view podcasts positively, appreciating their convenience and the opportunity to hear authentic English. However, some challenges, such as accessibility and the need for self-discipline, were noted. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of media-based learning and provides practical insights for educators and curriculum developers aiming to incorporate digital media into language instruction effectively.

Abstract

Permasalahan rendahnya kompetensi bahasa Inggris akademik di kalangan dosen, khususnya pada aspek yang diukur melalui tes berstandar internasional seperti IELTS, masih menjadi tantangan di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris dosen melalui pelatihan IELTS selama 20 pertemuan dengan pendekatan berbasis level (intermediate dan advance). Metode pelatihan meliputi placement test, pembelajaran diferensiatif sesuai level, latihan intensif, simulasi ujian, serta evaluasi berjenjang melalui post-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor pada seluruh keterampilan, terutama pada listening dan speaking. Pengelompokan kelas terbukti efektif dalam memfasilitasi kebutuhan belajar yang berbeda-beda. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi bahasa Inggris dosen dan dapat direplikasi sebagai model pengembangan berkelanjutan di lingkungan perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

A marketing process that uses media features as a sales facility starts with product branding and ends with expanding sales reach is referred to as digital marketing or digitization capabilities. This research aims to find out what market digitalization applications used. Then, this research considered of implementation digitalization in selling transactions, payment systems, and market management, it also discussed the impact of market digitalization in carrying out selling activities and payment transaction in Kampung Baru Public Market Makassar. Descriptive qualitative method has been used in this research. Interviews were conducted with traders and a staff using purposive technique. Observations were made in the field as well as observing objects through the application platform. This study found the types of applications used in the market area are divided into sales applications, payment transactions, and market management applications. The use of this application originated from the COVID-19 pandemic which required activities to be carried out from home. Some of the impacts felt for traders include escalate sales, enlarge sales channels, improving promotion of the products and services, effective time and sales, and accelerate the processing of billing, verification, and payment.

Abstract

This study is the correlational research that aimed to know the correlation between business English vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of business English communication students. Business English vocabulary mastery as independent variable and reading comprehension as dependent variable. The population in this study is the students of Business English Communication study program class 2019, 2020, and 2021. The sample consist of 60 students. In doing this research, the data was obtained by business English vocabulary and reading comprehension tests. The analysis’s final result shows a positive correlation between students’ business English vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension. The result shows that the students’ average level of business English vocabulary mastery was 68.91, and got fair scores in the table of business English vocabulary mastery rate scores. Meanwhile, the students’ reading comprehension score was 59.41 and also got fair scores in the table of reading comprehension rate scores. The result of Pearson Product Moment analysis, the correlation score was 0.981. Based on the table of criteria, it can be inferred from the index correlation table that the level of correlation is between 0.90-1.00 and the r product moment was in the very high correlation category. According to the interpretation of the correlation, the value of 0.981 is higher than rtable (0.250) at the 5% significance table. It means that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Based on the findings above, the researcher concluded that the students’ business English vocabulary mastery correlated to their reading comprehension.

Abstract

The event product marketing strategy is one of the marketing strategies implemented through organizing events that aim to promote brands, products, or services. By knowing the marketing strategy, it is hoped that the marketing activities carried out can achieve goals effectively and efficiently. Companies must know the stages of implementing marketing strategies, starting from external and internal factors, to identify factors that become opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses. The purpose of this study is to examine how Eventa Organizer implemented the 4P marketing mix strategy. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out using observation, documentation, and interviews. In this study, the objects of research were two, namely the director and employees of the marketing division of the event organizer. The results of this study show that the 4P marketing mix strategy used by Eventa Organizer is good. In the implementation of the marketing mix strategy, Eventa Organizer has had stable sales since the company was initiated so the products produced by Eventa Organizer make successful events, where the objectives of the event are achieved and the participants or guests are satisfied with the experience they get.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model Problem Based Learning terhadap tingkat pemahaman siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tuntutan pembelajaran abad 21 yang menekankan pada keaktifan siswa selama proses belajar sehingga peneliti mencoba untuk mengaplikasikan salah satu model pembelajaran abad 21 yaitu Problem Based Learning kepada siswa yang belum pernah melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan model tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa MTSS AL-Irsyad kelas VII dan IX dengan karakteristik yang sama dan terbiasa melaksanakan pembelajaran berbasis teacher-centered. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dapat memengaruhi keaktifan siswa yang berdampak pada meningkatnya pemahaman dan hasil belajar. Di siklus I persentase siswa dengan hasil belajar di atas Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal sebanyak 64% dengan rata-rata nilai 74 dan meningkat di siklus II menjadi 80,5% dengan rata-rata nilai 83

Abstract

This community service program focused on training vocational school teachers in developing interactive digital modules based on mobile learning. It was conducted at SMK Handayani Gowata, Gowa Regency, in response to the limited use of digital media in vocational learning and teachers’ difficulties in creating engaging and mobile-accessible materials. Fifteen teachers participated in the program, which involved conceptual presentations and hands-on practice using Canva and Heyzine platforms. The evaluation showed that participants successfully produced interactive digital modules integrated with YouTube videos and QR code-based quizzes. Most participants found the training materials relevant and easy to implement. This program not only improved teachers' digital design skills but also contributed to institutional transformation toward technology-integrated teaching.

Abstract

Studi ini mengeksplorasi motivasi untuk belajar bahasa Inggris di antara siswa jurusan non-bahasa Inggris, dengan fokus khusus pada motivator instrumental dan integratif. Dengan menggunakan kuesioner, data dikumpulkan dari 137 peserta di Universitas Negeri Makassar untuk menilai motivasi mereka untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Motivasi instrumental mengacu pada manfaat praktis belajar bahasa Inggris, seperti meningkatkan prospek karir dan kinerja akademik, sedangkan motivasi integratif berkaitan dengan keinginan untuk terhubung dengan budaya dan komunitas berbahasa Inggris. Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa motivasi instrumental (misalnya meningkatkan prospek pekerjaan adalah pendorong utama untuk studi bahasa Inggris mereka) serta motivasi integratif (misalnya keinginan untuk berkomunikasi dengan penutur asli dan terlibat dalam pertukaran budaya). Studi ini menyoroti perlunya strategi pendidikan yang mengatasi kedua jenis motivasi, mendorong pendekatan yang lebih seimbang untuk pembelajaran bahasa yang menumbuhkan keterampilan praktis dan apresiasi budaya.
