Abstract

Many students in class X at Al-Wasliyah 12 Perbaungan continue to struggle with the concept of solving linear inequalities with one variable that contains an mutlake value, according to data collected at the school. In order to help students avoid making the same mistakes, it is helpful to understand how they err when attempting to solve linear inequalities with one mutlake value in one variable. The teacher needs to understand whether or not the students' errors stem from a lack of understanding of the material being taught, as well as the types of questions on which the majority of errors occur. So the author's goal is to analyze common issues when teaching students to solve one-variable linear inequalities with mutlake values so that students can more easily solve such problems in the future. This study employed a qualitative, descriptive research strategy. Tests and interviews were used as data collection techniques. The reliability and accuracy of the measuring device used were first establishedit organizes.

Abstract

Matematika terdiri dari berbagai ranah, salah satunya adalah aljabar. Aljabar merupakan topik inti matematika dan di sekolah menengah pertama menjadi penting untuk materi lain. Keberhasilan siswa dalam materi aljabar akan sangat berpengaruh pada materi selanjutnya. Aljabar juga merupakan instrumen dalam memperoleh domain matematika lainnya seperti geometri analitik, kalkulus, dan statistik. Jadi aljabar adalah bahasa pengetahuan, tetapi juga jalan besar menuju matematika yang lebih tinggi. Namun sayangnya kemampuan Aljabar siswa umumnya berada pada taraf yang rendah. Penelitian ini Menggunakan studi literatur dengan membandingkan Penelitian berbagai jurnal untuk menunjukkan adanya kesulitan siswa dalam mempelajari materi Aljabar. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa kesulitan itu antara lain, kesulitan memahami soal, mengenal variabel, koefisien , konstanta atau tidak memahami bagaimana konsep al-jabar dioperaiskan.

Abstract

The ability to understand mathematical concepts is the central part that leads to mastery of other mathematical concepts. There are still many students who cannot use concepts because they think mathematics is very difficult. This is why understanding concepts is prioritized over memorizing formulas. Students succeed in understanding mathematical concepts due to various things, one of which is caused by teachers who contribute and influence learning activities regarding students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The Discovery learning model is a learning theory which is defined as a learning process that occurs when students are not presented with lessons in their final form, but are expected to organize them themselves. Based on the results of individual assessment tests during the learning process, there was an increase from diagnostic tests, namely 50% to 69.23% in cycle I, and increased to 88.46% in cycle II. This proves that indirectly the use of the Discovery learning learning model in the material on systems of linear equations in two variables (SPLDV) has increased quite significantly.
