Abstract

Kata kunci— ESP32, Internet of Things (IoT), output generator, pemantauan, PLTPH, PZEM-004T

Abstract

Abstract

Generator scheduling remains an intriguing issue within the energy industry. It relates to the optimization of production costs, where system operators must select the optimal combination of available resources to minimize production costs. This paper proposes an enhancement to the Equal Incremental Cost (EIC) Method using Adjustable Gamma Control (AGC) in generator scheduling. Iterations begin with an initial lambda value, then gradually increase with the application of the factor until power demand is met. A variable of 10% is used as an adjustment step in the optimization method. The proposed method is capable of achieving convergence with 100% accuracy, where the power generated by all generators precisely matches the load demand (2,650 MW), at a cost of USD 32,289.03. EIC-AGC ranks second-best after VLIM, albeit with the consequence of consuming 195 seconds. This method is expected to have a significant impact on designing highly accurate economic dispatch techniques. Thus, generator scheduling will lead to a reduction in operational costs compared to current practices.

Abstract

The enhancement of electricity distribution is a crucial factor in supporting sustainable development and reducing energy access inequality. To ensure the reliability and stability of energy systems, the integration of distributed generation (DG) has a significant role. Numerous studies have explored optimal DG placement using metaheuristic methods. The study evaluated the performance of both algorithms based on key indicators, including voltage profile improvement and power loss reduction, under normal load conditions and under a 10% load increase to simulate future demand growth. The methods employed were the sine-cosine algorithm (SCA) and the bat algorithm (BA). By comparing these two methods, this study aims to optimize the placement and sizing of DG units, with a case study based on the IEEE 9 bus system configuration. Load flow analysis was performed using Electric Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) software to validate the effectiveness of optimized DG placement under various scenarios. Key performance indicators, namely losses reduction and improvement of voltage profile, were evaluated to determine the relative strengths of each algorithm. The results show that both SCA and BA are effective in optimizing DG implementation. Specifically, SCA achieved reductions in active power losses by up to 85% and reactive power losses by 93%, outperforming BA in certain scenarios. Both algorithms enhance system reliability and stability. These findings highlight the potential of metaheuristic algorithms to address the challenges of modern energy systems and contribute to the broader goal of developing sustainable power systems.

Abstract

The rapid development of modern power electronics systems at the 20 kV medium-voltage level demands high reliability of printed circuit board (PCB) insulation. Under medium-voltage conditions, PCB insulation materials are susceptible to partial discharge (PD) activity, particularly in areas with non-uniform electric field distribution, which can accelerate insulation failure and reduce system reliability. This study examines the insulation performance of medium-voltage PCBs through PD measurements using non-invasive current transformer (CT) sensors that do not damage the equipment. The proposed approach utilizes time-domain PD analysis to detect impulse current signals generated by PD activity without modifying the PCB insulation structure. Key parameters such as pulse magnitude, rise time, pulse width duration, and PD fall time are analyzed to characterize PD activity. Additionally, PD waveform analysis is performed to evaluate discharge characteristics and their correlation with PCB insulation conditions. The novelty of this research lies in the application of CT sensors as a method for evaluating PCB insulation in medium-voltage power electronics applications. The research results show that the proposed method is capable of detecting low-level PD activity and provides relevant diagnostic information for PCB design development and insulation condition monitoring strategies in medium-voltage power electronics systems Abstrak Perkembangan pesat sistem power electronics modern pada skala tegangan menengah 20 kV menuntut keandalan isolasi printed circuit board (PCB) yang tinggi.

Abstract

Abstract − Conventional Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) methods in photovoltaic (PV) systems frequently suffer from significant efficiency degradation when subjected to dynamic weather and Partial Shading Conditions (PSC). To address this issue, this study proposes a novel hybrid control algorithm integrating Bayesian Optimization (BO) and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). The primary contribution of this research is the development of an adaptive MPPT system architecture that leverages the global exploration capabilities of BO alongside the high-precision local tuning of DRL to maximize solar energy extraction. The methodology evaluates the proposed BO-DRL agent through an ablation study within a Python simulation environment across four distinctive environmental profiles: uniform irradiance, light partial shading, heavy partial shading, and extreme dynamic conditions. In this framework, the BO component executes a probabilistic global search via Gaussian Processes to prevent the system from getting trapped in local maxima, while the DRL agent performs continuous duty cycle adjustments to minimize steady-state oscillations. Simulation results demonstrate that the hybrid approach significantly outperforms the conventional Perturb and Observe (P&O) method. Under heavy partial shading, the hybrid algorithm achieves a tracking efficiency of 96.08%, whereas the P&O method drops to 62.24% due to local peak entrapment. Under extreme dynamic scenarios, the hybrid efficiency remains robust at 93.22%, while the P&O performance drastically degrades to 39.07%. Furthermore, the ablation validation proves that standalone DRL agents fail to initialize optimally without the global search assistance from the BO unit. In conclusion, the synergistic integration of BO-DRL yields a highly robust, efficient, and adaptive MPPT control solution capable of optimizing PV energy harvesting in highly volatile environments.
