There are also some indirect factors .Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the risk factors for stunting in children aged 6-36 months in the Sambirejo Health Center area. study. Method: This study is an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional approach that gathers data via a questionnaire. Sampling Techniques using the Non- Probability Sampling technique, and the sample size was estimated using the Lemeshow formula. The Prevalence Ratio (PR) was calculated to evaluate the strength of the link between the factors assumed to be linked with stunting. Result and Discussion: Of the 65 samples,  Four children were stunted, while 61 were not. Infants who were not exclusively breastfed, infants with a history of LBW, infants with a history of SBL, and family planning of 2 years both were risk factors for stunting in this study. Conclusions: Some variables in this study had no impact on the incidence of stunting. In this study, the risk factors for stunting were LBW, SBL, and infants without exclusive breastfeeding, and child spacing was a neutral factor for the occurrence of stunting in children aged 6-36 months.

Abstract

Healthy environmental sanitation and good nutrition are factors that determine human resources and quality of life. With healthy environmental sanitation, the community is protected from various infectious diseases and similarly with a good understanding of nutrition will produce individuals with good quality. For this reason, it is important to achieve resources and good quality of life. This understanding is enhanced by providing health education. and good nutrition so that people are protected from various diseases. Health matters are matters of the environment, attitudes and behavior of the community. One of the causes of this nutritional deficiency is stunting, namely short stature in which a child who is stunted produces a low level of intelligence. For this reason, it is necessary to educate the public to understand the importance of good nutrition for children's growth. There is a wrong perception in the general public that stature is a hereditary factor, not a factor in malnutrition so that they do not pay attention to the nutritional status of children. Wrong choice of food for consumption, as well as nutritional balance between intake and output of substances (nutritional imbalance), namely intake that exceeds output or vice versa is the result of nutritional problems that occur in toddlers. This causes several impacts, including chronic disease, overweight and underweight, pica, dental caries, and allergies. For this reason, in this case the community service team wants to provide education about counseling to the community where the targets to be carried out are pregnant women, school children and young women. During the Covid 19 pandemic, the targets we educate are through cadres and village officials, this is to avoid infection with the covid 19 virus. By providing counseling to cadres and village officials, we hope that it will reach the people of Sigapiton village. Where in this counseling we provide pocket books to the cadres and village officials that we educate. We hope that this service can increase public knowledge about nutrition understanding and the creation of healthy environmental sanitation. We will publish the output of this service in an international journal indexed by Scopus

Abstract

Down syndrome (DS) is a chromosome 21 condition that leads to abnormalities in a number of organs, unusual facial traits, as well as intellectual and developmental problems. It takes more time, effort, and patience to raise kids with DS, which makes it a hard undertaking. Another challenging difficulty is the significant amounts of stress and sadness that DS parents experience. With the help of strategies and local values, this program seeks to educate parents of DS patients so they may create social change (positive deviation). This service is provided in two stages, socialization and education, as well as genetic counseling, to help influence social change in society, particularly in families with DS children. According to socialization research findings, the biggest health issues for kids with DS are metabolic and dietary issues. During discussion, parents' emotional states were also exposed. In order to learn more about the family history of genetic illnesses and risk factors, parents receive genetic counseling. A variety of experts are involved in this service's education, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians, who can give an overview of how to appropriately care for DS.

Abstract

Background: Despite the increasing prevalence of overnutrition, the increasing number of children with Down syndrome, followed by the higher risk of children with Down syndrome to experience overnutrition, research conducted on factors that influence the nutritional status of children with Down syndrome is still limited in Indonesia. This research was conducted to look at the comparison of factors affecting the nutritional status of children with Down syndrome in the 7-12-year-old age group in Medan.Subjects dan Method: This research is an analytical cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to mothers of children with Down syndrome at POTADS Medan. The sampling method used is purposive sampling and data that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria is selected. The number of samples were 30 children with Down syndrome. The data is then analyzed with Spearman’s correlation using SPSS with children’s nutritional status as the dependent factor and paternal education, maternal education, total parents’ earnings, children's energy intake, children’s diet quality, children’s physical activity, and maternal nutritional knowledge as the independent factors. Results: Correlations were found between the nutritional status of the children and paternal education (p= 0.019; r= -0.42), between children’s nutritional status and children's energy intake (p= 0.002; r= 0.55), and between children’s nutritional status and children’s diet quality (p= 0.015; r= -0.44) with confidence interval at 95%.Conclusion: Strong negative correlation against children’s nutritional status was found in paternal education and children's diet quality, while strong positive correlation was found in children’s energy intake. Indirect correlations against nutritional status were found in maternal education, parents’ total income, and maternal nutritional knowledge score. Keywords: down syndrome, diet quality, bmi. Abstract

Allergy is an abnormality or alteration in the immune system's response to foreign proteins. The clinical presentation of allergic reactions can vary widely, including recurrent aphthous stomatitis in the oral cavity. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the prevalence of allergy as a potential etiology of recurrent aphthous stomatitis. For the assessment, a descriptive design was used, comprising 50 patients diagnosed with minor-type recurrent aphthous stomatitis who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Diagnosis of recurrent aphthous stomatitis was established through the patient’s history and clinical examination. Subsequently, blood samples were taken to analyze the levels of IgE and eosinophils. This was followed by a computer-based analysis conducted to assess the prevalence of allergy history along with the levels of IgE and eosinophils. The results showed that 14 patients (28%) had a history of allergies, while laboratory examinations identified 29 patients (58%) with elevated IgE levels, and 13 patients (26%) had high eosinophil levels. This suggested that allergy could play a role in the predisposition of recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Consequently, allergy assessments were recommended for patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis, using either allergy history or laboratory tests.
