Abstract

Industrial activities can increase waste discharge which has an impact on reducing water quality. Decreasing water quality requires methods for solving problems. The development of problem solving abilities can be improved in practical activities. In practical learning, students are expected to be able to reconstruct concepts through solving problems, so they can develop science process skills. These practical activities can be facilitated using problem-based practical worksheets. The aim of this research is to design problem-based practicum worksheets to support students' science process skills related to preliminary studies, product development design, validity testing, and student responses to small-scale testing. The type of research used is development research using the Borg & Gall model to small scale trials. This research was carried out from July to August 2023. The data collection techniques used in this research were interviews and giving questionnaires. The instruments used in this research were an interview guide sheet, a questionnaire sheet for product validation, and a student response questionnaire sheet. Next, the data was analyzed descriptively. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the practicum worksheet that was developed began with a preliminary study regarding the need for problem-based practicum worksheets on water quality material. The design developed is based on problem-based practical worksheet components that have been validated by two experts. Furthermore, a small-scale trial was carried out which showed that the material aspects were categorized as very good, the graphics were categorized as good, and the language was categorized as very good. Thus, the results of this development can be continued in large-scale tests and can be implemented in the practical learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami peningkatan literasi sains peserta didik melalui soal Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) dalam pembelajaran terkait materi keanekaragaman hayati pada tingkat sekolah menengah atas. Penelitian ini berjenis kuantitatif menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Peserta didik kelas X SMA sebanyak 64 orang merupakan subjek dalam penelitian ini. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pretest-Posttest Non Equivalent Control Group Design, dengan pembelajaran terkait pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan analisis N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata N-gain untuk kelas eksperimen (pembelajaran terkait) adalah sebesar 66,31% dan rata-rata N-gain kelas kontrol 30,27%. Kemampuan literasi sains siswa telah mengalami peningkatan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan literasi sains dengan menerapkan pembelajaran terkait termasuk ke dalam kategori cukup efektif. Proses pembelajaran ini terkait dengan beberapa aspek literasi sains, seperti pengetahuan, kompetensi, dan pengaplikasian yang dapat mengoptimalkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik.

Abstract

This research is development research with the aim to produce teaching material products in the form of PBL-based electronic student worksheets on air pollution sub-materials that will be used during the learning process, so that students can be more active and independent. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation), but this research is limited to the development stage. This research was conducted at State Senior High Schools in Palembang in the 2023/2024 school year. The sample in this study was class X students totaling 12 people. Sampling in this study using purposive sampling technique. electronic student worksheets are designed using the Canva and liveworksheets applications; after completing the design of electronic student worksheets, they are assessed by material and media validators using an instrument in the form of a validation questionnaire. After the electronic student worksheet is declared valid, the electronic student worksheet is applied to students in a small group trial.  Based on the validation results with the Kappa calculation, the electronic student worksheets were declared valid with a Kappa value of 1. Electronic student worksheets also fall into the very practical category based on the teacher's practicality questionnaire which obtained a percentage of 100%, while the students' practicality questionnaire obtained an average percentage of 90.68%. Based on the results of the validation and practicality questionnaires of teachers and students, it can be concluded that PBL-based electronic student worksheets are valid and feasible to use during the learning process on air pollution sub-materials.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru IPA di Muara Enim dalam menyusun E-LKPD berbasis PBL berbantuan Nearpod. Model kegiatan pengabdian yaitu model pendampingan yang ditujukan kepada guru IPA kabupaten Muara Enim untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru  dalam merancang E-LKPD berbasis PBL untuk menunjang literasi digital. Khalayak sasaran kegiatan pengabdian ini, yaitu kelompok guru IPA Muara Enim sebanyak 20 orang guru IPA yang berasal dari beberapa SMP Negeri dan Swasta di kabupaten Muara Enim. Metode yang ditempuh dalam kegiatan ini meliputi pelatihan, pendampingan dan evaluasi kegiatan. Produk yang dihasilkan adalah E-LKPD interaktif yang siap digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA serta mendukung literasi digital di kalangan guru. Pelatihan pembuatan E-LKPD berbasis PBL (Problem Based Learning) berbantuan Nearpod bagi guru IPA di Kabupaten Muara Enim telah terlaksana dengan baik dan mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan. Materi pelatihan yang disusun berdasarkan kebutuhan peserta terbukti relevan dan efektif. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan literasi digital dan kompetensi guru dalam merancang perangkat pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengembangan produk berupa Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik berorientasi Keterampilan Proses Sains materi keanekaragaman hayati sub materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup pada peserta didik SMA kelas X yang valid dan praktis serta dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terbatas dengan tahapan Analyze, Design, dan Development. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024 di kelas X SMA Gajah Mada 3 Palembang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada uji coba kelompok kecil dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 12 peserta didik pada kelas X. Indikator KPS yang dipilih adalah mengelompokan/klasifikasi, menafsirkan/interpretasi, berkomunikasi dan mengamati/observasi. Hasil persentase dari tiap indicator KPS adalah 91,6%; 89,5%; 85,4%; dan 83,3%.

Abstract

Background: National Assessment, including AKM, is designed to measure students' literacy and numeracy skills. However, many teachers find it difficult to develop AKM-based literacy questions due to lack of training. This training aims to improve teachers' understanding and skills in compiling literacy questions based on the AKM Framework through systematic training and mentoring. Methods: Phase I (Preliminary Study): observations, interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies were conducted to analyze teachers' knowledge related to AKM Framework literacy questions and prepare training materials. Phase II (Implementation): a workshop to provide understanding and practice in developing AKM Framework literacy questions with simulations and feedback. Phase III (Mentoring and Guidance): continuously assisting teachers in developing literacy questions. Phase IV (Evaluation): through monitoring, evaluation of training results, and follow-up for improvement. The target of this activity is 40 junior high school science teachers from the Palembang City Science MGMP, who are expected to be able to improve their pedagogical skills and become facilitators in schools. Evaluation was conducted through pre-test, post-test, question development assignments, and feedback questionnaires related to the training. Results: The post-test results showed an increase in teachers' understanding of AKM in the "very good" category reaching 36.8%. The responses of the training participants showed high satisfaction, especially in terms of design, duration, and method of delivering the material, with an average of 80-90% of participants giving positive assessments. Conclusion: This training is expected to not only support the implementation of AKM.

Abstract

Abstract: Video tutorials are audio-visual media that can guide practicum activities. Videos can facilitate digital literacy skills, supporting students' skills in using digital technology to access and communicate in practicum activities. The research aims to develop audio-visual media based on video tutorials to support students' digital literacy skills in practicum activities. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) research using the Borg & Gall model. Data collection techniques include administering questionnaires and pre-post tests. Data analysis used a Likert scale and n-gain test. The research results show that the product was developed during water pollution activities. Validation results with very good interpretation. Student responses to video tutorials can provide an overview of students' digital literacy abilities accompanied by high n-gain values for each indicator. Thus, developing audio-visual media based on video tutorials can strategically support students' digital literacy skills in practicum activities. Keywords: audio-visual media, video tutorials, practicum activities, digital literacy. Abstrak: Video tutorial merupakan media audio-visual yang dapat menjadi penuntun kegiatan praktikum. Penggunaan video dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan literasi digital yang dapat mendukung keterampilan mahasiswa dalam penggunaan teknologi digital untuk mengakses dan berkomunikasi dalam kegiatan praktikum. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangan media audio-visual berbasis video tutorial untuk menunjang kemampuan literasi digital mahasiswa pada kegiatan praktikum. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model Borg & Gall. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa pemberian angket dan tes awal-akhir. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala likert dan n-gain test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk dikembangkan pada kegiatan praktikum pencemaran air. Hasil validasi dengan interpretasi sangat baik. Respon mahasiswa pada video tutorial dapat memberikan gambaran tentang kemampuan literasi digital mahasiswa disertai nilai n-gain tinggi pada tiap indikator. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning (PBL) learning model on the science process skills (SPS) of grade XI students on respiratory system material. This research used quantitative method with pre-experimental design. Biology learning requires student-centered learning to improve students' science process skills. However, students are rarely involved in teaching and learning activities. The low level of participation of students in biology learning causes the science process skills of students to be less emphasized. The research was conducted by applying the PBL model to class XI.7 at SMAN 1 Palembang with respiratory system learning material. The instruments used included pre-test and post-test SPS tests, as well as a questionnaire sheet for students' responses to learning using PBL. Data analysis was done by normality test, paired t-test, effect size test, and N-gain test. The results showed that there was a significant effect on students' SPS with learning using the PBL model. The PBL model has a positive influence in improving the SPS aspects of observing, classifying, concluding, predicting, and communicating. This is supported by the results of filling out a questionnaire of students' responses to learning using the PBL model as a whole giving a very good response to PBL. This research can be further developed by using further research designs, such as research using a control class to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of PBL models with other learning models
