Abstract

Weather station is a system needed to monitor weather conditions in an area. The sensors installed are usually located far from the monitoring center and the recording is done in real time time. For that we need a communication system that functions to send data from the sensor points to the monitor system. Communication built on weather station, uses Lora data communication, and the data sent consists of data from various sensors. The sensors used in the weather station are; temperature, humidity, light intensity, air pressure, rainfall, wind direction, and wind speed. All sensor data will be sent from the node to the gateway to be forwarded to the server Internet of Things. Communication utilizes LoRa which is installed in 2 nodes and 1 gateway in topology star and half-duplex. In this system, distance testing is carried out on LoS and NLoS against RSSI, SNR, delay, throughput, and packets. loss. The data was successfully obtained at LoS as far as 1 km and NLoS 500 m. Abstract

Industry uses autonomous mobile robots in assisting human work. However, the robot is not aware of its position within an indoor environment. Localization systems that use GPS are less effective when applied indoor. an alternative is Visible Light Communication (VLC) technology utilizing LED lights in the room. It should be noted that a localization system is quite important for knowing the position and location of the mobile robot while in operating. In this project, a localization system based on VLC zones is designed. The data used is transmitted from the LED lighting lamp to the photodiode as an identity (ID) of the lamp. The photodiode captures the light of the LED lamp containing the ID. The decoded output from the photodiode, as the receiver, is the location information displayed by nine LED indicators. The results of the experiments show that the transmitter can send information signals according to the programmed ID, i.e., zone a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, and i. The receiver side can obtain the ID of LED with an accuracy of 80% and thus show the localized zone of the receiver. The best distance achieved between the transmitter and receiver in VLC communication is 20 to 100 cm using a 20W LED. The maximum zone range of each lamp is in the area of 32 × 32 cm2 and the receiver can identify the nine zones accordingly based on the signal sent by the transmitter.

Abstract

Weather observation is one of the important factors in agriculture. Data from weather observations can be used for various things, including to predict future risks due to these weather conditions. An Automatic Weather Station (AWS) is needed to read weather conditions continuously. Some of the devices that will be built for the AWS system are data communication, sensors, and power supply. AWS is usually installed in certain areas where there is no power source. Hence, it takes a power supply system that can stand alone and has a security system that can monitor the components connected to the system in real-time. This research successfully designed a power supply system for a weather station that is equipped with current and voltage measurement features for its load as well as a warning system feature in case of interference on GSM SIM900-based Weather Station. Based on the results of the study the system using solar cell modules has an efficiency of 14,1% and is supported with the help of batteries that can be recharged through solar energy. Using the INA219 sensor to measure the voltage and load current connected to devices that have an error percentage value of less than 1%, the data is then uploaded to Thingspeak. Testing of warning systems at the Weather Station is conducted using Magnetic reed sensors capable of detecting changes when the separation distance between the sensor and other magnets is more than 3cm.

Abstract

Manufactured goods distribution system is a very important part in the production chain. Delivery of goods from one point to another point affects the effectiveness of the production process. At the moment, most companies whose business are in manufacturing require automation, including distribution of goods. One application of automation in the distribution of goods is AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle). Companies need AGV that can move in complex pathways. The movement includes a selection of AGV path traversed and AGV terminal position. This research discusses the design and implementation of an AGV navigation and position information settings. AGV navigation uses fuzzy logic in its algorithm, while position setting of the AGV uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to recognize the position of the robot at each terminal. From the testing result, the system obtained a success rate of 96% in movement of the robot from one terminal to another terminal using the RFID. RFID can be read at both speed of the robot i.e. 6.9 and 7.13 m/min

Abstract

Autonomous mobile robots are widely used in industry to help human’s work, but the concept has a weakness, that is robot still does not know its position in a room so it can not detect whether the robot has been at destination point. The technology commonly used to determine the position of objects is the Global Positioning System (GPS). However, GPS does not detect objects that are indoors. Previous research used Wi-Fi as a reference for designing an indoor positioning system, but the system could not determine the position in detail because Wi-Fi could only detect object zones. Based on these problems, this research will propose the infrastructure prototype design of an indoor positioning system based on Visible Light Communication (VLC). The main focus of this research is designing a VLC transmitter and receiver system, estimating the distance between the receiver and transmitter based on the received signal strength, and estimating the receiver's position using the triangulation method based on a minimum of 3 distance estimates. The estimating distance system get average accuracy is 76.47%. The estimated accuracy of the x-coordinate position has the best accuracy is 77.05% and the y-coordinate estimate has the best accuracy is 86.54%.

Abstract

Fish farming is common in Indonesia. The farmers usually use ponds with a large size for cultivation which have constraints on feeding due to their size. An automatic feed system with An Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) can be the solution to overcome this problem. The USV moves to the predetermined position and direction using GPS and compass. When it has arrived at that point this USV feeds the fishes according to the predetermined amount. In this study, the Pixhawk is used to control the USV to accomplish the given mission. It uses mission planner software for determination of the waypoint points, the calibration of components, and the control of PID. The Pixhawk also serves as a ground control station (GCS) for monitoring the motion and position of the USV using radio communication of 433MHz telemetry connected to the GCS and computer. The fish feeding system uses a load cell sensor to measure the weight of the feed to be thrown and two servo motors as a feed production system. Both sensor and servo motors are controlled by an Arduino UNO. The feed tank has a maximum capacity of 7.5 liters with 0.41 cm per kilogram buoyant force of the USV. The test was carried out on a pool of 10 × 10 m by placing 4 Waypoints. The USV has an average speed of 0.65 m/s and reaches a total distance of 55.5 m in 88 seconds. Before releasing to the pond, the feed weight is measured using a load cell sensor which has an accuracy of 98.99%. The difference between the set point and the feed released by the USV is very close, where the average error value is about 4.98%. The error value becomes smaller when more weight is set.
