Abstract

This article is based on the results of a mini-research that aims to describe the religious tolerance of Minangkabau and Batak ethnic students at Xaverius Bukittinggi High School in the academic year 2019/2020. This research uses a quantitative approach. The steps in this research are conducting preliminary studies, literature studies, data collection, data analysts and conclusions. The population of this study, XII Bukittinggi ethnic group Minangkabau and Batak ethics XII grade students. Sampling with purposive sampling technique. Data collection using a questionnaire, data analysis techniques with normality, homogeneity, and T-test. The results of this study illustrate the religious tolerance of ethnic Minangkabau and Batak students dominated by the tolerant category. There was no significant difference in religious tolerance between ethnic Minangkabau and Batak students. However, differences in religious tolerance scores were found between ethnic Minangkabau students and Batak students on the aspect of maintaining independence in practising religion and respecting the practice of diversity. The Batak students are a minority population in Xaverius Bukittinggi high school while the majority are Minangkabau students population. Development of religious tolerance Students of the Minangkabau ethnic group and the Batak ethnic group at Xaverius High School tend to be equally tolerant and potentially more tolerant when the curriculum and education at the school are carried out properly. The results of this study can be used as consideration for developing religious-spiritual strength counselling and arranging cross-cultural counselling and guidance programs in high schools.

Abstract

Research found that self-efficacy has an important role in the development of students’ career cognitive skills. Besides, there still needs further research in self-efficacy, particularly in career readiness. The authors conduct this continuing study is to determine the effect of understanding perceived self-efficacy on student’s awareness in career readiness (mastery experience, vicarious experience, social persuasion, and emotional arousal). Data collected using a self-report of the Self-Efficacy Scale in Career Readiness (SESCR), semi-structured interview, and observation of student’s behavior between both participants with the high and low level of self-efficacy. In the current study, 100 students involved based on their convenience. Results showed that 66% of participants have a high mastery experience, 69% with high vicarious experience, 76% have a high percentage in social persuasion, and 70% have a high level of emotional arousal to understanding their career readiness. The results also showed perceived self-efficacy predicts student’s awareness of career readiness based on gender.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the condition of condition of student well-being (school well-being) at SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi which includes four aspects includes four aspects: school facilities (having), student self-fulfillment (being), social relationships (loving), and health (health). The research aims to to determine the effect and level of influence of school well-being on student achievement. student learning achievement. Using an associative type quantitative approach, this research This study involved 149 respondents who were selected by proportional random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and data analysis used simple regression. regression. The results showed the average score of students' school well-being score of 126 (high) with a percentage of 84%, and learning achievement in the competent category (100%). competent category (100%). Hypothesis testing shows school well-being has a significant effect on learning achievement with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) and Fcount (16.461) > Ftable (3.91). The effect of school well-being on learning achievement is 10.1%, so it can be concluded that school well-being plays an important role in improving learning achievement. that student well-being plays an important role in improving learning achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya fenomena yang terjadi pada siswa SMP N 3 Luhak Nan Duo meliputi masih ada beberapa siswa yang memiliki self esteem rendah dikarenakan terindikasi masih ada siswa yang suka menyendiri di dalam kelas. Terindikasi masih ada siswa yang tidak mau mencoba sesuatu yang baru karena takut gagal. Terindikasi masih ada siswa yang kurang memahami siapa dirinya. Terindikasi masih ada siswa yang suka mengejek temannya di kelas. Terindikasi masih ada siswa yang tidak mengikuti aturan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) Untuk mengetahui gambaran self esteem siswa kelas IX sebelum diberikan layanan bimbingan kelompok. (2) Untuk mengetahui gambaran self esteem siswa kelas IX setelah diberikan layanan bimbingan kelompok. (3) Untuk mengetahui apakah layanan bimbingan kelompok efektif untuk meningkatkan self esteem siswa kelas IX SMP N 3 Luhak Nan Duo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis Pre-Experimental Design dengan menggunakan model One Group Pretest-Posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 siswa, teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 12 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kuisioner self esteem yang dikembangkan oleh penulis. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) gambaran self esteem siswa kelas IX sebelum diberikan layanan bimbingan kelompok berada pada kategori sedang dengan meannya adalah 122.5. (2) gambaran self esteem siswa kelas IX sesudah diberikan layanan bimbingan kelompok berada pada kategori tinggi, dengan meannya adalah 127.8. (3) hasil uji wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig 2-tailed 0.003 yang berarti lebih kecil dari 0.05. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok efektif untuk meningkatkan self esteem di SMP N 3 Luhak Nan Duo.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena masih adanya siswa belum mengetahui bagaimana cara berkomunikasi secara terbuka atau tidak memiliki keterampilan untuk menyampaikan perasaan atau pikiran mereka dengan jelas, masih ada sebagian siswa masih mengeluarkan kata-kata kurang baik dan kasar dalam berkomunikasi dengan temannya, masih ada sebagian siswa masih yang cenderung pasif, tidak ikut berkontribusi dalam diskusi, ataupun saat jam pelajaran berlangsung, saat ditanya mereka hanya diam, tidak memberikan respon atau umpan balik saat diberikan pertanyaan, masih ada sebagain siswa masih mengejek perbedaan logat dan bahasa diantara mereka., masih ada sebagian siswa masih kurang merespon dengan baik saat diajak berbicara dengan teman yang bukan dari anggota kelompok mereka.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui gambaran komunikasi interpersonal siswa sebelum diberikan teknik bermain peran dalam bimbingan kelompok. (2) mengetahui gambaran komunikasi interpersonal siswa setelah diberikan teknik bermain peran dalam bimbingan kelompok. (3) mengetahui efektif atau tidaknya teknik bermain peran dalam bimbingan kelompok untuk meningkatkan komunikasi interpersonal siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis Pre-Experimental Design dengan menggunakan model One Group Pretest-Posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 324 siswa, teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 15 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kuisioner komunikasi interpersonal yang dikembangkan oleh penulis. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) gambaran komunikasi interpersonal siswa kelas VIII sebelum diberikan teknik bermain peran dalam bimbingan kelompok berada pada kategori sedang dengan meannya adalah 121.4. (2) gambaran komunikasi interpersonal siswa kelas VIII sesudah diberikan teknik bermain peran dalam bimbingan kelompok berada pada kategori tinggi, dengan meannya adalah 141.86. (3) hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig 2-tailed 0.001 yang berarti lebih kecil dari 0.05. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik bermain peran dalam bimbingan kelompok efektif untuk meningkatkan komunikasi interpersonal siswa kelas VIII di MTsN 3 Limapuluh Kota.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the study was to describe the characteristics of poor fishing households in Sungai Limau District, Padang Pariaman Regency in relation to the number of children born alive (ALH), education level, working hours, and utilization of health services. This study found that (1) the average number of children born alive (ALH) in poor fishing households in Sungai Limau District was 7 people. (2) The most dominant level of education reached by poor fishing households in Sungai Limau Sub-District is Elementary School, not completing and graduating. (3) Fishing activities in Sungai Limau District are carried out every day, where the working hours of the most dominant head of the family are 10-12 hours/day with the distance traveled to go to sea 4 miles. (4) The health service frequently visited by poor fishing households when a member of the household is sick is the puskesmas service. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik rumah Tangga nelayan miskin di Kecamatan Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman terkait dengan jumlah Anak Lahir Hidup (ALH), tingkat pendidikan, jam kerja dan pemanfaatan layanan kesehatan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa (1) Rata-rata Anak Lahir Hidup (ALH) pada rumah tangga nelayan miskin di Kecamatan Sungai Limau adalah 7 orang. (2) Jenjang pendidikan yang ditempuh rumah tangga nelayan miskin di Kecamatan Sungai Limau paling dominan adalah tidak tamat dan tamat SD. (3) Kegitan melaut di Kecamatan Sungai Limau dilakukan setiap hari, dimana Jam kerja kepala keluarga yang paling dominan adalah 10 – 12 jam/hari dengan jarak yang ditempuh untuk melaut adalah 4 mil. (4) Layanan kesehatan yang sering dikunjungi oleh rumah tangga nelayan miskin jika ada anggota rumah tangga yang sakit adalah layanan puskesmas.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. This studys examinnes the relationsip between peer pressuere and self-esteem in grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi. Peer pressure is defined as social pressure from peer groups that encourages individuals to think and act according to group standards in order to be accepted. Whil eself-esteem referhs to an individuals appreciation of themselves, which is formed from the accumulation of experiences, thoughts, feelings, and sensations throug hout life. Self-esteem acts as a foundation for positive development in social relation ships, learning processes, creativity, and personal responsibility. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlation method. The population involved 76 grade XI students (F1-F9) at SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi, with sampling using the Proportional technique of random sampling. A Likert-scale questionnaire was the tool utilised. To test the hypothesis, a correlation test was used to analyse the data. As evidenced by the acceptantce of the alternative ehypothesits (Ha) and the rejectsion of the null hypothesis (Ho), the study's findings demonstrated a strong relationship between the variables peer presseure (X) and self-esteem (Y). While other factors influence the remaining 20%, the correlation value of 80% indicates a robust associatiosn betweens peer presasure and self-esteem. Considering these findings, it can be said that there is a strong correlation between peer pressure and self-esteem in students.Kata kunci: Peer Preasure, Self Esteem, Students

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh Fenomena yang yang ada dilapangan menunjukkan adanya siswa yang belum bisa menerima kekurangan dirinya,adanya siswa yang belum yakin dengan kemampuannya ,adanya siswa belum mampu mengambil Keputusan serta adanya siswa yang belum mengetahui apa yang menjadi bakat maupun minatnya.Sehingga mereka sulit untuk mengoptimalkan potensi yang ada pada dirinya,mereka cenderung merasa takut ketika sudah disuruh untuk tampil kedepan ketika ada acara bakat minat.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat adakah hubungan konsep diri dengan aktualisasi diri siswa kelas VIII di MTsM Muara Panas Kab Solok. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat korelasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di MTsM Muara Panas yang berjumlah 112 orang siswa dengan jumlah sampel sebayak 88 orang siswa. Penentuan sampling dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik proportional random sampling yakni proses pemilihan sampel dengan cara berimbang pada ukuran yang tidak sama, disesuaikan dengan jumlah anggota tiap-tiap kelompok yang lebih besar.Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Angket atau Format Likert skala konsep diri dan aktualisasi diri. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi product moment dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya nilai signifikannya 0,000 < dari 0,05 maka terdapat hubungan antara konsep diri positif (X) dengan aktualisasi diri (Y). Berdasarkan tabel product moment di atas terdapat nilai pearson corelationnya adalah 0,441 dengan melihat tabel pedoman interprestasi koefisien korelasi 0,441 termasuk kepada tingkat hubungan sedang yaitu berada pada rentang interval koefisien korelasi (r) 0,40-0,599.Dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya variabel X (konsep diri) dan Variabel Y (aktualisasi diri) memiliki hubungan yang sedang dengan nilai pearson correlation 0,441.

Abstract

Religious education, especially in learning the Qur'an, has a significant role in the spiritual and moral development of the younger generation. However, many students in various educational institutions, including the Qur'anic education center, face difficulty reading, writing, and memorizing the Qur'an properly. This study aims to determine and analyze the effectiveness of the Yanbu'a method in the aspects of reading, writing, and memorizing the Qur'an in students. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, involving interviews, observations, and documentation studies for data collection. The results of the analysis show that the application of the Yanbu'a method has succeeded in significantly improving the ability of students to read, write, and memorize the Qur'an. Repetition and imitation are key in the learning process. However, there are obstacles to the mastery of the method by teachers and the writing ability of students in lower classes. The results of the study indicate the need for training for teachers in the Yanbu'a method to improve the effectiveness of teaching the Qur'an in similar educational institutions.

Abstract

This article describes the exploration of religious tolerance from the perspective of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP; Padang State University) students. The research is motivated by the development of a diverse conception of religious tolerance based on  authority of the state and the culture of local communities. Students are part of the academic community that are constantly in flux. However, the conception of rel­­­igious tolerance from a student's perspective has not been developed comprehensively, so further studies are needed to understand how students explore religious tolerance at UNP. This research method uses a qualitative approach.  The subject of this study are the active students across different study programs; they are also cross-organizations, cross-religious and cross-cultural. We have also selected  the active lecturers registered at UNP. Sampling was conducted with snowball sampling technique. Data collection uses in-depth  interviews and observation.. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis. The results of this study reveal the indicators of religious tolerance from the perspective of UNP students, namely, being open toward differences, having mutual respect, having independence in acting, and giving the freedom for people to carry out worship, and prioritizing positive interaction between individuals and interfaith groups. The results of this study can be used to construct student religious tolerance assessments.
