Abstract

This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of students with social anxiety in academic contexts, as well as the coping strategies they employ to manage it. Social anxiety refers to a form of anxiety that arises from the fear of negative evaluation in social interactions. In academic settings, this often manifests in situations such as presentations, group discussions, or communication with lecturers. A qualitative approach with a narrative method was employed. Five active university students who experienced symptoms of social anxiety were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic-narrative analysis. The findings revealed that students experienced both physical symptoms (e.g., cold hands, heart palpitations, and sleep disturbances) and cognitive symptoms (e.g., overthinking and excessive fear of judgment). The coping strategies identified were categorized into two main types: problem-focused coping, such as practicing presentations and preparing scripts, and emotion-focused coping, such as praying, sharing with friends, and self-reflection. Some respondents also reported using avoidance strategies, such as skipping presentations due to feeling unprepared.

Abstract

Environmental degradation, such as illegal logging and poaching, has caused significant harm, particularly to communities dependent on forests. Women, who share an intimate connection with nature through needs like water, food, and shelter, are among the most affected groups. In this context, ecofeminism emerges to advocate for equality and challenge the domination of women and nature. A manifestation of ecofeminism is seen in the Mpu Uteun community in Damaran Baru, Bener Meriah Regency, led by women. This qualitative study employs a phenomenological approach, with five respondents selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal four key themes: Nature Dependency (human reliance on nature), Feminine Competence (women's ability to protect forests), Recognition (acknowledgment of Mpu Uteun), and Existence (the community's well-being). These insights highlight the role of women as forest guardians and significant agents of change within the ecofeminism framework. Therefore most of them prefer to invest in businesses rather than this UPS retirement scheme.

Abstract

Generation Z exhibits a higher tendency to frequently change jobs compared to previous generations, with one of the suspected contributing factors being the psychosocial work environment. This study aims to examine the relationship between the psychosocial work environment and turnover intention among Generation Z workers. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample was collected using accidental sampling in Banda Aceh. A total of 315 respondents participated in the study by completing the Turnover Intention Scale (TIS-6) and the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire III (COPSOQ III). Pearson product-moment correlation analysis revealed a strong and significant negative correlation between the psychosocial work environment and turnover intention, with a significance level of (p)=0.000 (p0.05) and a correlation coefficient of (r)=-0.733. These results indicate that the better the quality of the psychosocial work environment experienced by Generation Z workers, the lower their turnover intention. This implies that organizations should invest in supportive psychosocial work environments to enhance Generation Z employee retentiscon and reduce turnover cost.

Kata kunci: Persepsi keamanan, kriminalitas, mahasiswa perantauan, Banda Aceh Abstract: Overseas students often face unique security-related challenges in a new environment, such as adaptation to local security dynamics, the threat of street crime, and concerns about personal safety. Given the phenomenon of criminality in Banda Aceh and its impact on perceptions of security, it is important to understand how overseas students interpret their perceptions of security in the city. This study aims to explore the experiences of overseas students in dealing with criminality in their new environment and how they interpret security in Banda Aceh. This research used a qualitative approach with a narrative method. The procedure for selecting respondents used a purposive sampling technique with a total of five participants. The research data were collected through interviews (in depth interviews) and then analyzed using narrative analysis techniques by Creswell (2023). The results showed that there were variations in experiences and perceptions of security against crime in Banda Aceh. There were differences in the experience of living alone among the interviewees, but their risk assessment tended to be the same, which considered Banda Aceh safer than other areas they had visited. The results of this study are expected to provide information about student security perceptions of crime in Banda Aceh and become an evaluation material for local officials to maintain and improve the security guarantee of the city of Banda Aceh. Abstract

In addition to having a busy course in college, some students also have activities outside of college; have a job. Dense lecture activities and busy work carried out can cause work-study conflicts in students. Work-study conflict is a work activity that interferes with student learning activities to meet demands and obligations related to school or campus. One of the factors that can reduce work-study conflict is resilience. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience and work-study conflict. This study used quantitative methods with a correlation approach. The data collection procedure uses a nonprobability sampling technique of accidental sampling type with a sample of 170 people collected using google research form. The research measurement tool used the Work Study Conflict Scale (WSCS) with Alpha Croanbach (α) 0.777 and the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) with Alpha Croanbach (α) 0.930. The hypothesis test was carried out using the Spearman Correlation technique, obtaining a significance value (p) = 0.471 (p<0.05). The results showed there is no negative relationship between resilience and work-study conflict in working students. In addition, the results also showed that the majority of research subjects were in the high work-study conflict category and the high resilience category.
