Participants totaled 203 active UKSW students obtained using purposive sampling techniques. The measuring instruments used in this study were the Indonesian version of smartphone addiction scale-short version (SAS-SV) with a total of 21 items with reliability r = 0.818 and an academic procrastination scale totaling 25 items with reliability r = 0.870. The results of the hypothesis test have a significant positive relationship between smartphone addiction and the academic procrastination of students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the hypothesis test with the Spearman Rank correlation technique have a significant positive relationship between smartphone addiction and student academic procrastination during the COVID-19 pandemic. Smartphone addiction contributes 10.6% effectively to academic procrastination behavior while 89.4% is influenced by other factors such as physical or health conditions and psychological conditions, parental parenting and the environment such as the family environment, society, and schools. Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between emotional maturity and forgiveness among late-adolescent females who experienced breakups due to infidelity. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving 114 female university students aged 18–21 who had experienced infidelity in romantic relationships. The instruments used were the Emotional Maturity Scale (EMS) and the Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivations (TRIM-18). The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between emotional maturity and forgiveness. These results indicate that individuals with higher emotional maturity tend to have a greater capacity to forgive. The study highlights the importance of developing emotional maturity to support emotional healing in young women after breakups caused by infidelity.

Abstract

Generalized anxiety disorder is one of the most common anxiety disorders in society. The purpose of this study is to develop a diagnostic scale for generalized anxiety disorder because there is no self-report diagnostic tool for generalized anxiety disorder based on DSM-V and ICD-10 criteria in Indonesia. The research uses quantitative research. Respondents in the field test consisted of 210 adult respondents aged 18-65 years, moderate or had experienced anxiety, and were Indonesian citizens. This study provides the results that the overall anxiety disorder diagnostic scale has gone through the internal validity and internal reliability test stages and obtained valid and reliable results so that this measuring instrument has described the suitability of the measuring instrument construct with the data. Based on testing the average processing time of 6 respondents, it was obtained an average of approximately 5 minutes (2 minutes 4 seconds to 5 minutes 21 seconds). Scoring for each item that supports or is in accordance with the symptoms (favorable), namely Yes = 1 and No = 0. The scoring for each item that does not support the symptoms is Yes = 0 and No = 1. This measuring instrument is declared to have good validity and reliability.

Abstract

Self-esteem is a crucial factor in an individual's life that influences various psychological and social aspects, including schadenfreude, which refers to the pleasure one feels at another person's misfortune. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-esteem and schadenfreude behavior among university students in Java, Indonesia. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study involved 253 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Self-esteem was measured using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), while schadenfreude behavior was assessed using the Schadenfreude Scale developed by Crysel and Webster (2018). Statistical analysis revealed a significant negative correlation between self-esteem and schadenfreude, with a correlation value of r = -0.699; p < 0.05. The majority of respondents exhibited moderate levels of self-esteem (48.86%) and schadenfreude behavior (51.14%). These findings imply that the higher an individual's self-esteem, the lower their tendency to experience schadenfreude, and vice versa.
