Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the global public health challenges that has long been known and is still a health problem in various countries in the world. Non-compliance with taking medication arises due to several factors including lack of motivation among families to carry out the role of the family in providing assistance in compliance with taking medication for family members suffering from pulmonary TB. The impact of the lack of family role on compliance with taking medication in members of patients suffering from pulmonary TB is that the death rate continues to increase and the emergence of drug resistance, as well as the occurrence of relapses so that they must undergo second-line treatment. The purpose of this literature review is to analyze publications related to the role of the family in compliance with taking medication for patients with pulmonary TB. Method: The design of this study is a literature review using the inclusion exclusion method with the PECOS format. The search method in this study uses the Google Scholar and Pubmed databases in an empirical study in the last 10 years as many as 6 journals that are in accordance with the study. Analysis results: show that family support plays a very important role in maintaining patient compliance in taking their medication. Conclusion: Based on the reviewed journals, the six journals show that there is a role for the family in compliance with taking medication in pulmonary TB patients, therefore success in treating pulmonary TB requires support from both motivation, supervision, and family education to patients with routine treatment of taking OAT. Abstract

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) and diabetes mellitus (DM) have become primary concerns worldwide, especially among the younger population. The Indonesian Boarding School model (IBS/Boarding School) is a large education system with a significant number of pupils (teenagers) and has the potential to become a center for metabolic disease, particularly among teenagers, due to their daily intake. This study aimed to provide a baseline screening for MetS and the risk of DM development in Boarding School teenagers. During this observational study, 90 healthy serological samples were obtained from senior and junior high school students. The circulating level of betatrophin was measured using a human betatrophin ELISA kit. Additionally, metabolic syndrome and DM screening data were analyzed using a rapid reverse-flow immunochromatography kit for 65 kDa glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD65). Among the 90 healthy students, a high prevalence of GAD65 was observed, indicating a potential risk factor for metabolic diseases. Furthermore, higher serum betatrophin levels were observed in the samples. The circulating level of betatrophin was found to have a significant correlation with age, gender, body mass index (BMI), systolic blood pressure (SBP), fasting blood glucose (FBG), sleeping duration, and duration of stay at Boarding School (p < 0.05). Betatrophin emerged as a potential predictor of BMI, SBP, and FBG in students (p < 0.05). Both betatrophin and GAD65 have shown promise as future biomarkers, opening up a new avenue for assessing metabolic syndrome and the risk of DM. This underscores the importance of future programs in Boarding Schools focusing on MetS and DM prevention management, making the audience feel the significance of their work in addressing these pressing health issues.

Abstract

Patients who choose to carry out examinations and treatment with an outpatient model without staying at hospitals and health service clinics are increasing for various reasons and the busyness of the patient in question. Clinics and hospitals are still able to survive and operate because they are still needed by patients who require both outpatient and inpatient services. Many clinics and hospitals in various countries still have not implemented an outpatient queue data processing system with an adequate system so there are many patients who have registered to be examined but do not come for various reasons which is a loss for the nurses and doctors on duty at the hospital. that day. This incident is certainly detrimental to clinics and hospitals because data processing is still manual, so it is impossible to predict how many patients will visit the clinic for check-ups. One solution that is still wide open for managing visiting patient data both for outpatient and inpatient treatment is to use big data. The method to be used in data mining is a Decision Tree classification with Adaboost and Random Undersampling. With the Decision Tree classification with Adaboost and Random Undersampling, good predictions will be produced so that they can help in making a decision.

Abstract

Patients have the option of undergoing examinations and treatment without having to stay in the hospital. The number of clinics serving patients continues to grow due to the high demand and busy schedules faced by patients. However, hospitals and clinics are still operating well because there are patients who need services, both outpatient and inpatient. In many countries, numerous clinics and hospitals have not implemented an effective data management system for outpatient queues. This results in a number of registered patients not showing up for their appointments, which is certainly detrimental to the nurses and doctors on duty that day. This situation is a loss for clinics and hospitals because manual data management prevents them from predicting the number of patients who will visit. One way to organize patient visit data, both for outpatient and inpatient care, is to utilize big data. The method used in processing this data is Decision Tree classification with Rusboost. By applying Decision Tree classification and Rusboost, we can obtain more accurate predictions, thereby assisting in decision-making.

Abstract

Background: Nursing students experience high stress levels because of the high demands, expectations and activities during their study. Therefore some students struggle to adapt to their college life, eventually resorting to dangerous behaviors such as self-harm, which they perceive as a coping mechanism to relieve stress. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress levels and self-harm incidents among active students at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya. Methods: This research design uses descriptive correlational with cross-sectional approach.  This study involved 293 students from Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya, with purposive sampling technique. The dependent variable in this study is self-harm behavior, while the independent variable is the level of stress. The instrument tools used are the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) questionnaire and DSHI (Deliberate Self Harm Inventory). Results: A total of 293 students were sampled in this study. The majority of stress levels were experienced by women, with 135 respondents experiencing moderate stress levels and 118 students having engaged in mild self-harm behavior. The results of the Spearman’s rank statistical test showed a significant correlation between stress levels and self-harm behavior (p-value = 0.004), indicating that higher levels of perceived stress are associated with a greater tendency toward self-harm Conclusion: This study concluded that the majority of students were under stress, with most perceiving themselves to be experiencing moderate stress. There is an urgent need to identify the underlying causes and implement effective management and preventive measures to mitigate the long-term negative effects of stress on students’ careers and well-being.
