Abstract

The objective of this community service activity is to enhance the information technology literacy of teachers and students at MTs Nurul Huda Situbondo through machine learning-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) training, with a focus on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) implementation. The training program has been meticulously designed to introduce the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and its practical applications in various domains, with a particular emphasis on its impact on education and agriculture. The training method utilizes a hands-on approach through open-source AI applications, such as Google Teachable Machine. The participants were trained to construct rudimentary artificial intelligence (AI) models that were capable of performing face recognition, fruit quality classification, leaf disease identification, and plant species classification. The findings of this initiative have demonstrated a substantial enhancement in the information technology literacy dimension of the participants, as evidenced by an augmentation in conceptual comprehension, proficiency in utilizing AI technology, and a favorable disposition towards the integration of technology in educational pursuits. A significant outcome of this endeavor is the development of an AI model for disease classification on mango leaves. The efficacy of this training program substantiates the notion that technology-based learning methodologies can effectively cultivate 21st-century competencies, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital proficiency. Furthermore, it fosters the development of an innovative and adaptable learning environment within the madrasah context.

Abstract

Biologi merupakan ilmu luas karena mempelajari semua makhluk hidup yang ada diseluruh permukaan bumi. Pada pembelajaran Biologi SMP dan SMA terdapat materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup. Klasifikasi makhluk hidup yaitu proses pengelompokan makhluk hidup berdasarkan ciri yang dimiliki. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dibutuhkan sumber belajar. Peserta didik dapat menggunakan laboratorium alam yaitu lingkungan sekitar, sehingga peserta didik akan mendapatkan fenomena yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat atau sumber belajar yang efektif. Metode untuk mengidentifikasi sampel tumbuhan berbiji (Spermatophyta) yaitu metode plot. Hasil identifikasi digunakan sebagai sumber belajar. Upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran menggunakan lingkungan alam yaitu sumber belajar cetak ensiklopedia, karena ensiklopedia memuat infomasi yang ringkas, menarik serta terdapat berbagai representasi gambar. Produk sumber belajar ensiklopedia divalidasi oleh 3 validator ahli biologi. Hasil validasi ensiklopedia tumbuhan berbiji (Spermatophyta) diperoleh skala 88,3% dimana nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ensiklopedia layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar Biologi.

Abstract

Scientific explanation skill is one of the essential skills for students in science learning today. Scientific explanation is a reasoning skill that relates claims, evidence, and reasoning. Students can understand, articulate, and explain scientific phenomena accompanied by evidence and reasoning with scientific explanation skills. However, in reality, students are still lacking in scientific explanation skills. In an effort to improve scientific explanation skills, teaching material is needed to be developed in the form of e-modules. The use of e-modules in learning is expected to train students' thinking skills, one of which is scientific explanation skills. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of e-modules to improve the scientific explanation skills of junior high school students in science learning. The development of the e-module is carried out in three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment phase. The results showed that e-modules were included in the valid, practical, and effective categories. Abstract

The research aims to develop an Android-based Augmented-Virtual Reality learning medium on digestive system materials for junior high school on human digestive system materials. The study implemented an instructional design model based on ADDIE, with eight classroom meetings to assess student learning outcomes. Pretest and posttest scores were used to calculate the N-gain score, reflecting the students’ improvement in understanding the material. The study involved 40 students. The results showed a significant improvement in student performance, with an N-gain score of 0.62, indicating moderate learning gains. The practical application of the media was deemed feasible, and students reported high levels of engagement and satisfaction with the media. These findings suggest that the learning media effectively supported the students' comprehension and engagement in science, and the use of the ADDIE model provided a structured approach to assessing its impact on learning. Abstract

Abstrak: Pembelajaran saat ini menekankan pada HOTS. Pembelajaran yang harus dilatihkan kepada siswa salah satunya keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Namun, keterampilan berpikir kreatif jarang ditekankan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di Indonesia. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mengkaji pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis Engineering Design Process (EDP) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP. Jenis penelitiannya yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil data uji Independent Sample T-test diperoleh nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,011 yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan hasil uji t-pihak kanan diperoleh nilai bahwa thitung ˃ ttabel (2,609 ˃ 1,669) yang menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima bahwa perbandingannya terjadi nilai rata-rata yang lebih baik pada kelas eksperimen terhadap kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil data yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis Engineering Design Process (EDP) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP. Abstract: : Current learning emphasizes HOTS. One of the lessons that must be taught to students is creative thinking skills. However, creative thinking skills are rarely emphasized in learning activities in Indonesia. The aim of this research is to examine the influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model based on the Engineering Design Process (EDP) on the creative thinking skills of junior high school students. The type of research is a quasi experiment with a pretest-posttest control group research design. The results showed that the creative thinking skills of the experimental class were better than the control class. Based on the results of the Independent Sample T-test test data, a significance value (2-tailed) was obtained of 0.011, which indicates a significance value of <0.05 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the results of the right-sided t-test, the value obtained was that tcount ˃ ttable (2.609 ˃ 1.669) which shows that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that the comparison was a better average value in the experimental class compared to the control class. Based on the results of the data obtained, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model based on the Engineering Design Process (EDP) has a significant effect on the creative thinking skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of e-worksheet using the liveworksheet website. This research used method R&D which referred ADDIE model which consisted n five stages, Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Data collection techniques are validation sheets, student response questionnaires, interviews, observations, tests and documentation. The results showed that the developed media had met the following criteria: very valid (aspects of graphics, content, language) based on feasibility tests by expert groups who obtained an average percentage of 91%, Practical, based on the implementation sheet provided by three observers during the learning process using Electronic Student Worksheet products which get an average percentage of 95%, Effective, based on the results of pretest and postes used to determine HOTS thinking skills and use student response questionnaires after using the product. The result of the N-gain value obtained was 0.71 with a high category and a response questionnaire obtained of 90%. So that the development of an Electronic Student Worksheet is feasible to be used in the learning process because it has met the criteria of validity, feasibility and ease of use

Abstract

The Society 5.0 era necessitates that society address problems by harnessing information technology. Augmented Reality, one of the information technologies utilized in the education sector, presents virtual objects alongside real ones in a three-dimensional format, allowing for observation, interaction, and auditory engagement. Heat and transfer materials can be simulated and applied in the form of 3D objects and animations, facilitating direct student interaction and providing a captivating and distinctive learning experience. The objective of this research is to create an Augmented Reality-based textbook on heat and transfer material to enhance the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. This Research & Development used the ADDIE model including analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate steps. Based on the results, augmented reality-based textbook is highly valid, practical, and effective in showcasing an improvement in the critical thinking skills of junior high school students, with the observed increase falling within the high category, specifically at 0.71

Abstract

Objective: The development of augmented reality based student is used to improve the critical thinking skills of junior high school science students. This research aims to describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of augmented reality based student worksheet oh Human Respiratory System course. Method: This research applies the ADDIE model was carried out at Jember’ 12 Junior High School and the data collection instruments used are observation sheets, validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and test assessment sheets. Results: The results obtained are the validity of the product is declared valid with a percentage of 92%, the practicality results are classified as practicaland the effectiveness results are very positive. N-gain results of 0.55 which is included in the moderate category. Novelty: Augmented reality-based student worksheet can be used in science learning as an alternative learning media to improve critical thinking skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan buku ajar IPA interaktif berbasis Ijen Geopark untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) siswa SMP. Pengembangan buku ajar menggunakan metode ADDIE melalui tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Buku ajar dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan potensi lokal Ijen Geopark sebagai konteks yang familiar bagi siswa. Materi, contoh, dan latihan soal dalam buku ajar dirancang secara khusus untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan memiliki validitas sangat tinggi dan kepraktisan yang sangat baik. Uji coba lapangan menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan HOTS siswa pada kategori sedang. Pengembangan buku ajar IPA berbasis potensi lokal Ijen Geopark memberikan kontribusi penting dalam menyediakan bahan ajar inovatif dan berkualitas tinggi. Kebaruan penelitian ini adalah pemanfaatan konteks Ijen Geopark yang familiar dan penekanan pada peningkatan HOTS melalui desain buku ajar. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran IPA di SMP dengan memanfaatkan potensi lokal dan menjawab tantangan pengembangan HOTS siswa.

Abstract

Penguasaan keterampilan computational thinking sangat penting dalam pembelajaran IPA di jenjang SMP untuk membentuk pola pikir kritis dan analitis. Namun, kemampuan ini masih tergolong rendah di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan serta menguji validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan E-modul IPA berbasis Engineering Design Process (EDP) pada materi suhu, kalor, dan pemuaian dalam meningkatkan computational thinking siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap: analyze, design, develop, implement, dan evaluate. Instrumen penelitian mencakup angket validasi, lembar aktivitas siswa, tes computational thinking, dan angket respons siswa. Hasil validasi menunjukkan E-modul memiliki tingkat kevalidan sangat tinggi (94%). Kepraktisan pembelajaran dinyatakan sangat praktis dengan skor 93%. Efektivitas diuji melalui pretest dan posttest yang menghasilkan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,66 (kategori sedang). Selain itu, respons siswa terhadap E-modul mencapai rata-rata 89% (kategori sangat positif). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa E-modul berbasis EDP valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan computational thinking siswa SMP.
