Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a model of interactive multimedia learning in the learning ecosystem. Interactive multimedia development is expected to be used as a model for students learning biology Junior High School (SMP). The research was conducted in junior Labschool Jakarta. The method used is the method of development (Research and Development) by Borg and Gall. Development is done through the stages of design, production, evaluation, and revision of the product. The design process begins with the collection of material and other supporting components. The production process is a process all colected together in a product and then become the initial product. The evaluation process consists of product: material expert, media expert, small group testing, major field trials, field trials and operational. The trials results are used to revise the product. 63.3 Acquisition of initial test scores and final test score was 84.5. The results of these tests indicate that there is a significant difference between early test scores and student’s final test. The whole everages showed good jugment. It can be concluded that learning by using interactive multimedia learning model developed is effective in enchancing the activity and compentence of students.

Abstract

Grade VIII students at Medan's private SLTP Parulian, have difficulty in understanding biology subjects. The method used in biology subjects still uses lecture methods and the low ability of students' thinking is due to the fact that learning biology has tended to only hone the aspects of remembering and understanding. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of Scientific Approach-based learning on students' critical thinking skills. The variables in this study consisted of Scientific Approach-based learning as an independent variable, students' critical thinking skills as the dependent variable. Data collection method is to use the written test method in the form of a description of questions for critical thinking skills in accordance with indicators of students' critical thinking skills. The validity of this instrument uses the validity and reliability testing of items by testing the level of difficulty and distinguishing features of the questions. Data analysis techniques to test hypotheses using t-test analysis at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that the Scientific Approach-based learning had an effect on the critical thinking skills of students in the VIIISLTP Parulian Medan Private class, as evidenced by the results of using the statistical test, the t test. This proves that the use of Scientific Approach-based learning can be used in learning because it can have a positive and significant influence on students' thinking abilities

Abstract

Learning experiences can be gained by students through a series of activities by exploring the environment through activeinteractive with friends, the environment, and other resources. One of supporting means of learning that can be used toexplore the surrounding environment is with student worksheets (LKS). Increasing student activity is difficult by itselftherefore the role of teachers is indispensable to create a learning situation that is full of student activity of one of them usingLKS. The frequency of use of LKS is high enough in each learning should be balanced with high quality LKS as well.Generally junior high school students in Kota Binjai. The research uses the observation method by collecting data to obtaindescriptive price of Prosentase (DP) on the conformity of LKS content with KTSP and the level of obtaining an index ofactivation (IP) on the instructions of activities, drawings, or diagrams and exercise problems. Data analysis shows LKS 65%,medium category, student Activation index in the activity Directive of 0.03 which is relatively low, because it is in the range of0.40 – 1.50. IP on the image or diagram 1.37 which is classified as being in the range of 0.40 – 1.50. The activation indexof the 1.23 exercise questions is being in the range of 0.40 – 1.50. The cognitive realm is disproportionate, as C1 is moredominant at 40.8%. About the psychomotor domain P2 0.43% and P3 1.3%, no other level was found. The affective realm isnot found because it is difficult to apply affective content to the form of problems. The results of this research are expected tobe concrete information. For students and teachers to pay more attention to the LKS used. Similarly, for the author to paymore attention to aspects that support the quality of LKS such as the conformity of content LKS with the curriculum, the levelof activation of students and levels of exercise problems both cognitive, affective and psychomotor.
