Abstract

Mustard greens (Brassica sp.) are one of the horticultural plants widely cultivated by the community. Mustard production can be increased through fertilization activities. Mustard plants require balanced soil nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (N, P, K) to support optimal growth. Liquid organic fertilizer (POC) has been developed to reduce dependence on the use of inorganic fertilizers. POC made from shallots contains complete macro and micronutrients that can be utilized by mustard plants for optimal growth. This research aims to study the response of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from shallots on the growth of various types of mustard greens. The research was conducted at the Jember State Polytechnic from June to August 2024, using a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications, involving POC concentrations of 0, 20, 40, and 60 ml/L on the mustard varieties Pakcoy, Samhong, Pagoda, and Caisim. The results showed that the 60 ml/L POC concentration significantly increased the number of leaves and plant height in Samhong and Pagoda mustard greens at 40 days after planting.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mendorong perubahan yang cukup besar dalam cara pelaku usaha menjalankan bisnis, khusunya pada aspek pemasaran produk. Namun saat ini salah satu usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) MJT masih mengandalkan metode pemasaran tradisional sehingga kurang efektif dalam menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan konsep digital marketing pada pelaku usaha agar dapat memanfaatkan e-commerce sebagai media pemasaran untuk menunjang kegiatan usaha yang dijalankan. Metode kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, demonstrasi dan Focus Grub Discussion (FGD) dengan media powerpoint, perangkat keras Laptop dan Smartphone, platform marketplace. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahap yaitu survei, pelaksanaan kegaitan dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pada aspek pengetahuan dan sikap peserta pada kategori tinggi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya saing UMKM MJT dan mendorong mitra untuk beradaptasi pada perkembangan teknologi digital.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity aims to empower women entrepreneurs in Nganjuk Regency through training in processing banana heart and catfish into shredded fish. This program was initiated to improve the skills and economic income of women's groups, as well as to optimize the utilization of abundant but underutilized local resources. The criteria for women entrepreneurs who participate in this program are 1) women entrepreneurs who are members of the Nganjuk Regency UMKM, 2) have an interest in catfish processing and 3) women entrepreneurs who play an active role in developing the creative economy. The methods used include analysis of needs problems, technical training in raw material processing, business management, and shredded fish product marketing strategies, monitoring and evaluation. This activity was carried out at the Village Hall of Kauman Village, Nganjuk District, Nganjuk Regency. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in technical skills, business knowledge, and income of the women's groups involved. In addition, participants were able to learn business management and marketing strategies that helped them develop their businesses professionally and sustainably.. The success of this activity confirms that appropriate training and empowerment can produce sustainable positive changes and become a model that can be applied in other areas.

Abstract

Kebun Inovasi is one of the teaching factories at Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) that produces various food and horticultural crops sustainably, including watermelon. However, observations showed a high abundance of weeds growing in the watermelon cultivation areas. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the vegetation composition and utilization potential of weeds in the watermelon cultivation areas at Kebun Inovasi Polije to support appropriate weed management planning. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique with the quadrat method. A total of ten plots (1 × 1 m) were established in areas with weed vegetation. Weed identification was carried out based on morphological characteristics and relevant literature. The results showed that 17 weed species belonging to 13 families were found, with a moderate species diversity index. Torenia crustacea was identified as the most dominant species. The identified weed species have potential uses in the fields of health, environmental management, and industry.

Abstract

Kopi merupakan komoditas unggulan di Indonesia dengan tren peningkatan luas areal perkebunan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Peningkatan ini diikuti oleh kebutuhan bibit kopi bermutu yang semakin besar. Selain itu, limbah kulit kopi dari sentra pengolahan kopi berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk kompos dan pupuk cair. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dampak pemberian kompos limbah kulit kopi dan pupuk cair kulit kopi terhadap pertumbuhan pembibitan kopi Robusta. Pelaksanaan penelitian di kebun pembibitan Laboratorium Teknologi Benih Politeknik Negeri Jember pada November 2022–Maret 2023. Penelitian menggunakan RAK factorial, terdiri dua faktor yaitu faktor pertama komposisi kompos limbah kulit kopi (M) yaitu 30% (M1), 50% (M2), dan 70% (M3); dan faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi pupuk organik cair kulit kopi (P) yaitu 100 mL/L (P1), 200  mL/L (P2), dan 300  mL/L (3) sehingga terdapat 9 kombinasi perlakuan. Parameter pengamatan meliputi tinggi tanaman, klorofil daun, jumlah daun dan volume akar. Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dan uji lanjut DMRT 5%. Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan tunggal M3 memberikan perlakuan terbaik terhadap tinggi tanaman bulan ke 2; dan perlakuan tunggal M2 dan M1 menghasilkan nilai klorofil daun tertinggi pada bulan yang sama.  Pemberian kompos limbah kulit kopi dan pupuk cair kulit kopi tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata pada variabel pengamatan lainnya.
