Abstract

Ownership of assets can be assessed as the success of individual achievement in his life goals. It certainly can make individuals feel satisfied with the efforts they have made. Life satisfaction is one of the dimensions used by BPS to measure happiness. Thus, this study will analyze the effect of asset ownership on happiness. The data used in this study are data from the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) wave 5 of 2014. Analysis of the model in this study uses logistic regression for analysis in Java and outside Java Island. This study found that ownership of assets (jewelry, savings, vehicles, receivables), health, gender of the head of the household, type of residential, mobile phone, television, and access to the internet have a significant effect on household happiness. At the same time, other assets (houses/other buildings, land), number of household members, type of floor, and residential area (urban, rural) have no effect in determining of happiness of the household. The finding in this study also states that the probability of household happiness will be higher outside Java Island.

Abstract

The following research aims to analyze the leading sectors and their differences in absorbing labor in Lampung Province. The research objects include 5 districts/cities in Lampung, namely Bandar Lampung, South Lampung, East Lampung, Central Lampung and North Lampung. This research is motivated by the still high rates of unemployment and poverty caused by an imbalance between the lack of employment opportunities and economic and development inequality. Therefore, it is important to identify leading sectors as priorities in economic development and employment. To find out the leading sectors, we used the LQ method, normality test to see the distribution of data, and difference tests (paired sample t-test and Wilcoxon test) using Eviews12 to examine the differences in employment absorption between the leading and non-leading sectors. The results of this research show that there are several sectors that are superior in each district/city based on the LQ analysis carried out. The results of different tests show that leading sectors can absorb significantly more labor than non-leading sectors. Efforts to develop and optimize leading sectors can be an effective strategy for reducing unemployment and improving community welfare in Lampung Province. Keywords: Labor, leading sectors, unemployment, economic improvement.

Abstract

Flood disasters pose a serious threat to communities worldwide, including in Lampung Province, Indonesia. Previous research has highlighted the roles of population density and education level in influencing community resilience to flood disasters. However, deeper investigations are needed to understand the dynamics of flood disaster management in Lampung. The aim of this study is to investigate how population density and education level affect flood disaster management in eight districts and cities in Lampung province between 2019 and 2023. Through this approach, it is expected to gain deeper insights into the factors affecting community resilience to flood disasters in Lampung. t is expected that the research's conclusions will serve as a foundation for future mitigation and adaptation plans that are more successful and will also greatly advance knowledge of the dynamics of flood disaster management in Lampung in both domestic and international contexts. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS). Utilizing secondary data the research investigates how QRIS implementation affect the money supply in Indonesia. The method employed is a multiple linier regression time series analysis using monthly data from January 2021 to December 2023. The variables analyzed include the nominal value of QRIS transactions, Inflation, Interest rates and the money supply measured through official monetary statistics. The testing tools used are Stat 14 Software, which is utilized for resgression analysis and Hypothesis testing. The test conducted in this study include Normality Test, Autocorrelation Test, Heteroscedatisity Test and Multicollinearity test. The results indicate that QRIS transactions have a positive and significant impact on M1 in the short term. In the long term, QRIS transactions also have a positive and significants effect on M1. The study concluedes that QRIS transactions in Indonesian have not yet contributed to a reduction in the money supply. Keywords: Money Supply, QRIS Technology,Inflations, Interest rate

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is one of the indicators used to measure the success of development in an area. The primary objective of this research is to examine the extent to which the implementation of the Regional Budget has contributed to the improvement of the Human Development Index in Tulang Bawang Regency, Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah (APBD), on HDI in Tulang Bawang Regency during the 2012-2023 period. The research employed secondary data obtained from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). The study utilized multiple linear regression with an Ordinary Least Squares estimation. Considering that the effects of APBD realization cannot be felt directly, this research uses a time lag. The dependent variable in this research is the HDI of Tulang Bawang Regency, while the independent variables consist of Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD), Dana Alokasi Umum (DAU), and Dana Alokasi Khusus (DAK) which represent the realization of the APBD. The study results fund that the realization of Pendapatan Asli Daerah (X1) and Dana Alokasi umum (X2) has a positive and significant influence on the Human Development Index (HDI) of Tulang Bawang Regency (Y), with a confidence level of 95%. Meanwhile, for DAK variable, its effect on HDI in Tulang Bawang Regency. Keywords: Human Development Index (HDI), Dana Alokasi Khusus, Tulang Bawang

Abstract

Globally, one in three children under five are affected by stunting, which impairs their growth. On average, 50% of malnourished children aged five years or younger reside in Asia, while more than 30% live in Africa. Indonesia, as one of the Southeast Asian Countries, exhibits a higher prevalence of stunting compared to other middle-income countries. Several studies have identified a correlation between the smoking behavior of parents and the risk of stunting in children. This is thought to be due to the allocation of cigarette expenditure, which can reduce spending on food. This study aims to examine the impediments to growth encountered by children as a consequence of cigarette consumption within households in Sumatra and beyond. The data used in this study is derived from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS), with the logistic regression method utilized for analysis. The findings of this study indicate that a significant proportion of expenditure on cigarettes, living in a poor household, and internal child factors, namely the baby's weight at birth (less than 2500 grams), can increase the risk of children experiencing stunting. Genetic factors like parents' height and environmental factors like sanitation can also reduce the risk of stunting in children. Because the height of a parent’s body posture and a clean can positively influence children’s health conditions. The study calls for interventions to reduce smoking and improve child nutrition, especially in impoverished households. It is imperative to allocate expenditures related to the procurement of cigarettes to benefit children, thereby facilitating their growth and development.

Abstract

One of the dimensions that the BPS uses to gauge happiness is life satisfaction. The elements influencing home happiness in Indonesia are examined in this study. Households with secondary data from the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) comprise the study's sample. This study's model analysis makes use of logistic regression. According to the study's findings, possessions including a home, a car, savings, and even jewelry are among the things that influence household satisfaction in Indonesia. In addition, other factors such as health, ownership of electronic goods, internet access and the area of residence outside Java will increase household happiness. Overall, this study concludes that the more assets, the healthier the family condition and the easier the access, the more satisfied and happy the household will feel.
