Abstract

Good hygiene practices (PHBS) are activities that must be carried out by all groups, not only for children during their toddler years, the golden period of growth, but also for middle school children at their peak. And the development of high school students often face health problems including infections due to cat bites due to not practicing PHBS. Therefore, this community service was carried out at Kutalimbaru Methodist 1 Middle School to provide PHBS education to school children using the game Snakes and Ladders as a learning tool. This activity is not just a game of snakes and ladders: students learn while playing. PHBS material is presented through a quiz where participants click on certain numbers and images related to their school's PHBS logo. The launch of the training went well, and in the initial discussions about the game, the students were very enthusiastic and gave a strong response. The application of Hygiene and Sanitation Tips (PHBS) using Snakes and Ladders Media is considered effective in increasing students' awareness and understanding of clean and healthy living behavior. Abstract

Diarrhea is an environmental disease that occurs in almost all geographical areas in the world and is always present at every level of society. The emergence of diarrhea is caused by multifactors that need to be known and understood by society, starting from the smallest sphere, namely the family. School-aged children are one of the targets for being given knowledge regarding diarrhea prevention so that they can take this knowledge to their families for faster dissemination of information. However, providing information using the material method alone is not good enough to attract school-age interest in learning something, so in this community service, puzzle media is used so that students can play while learning to understand the factors that cause diarrhea and preventive measures against it. This socialization using puzzle media was applied to students in grades VII, VIII, and IX of SMP Methodist 1 Kutalimbaru. Students are divided into groups consisting of 3 participants, each group is allowed to put the pictures together on the puzzle and answer the questions on the puzzle board before attaching them. Each participant was also asked to explain the material contained in the puzzle to measure their level of knowledge regarding diarrhea and its prevention. This method is considered effective in providing knowledge to students. Students look enthusiastic about learning while playing with puzzle media so that they can easily understand and remember the material presented by the instructor.

Abstract

The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic was first known to have appeared in Wuhan City, China in December 2019 and was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 12 2020. This virus has spread very quickly to several countries in the world, including Indonesia where the Covid-19 pandemic has been designated as a type of disease that causes a Public Health Emergency on March 31 2020. With this determination, mitigation efforts must be carried out in accordance with statutory regulations in emergency response period for handling Covid-19. Tourist attractions have the potential to become a locus for the spread of COVID-19 if there is a gathering of visitors while traveling, causing the need for health protocols in carrying out activities at that location. This research uses qualitative research which aims to gather information about the compliance of people at tourist attractions with the health protocols implemented in Jambi City. The results of this research show that the implementation of the health protocol, namely 5M (wearing a mask, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds and reducing mobility) is carried out well and is carried out directly by the government and tourist attraction owners through CHSE (Clean Health Safety and Environment). And the community has good knowledge, attitudes and behavior in complying with the health protocols implemented. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of health protocols at various tourist attractions in Jambi City has gone well with supervision carried out by the government and tourist owners.

Abstract

Anemia in adolescent girls can have long-term impacts on themselves and their future children. Low knowledge of adolescents about anemia is the biggest factor causing anemia, especially school children who have unhealthy snack habits and unhealthy diets. The KECERIA program aims to educate adolescent girls. This activity was carried out at SMK Negeri 4, Jambi City, targeting adolescent girls. This activity was carried out in May-July 2024 with stages, advocacy, socialization, and nutrition education for 34 adolescent girls. Quantitative assessments were carried out pre- and post-tests before and after nutrition education. The average knowledge score before being given education was 59.41 and increased to 80.88 during the post-test. The results of the Paired Samples Test statistical analysis (Dependent T Test) found a P value = <0.0001, which means that there is a difference in the average knowledge of respondents in the pre-test and post-test results of SMK Negeri 4, Jambi City students after being given education. Providing education about anemia has an influence on the level of knowledge of female adolescents at SMK Negeri 4, Jambi City. It is recommended that schools routinely provide education about preventing anemia for female students in order to increase the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of female students in preventing anemia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Globally, 247 million positive Malaria cases were reported in 84 malaria-endemic countries. Indonesia is one of the malaria-endemic countries with 443,530 cases in 2023 [4]. Meanwhile, in Jambi Province in 2022, there were 12,682 cases, with the highest cases recorded in Merangin District (3,639 cases) and Sarolangun District (3,494 cases). This study aims to analyze and explore in-depth information about the beliefs and health-seeking behaviors related to Kuro fever among the Suku Anak Dalam tribe. This is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The study was conducted from February to October 2024 with 6 informants consisting of 2 tribal chiefs (temenggung) and 4 Suku Anak Dalam tribe members, using Thematic Analysis technique. The Suku Anak Dalam community still strongly holds traditions and beliefs in traditional treatments and herbal medicines prepared by shamans or self-prepared. Seeking treatment at health facilities is their secondary option if traditional treatments fail to cure the illness. It is crucial to enhance health education programs that are sensitive to the culture and local beliefs of the Suku Anak Dalam tribe. The government and related institutions need to facilitate improved access to health services, such as providing mobile health facilities in Suku Anak Dalam community areas. Keywords: Suku Anak Dalam, Beliefs, Kuro Fever, Health Seeking Behavior  ABSTRAK Secara Global, sebanyak 247 juta kasus positif Malaria di laporkan di 84 negara endemis malaria. Abstract

ABSTRACT Waste remains a complex problem as it impacts various aspects, including environmental and health issues. Communities that still dispose of waste improperly and let it decompose create unpleasant odors and can become transmission media for vector animals and pests such as flies that carry disease agents like microorganisms, bacteria, and parasites causing diarrhea and intestinal worms. Data from the National Waste Management Information System shows that the amount of waste generated in Jambi Province in 2022 was 352,484.44 tons/year or 965.71 tons/day. Jambi City has become the district/city with the highest amount of waste generation among other districts/cities, amounting to 159,688.01 tons/year or 437.50 tons/day. This study aims to analyze and explore in-depth information about waste management, community participation, supporting and inhibiting factors, and waste management models that can be implemented in the community. This research is qualitative with a case study approach. Conducted from May to November 2024, the informants in this study were local community members in Kenali Besar sub-district, consisting of 25 community members and RT (Neighborhood Unit) heads representing each RT in the sub-district. Residential waste management in Kenali Besar Sub-district, Alam Barajo District, Jambi City is still inadequate, with no processing and sorting systems in place, no official temporary waste disposal sites (TPS), waste containment limited to plastic bags and cardboard boxes, and waste management regulations and programs not functioning as intended. Given the importance of improving residential waste management as a preventive measure against various environmentally-induced diseases, the researchers recommend implementing waste management using a modified Four-D Model (4-D Models), which is expected to address residential waste management issues in Kenali Besar Sub-district, Alam Barajo District, Jambi City. Keywords: Waste, Four-D Model, Temporary Waste Disposal Site, Waste Management  ABSTRAK Sampah masih menjadi permasalahan yang kompleks karena berdampak pada banyak pihak diantaranya masalah lingkungan dan kesehatan.
