Abstract

Climate change is a global issue that requires awareness and understanding among younger generations to support sustainable environmental actions. This study aims to analyze the profile of climate change literacy among junior high school students (SMP) in Ogan Ilir Regency by considering school accreditation levels A, B, and C. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using purposive sampling, involving 184 ninth-grade students from three schools. The instrument consisted of 40 items covering three indicators: knowledge, attitude, and competence, with Cronbach’s alpha reliability scores of 0.548, 0.900, and 0.511, respectively. Instrument validity testing showed adequate results, with a KMO value of 0.863, SRMR of 0.072, and GFI of 0.990. The findings indicate that 46% of students were in the moderate category of climate change literacy. The attitude indicator achieved the highest percentage at 48%, reflecting a good level of awareness and concern toward climate change issues. However, school accreditation does not necessarily determine literacy level, as evidenced by SMP C (Accreditation C), which recorded the highest percentage in the high category overall. These results imply the need to strengthen environmentally-based curricula and implement contextual learning approaches to enhance students’ climate change literacy.

Abstract

The results of an interview with a science teacher in Ogan Ilir district that science teachers mastered the skills of various learning models including direct learning models. Some of the junior high school science materials are declarative or procedural. Material that is declarative or procedural requires skills that are carried out in stages of the entire series of activities displayed. The purpose of this community service activity (CSA) is to improve the ability of junior high school science teachers to master the direct teaching model, compile a direct teaching model rpp and be able to implement the direct teaching model in the classroom. The implementation of the activity is carried out in several stages, namely: 1. The preparatory stage, namely field observations and interviews with teachers, reading references to direct learning model materials, holding discussions with PPM team members, preparing training materials in the form of Power Point, approaching school staff and teachers and coordinating related parties. 2. Implementation stage, namely direct training with training methods, demonstrations and discussions and visualizations. Through CSA activities, science teachers from the Ogan Ilir MGMP groups can compile or modify direct learning models with a scientific approach. MGMP science teachers have been able to make 5 aspects of learning implementation planning (LIP), namely listing: learning indicators and objectives, organizing materials, media and learning resources, learning activity steps, and evaluating learning outcomes. Therefore, the RPP format made by mgmp science teachers in Ogan Ilir district was declared feasible. This is evident from the assessment results with all 100 values. After attending the CSA training material, participants enjoyed the material presented, felt that this material was very necessary and felt that their knowledge increased

Abstract

This research aims to determine the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for School Literacy Movement program activities in fostering students' interest in reading in South Sumatra. The research method used is a qualitative method using a phenomenological design approach which is used on multiple sites in three schools, namely IBA Elementary School of Palembang, 1 State Elementary School of Indralaya and 3 Elementary School of Kayuagung. The results of this research show that the supporting factors in the School Literacy Movement program at three schools in fostering students' interest in reading in class IV are: A complete library; Cozy Reading Corner; Interesting wall material; Attractive Reading Park and School Literacy Cart; Clear Identity Board; Literacy Tree; beautiful school gardens; Involvement of parents and the public; creative School Literacy Movement Team; School Garden; Training and Study Tour ; and an attractive Reading Campaign Poster. Factors that become obstacles in implementing the School Literacy Movement program in the three schools in fostering students' interest in reading in class IV. Students are lazy about studying; Students are not used to reading; Library management is not yet supported by officers who have librarian qualifications and parent collaboration is not good. Based on this, it can be concluded that fostering interest in reading in elementary school students in South Sumatra is influenced by both supporting and inhibiting factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja elektronik bermuatan literasi sains dan numerasi dengan dukungan teknologi digital. Pengembangan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan pemahaman dalam mempelajari konsep-konsep sains serta terbatasnya media pembelajaran interaktif yang relevan dengan tuntutan Literasi Abad 21. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, perancangan, dan pengembangan produk. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa lembar kerja elektronik interaktif pada berbagai submateri biologi bioteknologi, ekosistem, dan pencemaran air dengan memanfaatkan platform Liveworksheets, Canva, Google Sites serta Virtual Laboratory. Implementasi pembelajaran dirancang dengan pendekatan Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah. Validasi dilakukan oleh para ahli materi, bahasa, media, dan konstruk, disertai uji coba kelompok kecil yang melibatkan peserta didik, guru, dan mahasiswa calon guru di Sumatera Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk lembar kerja elektronik tersebut yang dikembangkan terkategori sangat valid dengan nilai validasi ahli mencapai 92,5% dan sangat praktis dengan tingkat kepraktisan berkisar antara 87,7%–96,35%. Oleh sebab itu diketahui bahwa lembar kerja elektronik bermuatan literasi sains dan numerasi berbantuan teknologi digital yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar biologi yang inovatif dan adaptif. Produk ini berpotensi mendukung penguatan literasi sains, literasi numerasi, dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran Abad 21.

Abstract

Kemampuan spasial memiliki peran penting dalam memahami materi sistem respirasi karena peserta didik perlu mengenali bentuk, posisi, dan hubungan antarorgan pernapasan secara tepat. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya, kemampuan spasial peserta didik masih tergolong rendah. Peserta didik cenderung kesulitan dalam memvisualisasikan struktur organ, menentukan posisi antarbagian sistem respirasi, serta melakukan rotasi mental terhadap bentuk organ. Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya media pembelajaran interaktif dan minimnya penerapan model pembelajaran inovatif di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbantuan Nearpod terhadap peningkatan kemampuan spasial peserta didik pada materi sistem respirasi. Metode yang akan digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain one group pretest- posttest design. Diharapkan melalui penerapan PjBL berbantuan Nearpod, peserta didik dapat lebih aktif, terlibat dalam eksplorasi konsep secara visual, dan memiliki pemahaman yang lebih mendalam terhadap struktur serta fungsi sistem respirasi.
