Abstract

Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) has been launched since 2020. Since then, it has become a resource for teachers to support their teaching and learning activities. The platform offered many opportunities for the teachers to build and develop their capacity for a better quality of teaching, from planning to classroom practices. It was essential to know their view of using the platform. This study aimed to investigate the teachers' optimism in using the platform. Besides, it explored what factors influenced their optimism in using  PMM. The study used a quantitative approach to see the teachers' general tendency regarding their optimism. It involved 303 primary school teachers as the participants. It used a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire for the data collection. The analysis data covered the reliability and validity of the items, descriptive analysis, and correlation between the items constructing the optimism. The study's findings showed that the teachers in this study had a high optimism of 4.17. The study also described that planning the lesson, flexibility, capacity building, and teachers’ productivity did affect their optimism in using Platform Merdeka Mengajar. Further research recommendations were described in the conclusion section.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi menuntut adanya adaptasi dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk pada jenjang pendidikan anak usia dini. Pengenalan teknologi sejak dini menjadi langkah strategis dalam membentuk kesiapan anak menghadapi era digital. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan teknologi, khususnya komputer, kepada siswa Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) melalui game edukasi berbasis online. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara luring di TK Kristen 1 Satya Wacana, Salatiga, dengan melibatkan siswa berusia 5–6 tahun. Metode pelatihan dilakukan dalam beberapa sesi, mencakup pengenalan bagian-bagian komputer, penggunaan mouse, serta pelatihan melalui game edukasi seperti pengenalan huruf, angka, bentuk geometri, dan jenis-jenis kendaraan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama pelatihan, serta mulai mengenal komputer sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif selain perangkat yang biasa digunakan di rumah seperti handphone dan tablet. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan belajar sambil bermain dengan teknologi dapat meningkatkan minat belajar dan keterampilan dasar siswa dalam menggunakan komputer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perhatian siswa terhadap penggunaan media audio visual pada mata pelajaran informatika di SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga karena kurangnya perhatian siswa dalam pembelajaran informatika yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan media pembelajaran yang kurang menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan melibatkan 61 responden. Metode penelitian ini merupakan metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain pre eksperimen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner yang terdiri dari 17 pertanyaan yang dikelompokkan menjadi lima indikator yaitu indikator mengamati, mendengarkan, menyangka, menilai, dan memperhatikan. Dari hasil analisis data kuesioner di peroleh skor rata-rata sebesar 51,25 dan skor total 3126. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa perhatian siswa terhadap penggunaan media audio visual pada mata pelajaran informatika di SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga termasuk kedalam kategori “Baik”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual dalam pembelajaran informatika dapat menarik perhatian siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to identify teachers’ engagement patterns in an online professional teacher education program (Program Profesi Guru) and differentiate compliance-based engagement from commitment-based engagement. An exploratory quantitative approach was employed, complemented by individual-level analysis using K-Means clustering. A total of 200 in-service teachers participated in this study. The instruments were adapted from Reeve and Tseng’s multidimensional engagement framework, which includes agentic, behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement. The findings reveal three distinct clusters of engagement: (1) High Engagement, (2) Moderate–Passive Engagement, and (3) Low Engagement. Among these clusters, agentic engagement serves as the key distinguishing factor separating genuine commitment-based engagement from formalistic compliance-based participation. These results underscore the need for adaptive techno-pedagogical designs that provide profile-specific opportunities for initiative, choice-making, and learner-directed participation. Overall, this study offers empirical insights for developing online teacher training that is more reflective and oriented toward strengthening professional agency.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence (generative AI) has created new opportunities for innovation in assessment practices within vocational education. Nevertheless, a large proportion of vocational high school (SMK) teachers continue to experience difficulties in understanding, contextualizing, and ethically integrating this technology into the design of assessments that are aligned with the demands of 21st-century skills. As a result, the evaluations implemented in classrooms tend to remain conventional and insufficiently representative of authentic workplace conditions in industry. This community engagement program was designed to enhance the competencies of SMK teachers in developing AI-based assessments that are adaptive, contextual, and responsible. The training was conducted using a hybrid approach, encompassing conceptual seminars, interactive discussions, and hands-on practical sessions utilizing MagicSchool as an AI platform for assessment design. A total of 100 teachers participated in the program, consisting of 30 onsite participants and 70 online participants. Evaluation results indicate an increase in the average score from 84.0 to 94.0, demonstrating a significant improvement in teachers’ assessment design competencies. Overall, the program proved effective in strengthening teachers’ technological literacy and pedagogical capacity, while also promoting the ethical and contextually relevant application of AI in industry-oriented vocational learning.

Abstract

Sexual violence in the campus environment is a serious problem that has a far-reaching impact on the mental, physical, and even academic of the victim. This community service aims to provide socialization about sexual violence prevention strategies in the campus environment. The results of the service show that an effective sexual violence prevention strategy includes several main steps, namely; policy implementation, public awareness and education campaigns, conducting training programs, cooperation with external parties and support services for victims. This comprehensive approach is expected to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive campus environment in the campus environment. The implementation of these strategies can also be a reference for other educational institutions in joint efforts to prevent sexual violence in the educational environment.

Abstract

Critical and innovative thinking skills are essential requirements for students to meet the global challenges. One strategy to develop these skills is through participation in the Indonesian Student Research Olympiad (OPSI), which requires collaboration between teachers and students in implementing fundamental research concepts. However, the implementation of basic research concepts within the high school curriculum remains limited. Consequently, collaboration with higher education institutions serves as a potential solution, specifically through research training and mentoring. This training initiative aimed to enhance the research competence of teachers and students at SMAN 1 Ambarawa by providing methodology training and mentoring for OPSI research teams, conducted by a faculty team from Satya Wacana Christian University. The program was conducted intensively consisting of research design training and research mentoring for nine student groups. The training and the mentoring were provided by lecturers whose expertise aligned with the specific OPSI proposal topics of each group. This mentoring resulted in an overall improvement in the research capabilities of both teachers and students, with one group successfully won a gold medal at OPSI 2025. In conclusion, this program results in a positive reception, which expressed the hope that similar initiatives can be conducted on a regular basis.

Abstract

Transformasi digital di pendidikan tinggi memerlukan verifikasi sertifikat akademik yang aman dan efisien untuk mengatasi keterbatasan sistem konvensional, seperti risiko pemalsuan dan lambat pemrosesan. Teknologi blockchain menawarkan solusi pencatatan data terdistribusi yang transparan, namun penerapannya di negara berkembang masih terkendala infrastruktur dan regulasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan panduan PRISMA. Pencarian literatur dilakukan pada basis data Scopus, IEEE Xplore, Google Scholar, ACM Digital Library, dan SpringerLink untuk mengeksplorasi publikasi periode 2017-2024. Dari semua artikel yang diidentifikasi, 35 studi dipilih melalui proses penyaringan dan penilaian kualitas yang dilakukan secara naratif kemudian disintesis menggunakan pendekatan tematik. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sintesis komprehensif mengenai evolusi penerapan blockchain dalam verifikasi sertifikat akademik serta mengidentifikasi model blockchain yang mengintegrasikan Hyperledger Fabric, Verifiable Credentials dan InterPlanetary File System sebagai pendekatan arsitektur hybrid. Model yang diusulkan ini bukan dipandang sebagai pengganti sistem nasional yang sudah ada melainkan sebagai lapisan kepercayaan tambahan yang melengkapinya. Pendekatan ini dinilai mampu menyeimbangkan keamanan data, skalabilitas, serta efisiensi sumber daya di negara berkembang, sekaligus mengidentifikasi kesenjangan penelitian untuk validasi empiris lebih lanjut. Keterbatasan penelitian ini terletak pada sifatnya yang tinjauan literatur sehinggah temuannya masih bersifat konseptual.

Abstract

In this digital era, teachers, as the main actors in delivering instruction at the school level, need to keep up with the new technology that could develop their competence. The Indonesian government has launched an application called Platform Merdeka Mengajar as an episode of Merdeka Belajar. Introducing and encouraging the teachers to utilize the application is done through national and regional education authorities. Therefore, it is vital to understand better what influences teachers to use the application. This study aims to examine the factors that motivate and inhibit primary school teachers from using Platform Merdeka Mengajar application investigated through the Technology Readiness Index 2.0 (TRI 2.0) constructs. It is a preliminary study exploring the use of the platform provided by the government to support teachers' professional development. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design. The instrument consists of 16 items adapted from TRI 2.0. This study involves 303 primary school teachers in Boyolali. Once the data is collected, the data analysis begins by looking at the teachers' demographic information and the descriptive statistics of each factor being investigated. The result of the study suggests that two constructs in TRI 2.0 indeed motivate the teachers to utilize the government-provided application. Surprisingly, the inhibiting factors do not significantly hinder teachers from using the application. Limitations of the study and suggestions for further research are also described in the conclusion section.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the learning motivation of class II students at SDN 2 Gombang is during the pandemic. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews with class II teachers at SDN 2 Gombang. The results of the research show that students' learning motivation during online learning during the pandemic is low and has decreased compared to learning before the pandemic. One of the things that influences this is the lack of direct interaction between teachers and students.
