Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the 5S culture (Smile, Greet, Greeting, Politeness, and Courtesy) in shaping the religious character of students at SD Negeri 5, Banda Aceh City. This research is based on the importance of instilling religious character in elementary school students as a foundation for spiritual, social, and moral attitudes in daily life. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied in this study. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that the implementation of the 5S culture is carried out systematically and continuously through daily habituation activities in the school environment. The practice of smiling, greeting, and greeting is applied in interactions between teachers and students as well as between students. Meanwhile, politeness and courtesy are manifested in respectful behavior, the use of appropriate language, and compliance with school regulations. The implementation of the 5S culture has been proven to positively contribute to the formation of students' religious character, particularly in aspects of politeness, empathy, and respect for others. However, several challenges were identified, including inconsistent implementation and limited parental involvement at home. This study concludes that the 5S culture is effective in fostering religious character in students at SD Negeri 5, Banda Aceh City, through habituation and exemplary behavior demonstrated by the school community. The study recommends strengthening collaboration between schools and parents, as well as enhancing habituation programs to improve character building outcomes.

Abstract

Education have shifted into digital environments, where algorithm-driven platforms intensify extremist discourse and weaken tolerance among students. Previous studies highlight the limitations of conventional deradicalization programs, which rely on offline seminars or punitive measures and fail to address the digital and cognitive mechanisms of radicalization. To address this gap, this study investigates whether integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and cognitive science can provide an effective and ethical counter-radicalization framework for universities. Guided by the hypothesis that a multidisciplinary approach combining technological detection with cognitive restructuring yields measurable psychosocial impact, a Research and Development (R&D) design was applied across six stages, involving students, faculty mentors, and expert validators in Aceh, Indonesia. The AI–NLP module, fine-tuned with local data, achieved high accuracy (precision 0.94; recall 0.89), while CBT-based cognitive microlearning increased tolerance scores by 28% (p < 0.01) and reduced risky online interactions by 40%. Findings demonstrate that integrating disruptive technologies with cognitive-behavioral methods produces both technical and attitudinal benefits. The study contributes theoretically to technology-mediated deradicalization and practically to policy-driven curriculum design, with implications for cross-cultural scalability and longitudinal research..

Abstract

Educational quality improvement requires effective collaboration among schools, parents, and the community, especially in the era of educational transformation. This study was conducted to examine the conditions, implementation, and effectiveness of school family community collaboration in improving educational quality at Jurong Pande Public Elementary School. The research employed a mixed methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data were collected through Likert scale questionnaires distributed to parents, teachers, and community members, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that collaboration among parents, teachers, and the community is generally categorized as good to very good, particularly in aspects of communication, participation, and support. Observational findings confirm that collaborative activities are consistently implemented and integrated into school programs. Expert validation results show that the developed collaboration model is highly valid and feasible for implementation. The study concludes that structured, participatory, and sustainable collaboration among schools, parents, and communities contributes positively to improving academic performance, student character development, and the overall school environment. Future research may explore the application of this collaboration model in different educational contexts to strengthen its adaptability and sustainability.

Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) promotes school autonomy and stakeholder participation in managing educational resources to improve school quality. This study aims to analyze SBM strategies in enhancing teacher welfare and social competence at SDN 4 and SDN 10 Tapak Tuan, Aceh Selatan. A qualitative case study approach was employed to explore SBM implementation in authentic school settings. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving principals, teachers, school committee members, and supervisors. The findings indicate that SBM improves teacher welfare through participatory decision-making, transparent financial management, and strengthened collaboration with stakeholders. In addition, SBM fosters teachers’ social competence by promoting collegial teamwork, effective communication, and active engagement within the school community. Although challenges such as limited funding and workload demands persist, adaptive leadership and collaborative support contribute to sustainable implementation. In conclusion, SBM functions as a strategic framework for empowering teachers and strengthening professional capacity, thereby supporting quality improvement in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive learning media based on ethnoscience integrated with spiritual values for elementary school IPAS learning, as well as to examine its feasibility and effectiveness in improving students’ learning outcomes. However, previous studies on interactive learning media in elementary IPAS tend to focus primarily on technical features without integrating local cultural contexts and spiritual values, resulting in less meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, this study offers a novel approach by integrating ethnoscience and spiritual values into gamified interactive media. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model, which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The participants consisted of 28 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 27 Banda Aceh. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and learning achievement tests. The findings revealed that the developed media achieved a validity level of 90%, categorized as highly valid. In terms of effectiveness, students’ learning outcomes improved significantly, as indicated by the increase in the average pretest score from 65.00 to 90.18 in the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.72 (high category). Furthermore, students’ responses toward the media reached 91.9%, indicating a very positive perception. Therefore, the interactive learning media based on ethnoscience and spiritual values is considered both feasible and effective for use in elementary school IPAS learning.
