Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) challenges vocational education to ensure students are ready for technology-based learning. Yet, the level of readiness among vocational high school students remains underexplored. This research analyzes the readiness of students at SMK Negeri 2 Salatiga to engage in AI-based learning using the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) 2.0 framework. A total of 63 eleventh-grade Computer and Network Engineering students completed a structured questionnaire. Data were examined through descriptive statistics with validity and reliability tests to confirm instrument accuracy. Findings reveal an overall TRI score of 2.44, indicating a moderate level of readiness. Among the four TRI dimensions, optimism recorded the highest mean (2.93), reflecting students’ positive outlook toward AI benefits, while insecurity showed the lowest mean (2.13), highlighting concerns over security and dependability. These results underscore the importance of educational strategies that enhance not only technical competence but also students’ confidence and sense of safety when using AI. The study enriches the discourse on AI readiness in vocational education and provides a foundation for curriculum improvements and AI-oriented training programs that better equip students for the digital era.

Abstract

Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) has been launched since 2020. Since then, it has become a resource for teachers to support their teaching and learning activities. The platform offered many opportunities for the teachers to build and develop their capacity for a better quality of teaching, from planning to classroom practices. It was essential to know their view of using the platform. This study aimed to investigate the teachers' optimism in using the platform. Besides, it explored what factors influenced their optimism in using  PMM. The study used a quantitative approach to see the teachers' general tendency regarding their optimism. It involved 303 primary school teachers as the participants. It used a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire for the data collection. The analysis data covered the reliability and validity of the items, descriptive analysis, and correlation between the items constructing the optimism. The study's findings showed that the teachers in this study had a high optimism of 4.17. The study also described that planning the lesson, flexibility, capacity building, and teachers’ productivity did affect their optimism in using Platform Merdeka Mengajar. Further research recommendations were described in the conclusion section.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi menuntut adanya adaptasi dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk pada jenjang pendidikan anak usia dini. Pengenalan teknologi sejak dini menjadi langkah strategis dalam membentuk kesiapan anak menghadapi era digital. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan teknologi, khususnya komputer, kepada siswa Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) melalui game edukasi berbasis online. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara luring di TK Kristen 1 Satya Wacana, Salatiga, dengan melibatkan siswa berusia 5–6 tahun. Metode pelatihan dilakukan dalam beberapa sesi, mencakup pengenalan bagian-bagian komputer, penggunaan mouse, serta pelatihan melalui game edukasi seperti pengenalan huruf, angka, bentuk geometri, dan jenis-jenis kendaraan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama pelatihan, serta mulai mengenal komputer sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif selain perangkat yang biasa digunakan di rumah seperti handphone dan tablet. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan belajar sambil bermain dengan teknologi dapat meningkatkan minat belajar dan keterampilan dasar siswa dalam menggunakan komputer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perhatian siswa terhadap penggunaan media audio visual pada mata pelajaran informatika di SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga karena kurangnya perhatian siswa dalam pembelajaran informatika yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan media pembelajaran yang kurang menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan melibatkan 61 responden. Metode penelitian ini merupakan metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain pre eksperimen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner yang terdiri dari 17 pertanyaan yang dikelompokkan menjadi lima indikator yaitu indikator mengamati, mendengarkan, menyangka, menilai, dan memperhatikan. Dari hasil analisis data kuesioner di peroleh skor rata-rata sebesar 51,25 dan skor total 3126. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa perhatian siswa terhadap penggunaan media audio visual pada mata pelajaran informatika di SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga termasuk kedalam kategori “Baik”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media audio visual dalam pembelajaran informatika dapat menarik perhatian siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to identify teachers’ engagement patterns in an online professional teacher education program (Program Profesi Guru) and differentiate compliance-based engagement from commitment-based engagement. An exploratory quantitative approach was employed, complemented by individual-level analysis using K-Means clustering. A total of 200 in-service teachers participated in this study. The instruments were adapted from Reeve and Tseng’s multidimensional engagement framework, which includes agentic, behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement. The findings reveal three distinct clusters of engagement: (1) High Engagement, (2) Moderate–Passive Engagement, and (3) Low Engagement. Among these clusters, agentic engagement serves as the key distinguishing factor separating genuine commitment-based engagement from formalistic compliance-based participation. These results underscore the need for adaptive techno-pedagogical designs that provide profile-specific opportunities for initiative, choice-making, and learner-directed participation. Overall, this study offers empirical insights for developing online teacher training that is more reflective and oriented toward strengthening professional agency.
