Abstract

Mathematics is a learning that connects concepts and mathematical structures such as in flat building and space building materials. In delivering learning materials, a teacher will use teaching materials. Teaching materials are materials compiled by teachers to achieve learning objectives. The right teaching material for flat building and building space materials in class II is the Student Worksheet. With the Student Worksheet, students can increase their understanding of the material they are studying because the teaching material is designed with many pictures, practice questions, and colors. So that learning can run effectively . The method used in this study is the library method by making books, articles, journals, as references. From the research conducted, it was obtained that the teaching materials of the Student Worksheets on the material of building flat and building spaces using row patterns can be used in students of grade II Elementary School.

Abstract

This research aims to discover the character aspects of lecturers most preferred by Elementary education students and the impacts and implications on the character of prospective teacher students. The method used in this research is qualitative field research with phenomena studies. Primary data were obtained from students through a questionnaire using a form instrument and unstructured interviews with an open pattern. The results showed that of the 13 aspects of lecturer character that were the most favored aspects of prospective Elementary School teacher students mapped from lecturer personality and educational competencies, namely lecturers who were able to place themselves, had high self-confidence, were tolerant, and understood students' character. The impact on students is increased motivation and self-confidence, more positive relationships, increased academic achievement, and development of student soft skills. The implications of the character of a favorite lecturer for the character of prospective teacher students are the formation of an Inclusive Learning environment, increased student psychological well-being, and strengthening of a positive academic culture.

Abstract

Pemahaman membaca adalah salah satu keterampilan dasar yang sangat penting bagi siswa sekolah dasar untuk mendukung keberhasilan belajar di berbagai mata pelajaran. Namun, kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa, khususnya di kelas 3 sekolah dasar, masih menghadapi tantangan dalam memahami bacaan. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh rendahnya minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran membaca yang cenderung monoton dan minimnya keaktifan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mampu menarik perhatian siswa dan meningkatkan keterlibatan mereka dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satu pendekatan yang dianggap efektif adalah pendekatan bercerita, yang mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar yang kontekstual dan menarik bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pemahaman membaca siswa kelas 3 di SD Negeri Pasarsuuk, Cianjur, melalui pendekatan bercerita. Dalam penelitian ini, pendekatan bercerita diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengenali kosakata, memahami isi cerita, mengidentifikasi informasi penting, dan menginterpretasikan makna dalam bacaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam aspek pemahaman membaca siswa setelah diterapkannya pendekatan bercerita. Siswa menjadi lebih aktif, mampu menjawab pertanyaan secara kritis, dan menunjukkan daya ingat yang lebih baik terhadap materi bacaan. Selain itu, pendekatan ini mendorong siswa untuk lebih terlibat dalam diskusi dan berbagi pandangan mengenai isi cerita. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan bercerita adalah metode yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa sekolah dasar. Harapannya, pendekatan ini dapat diimplementasikan secara luas oleh guru di berbagai sekolah dasar untuk mengatasi tantangan dalam pembelajaran membaca dan meningkatkan literasi siswa di Indonesia

Abstract

Quality education is a global challenge, especially for Generation Alpha, which faces difficulties in social and cognitive skills due to a lack of direct interaction. To address this problem, this study proposes modeling learning methods based on Vygotsky’s theory that emphasizes structured social interaction and the use of technology as learning aids. This method involves an in-depth analysis of more than 20 relevant Scopus-indexed journals, with a qualitative approach that emphasizes document analysis techniques and thematic analysis to identify emerging themes and patterns. The novelty value of this research lies in the application of Vygotsky’s theory in the context of modern education, which has not been explored much, as well as the emphasis on collaboration and group discussion as an effective learning method. The results show that the application of Vygotsky’s principles, such as social interaction and emotional experience, can improve the social and cognitive skills of Generation Alpha, as well as support better academic achievement. As such, this research makes a significant contribution to educational literature and offers practical recommendations for educators and policymakers to create more effective and meaningful learning environments.

Abstract

The phrase "Never Leave History" (Jasmerah) from Soekarno emphasized the importance of historical awareness. This article examines the evolution of basic education and basic Islamic education in Indonesia from the Islamic kingdom to the Reform era with a qualitative approach based on a literature review. Key findings reveal a significant shift in the Islamic basic education curriculum, transforming from a traditional Islamic boarding school-based approach to a formal school model that integrates modern science and technology. In addition, a dynamic pattern of education policy was found, seeking to balance the preservation of local-religious values with the demands of modernization and national development. This study also confirms that Islamic education functions not only as a transmission of knowledge but as a process of forming character, social identity, and cultural resilience according to Islamic teachings. The implications of this research are very important for the development of education policies that are inclusive, holistic, and responsive to social and cultural change. The unique contribution of this research can be seen from the cross-era analysis that provides a comprehensive picture of the resilience and adaptability of Islamic education in the face of socio-political challenges, while strengthening the historical foundations and Islamic values in the national education system.

Abstract

Kurikulum tahun 2022 Sekolah Dasar telah diimplementasikan selama kurang lebih tiga tahun, sudah waktunya untuk melakukan evaluasi terhadap program yang termuat. Evaluasi program model formatif-sumatif (scriven model) sesuai untuk digunakan dalam kajian konseptual dan praktikal kurikulum. Bagaimanakah kurikulum 2024 SD secara konseptual? Benarkah membuat perubahan berbasis perubahan? Seberapakah jangkauan perubahan kualitatifnya? Pertanyaan kunci inilah yang dijawab sebagai hasil dan pembahasan. Pertama, kurikulum 2024 SD dengan filosofis pragmatis dan humanistik yang secara konseptual selaras dengan kodrat jaman. Kedua, pendekatan filosofis pragmatis dan humanistik memungkinkan perubahan kurikulum dilakukan sesuai kodrat alam dan kodrat jaman peserta didik. Secara faktual perubahan kurikulum 2024 SD dapat dilakukan pada rumpun kelas sebagai satuan terkecil, dinamika interaksi transaksi kelas akan selalu menjadi basis perubahan kurikulum operasional kelas. Ketiga, data hasil kajian dokumen, wawancara, dan observasi menunjukkan perubahan kualitatif pada capaian pembelajaran laten (outcomes).

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate the ERTIMO application, a learning recommendation tool designed to enhance the quality of early Indonesian literacy instruction conducted by teachers. Utilizing the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) instructional design model, ERTIMO's content was systematically curated through an extensive literature review. The application's feasibility and effectiveness were assessed through expert validations and field trials, employing observations, assessment scales, running records, and writing assignments. Statistical analysis via T-tests confirmed that ERTIMO significantly improved learning quality, particularly in teacher engagement, student participation, and the utilization of learning media, while aspects such as instructional material and learning environment remained largely unchanged. The novelty of ERTIMO lies in its integration of a recommender system to assist teachers in organizing instruction, addressing the prevalent issue of inadequate strategy adoption in early reading and writing literacy for early elementary school class.

Abstract

This teaching material is developed based on the demands of the Curriculum by considering the characteristics and needs of grade III MI/SD students, especially in the lower grades who have concrete and visual learning styles. The purpose of this development is to produce teaching materials in the form of magazines that contain materials on folding symmetry, rotational symmetry, and circumference of flat buildings that are presented in a contextual and interesting manner, so as to help students understand the material thoroughly and pleasantly. Teaching materials are designed using three-dimensional images, flat shape cutouts, interactive worksheets, and envelopes containing multiple-choice questions to support students' active engagement during the learning process. The development model used is a 4D model (Four-D Models) which consists of the stages of Define (defining student needs and characteristics), Design (initial product design), Develop (product development and expert validation), and Disseminate (limited dissemination for trials). The subject of development is grade III MI/SD students, with the object of development in the form of an interactive mathematics learning magazine. The research instruments include expert validation sheets, observation guidelines, and student response questionnaires to determine the effectiveness of the teaching materials developed. The findings of the study show that these teaching materials significantly improve students' understanding of the concepts of flat building, especially in terms of active engagement, interest in learning, and ability to solve practice problems. The novelty of this teaching material lies in the three-dimensional and interactive design of the magazine, which has not been developed much before in elementary mathematics learning, as well as the use of multiple-choice question envelopes that give students the space to determine their own learning order.

Abstract

The learning problems that occurred at Bustan El Firdaus Kawunganten Islamic Elementary School, Cilacap Regency, among others, are still centered on teachers and dominated by lecture methods. This condition causes low focus of students during learning and the emergence of boredom which has an impact on low understanding, especially in the subject of Mathematics where the material sums of fractions with different denominators are used. In response to this, the researcher designed improvements through Classroom Action Research using Kahoot interactive learning media. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of competitive and interactive real-time quiz-based digital media into mathematics learning at the elementary school level, which is still rarely applied systematically in the local context. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings lasting two hours of lessons. The data collection technique uses quantitative instruments in the form of individual tests given at the end of each cycle. The average grade point of the class in the pre-cycle was 68 with a completion rate of 44.4%. In cycle I, the score increased to 77 with 72.2% completeness, and in cycle II it increased significantly to 89 with 83.3% completeness. The specific purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of Kahoot interactive media in improving understanding of the concept of fractional summation, increasing student active participation, and creating a more enjoyable and meaningful learning atmosphere. It is hoped that the results of this research can encourage teachers to use similar interactive media to improve the quality of mathematics learning in the classroom.
