Abstract

This research aims to analyze the performance of the Baubau City General Election Commission (KPU) in carrying out its duties and authority by Law Number 7 of 2017 and KPU Regulation Number 9 of 2022. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, supported by Lasswell's theory and Robert K. Merton's role theory. The research results show that the Baubau KPU has exceeded the national target in holding the 2024 Simultaneous Elections with a participation rate of 80.36%. In implementing voter outreach and education, the Baubau KPU ensures that communication runs clearly and effectively. The Baubau KPU carries out its role using various socialization methods such as face-to-face meetings in 43 sub-districts in collaboration with the Ad Hoc Agency and involving multiple parties such as the Regional Government, KesbangPol, Political Party Community Groups, NGOs, and Educational Institutions. Various superior programs run by KPU Baubau include seminars, workshops, discussions, and simulations that raise exciting topics related to elections held in multiple places, including KPU Goes to School, KPU Goes to Campus, KPU Goes to Islamic Boarding School, Election Carnival, Group Forum Discussion (FGD), Making a Video of 2024 Election Jingle Creation Exercises and Screening of the Film "Kejarlah Janji." The Baubau KPU also optimizes various mass media in the form of print and electronic media (online news) such as banners, brochures, pamphlets, posters, and social media on multiple platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and websites which aim to expand the dissemination of election-related information by upholding openness. And transparency of information to build public trust. In conclusion, the lack of human resources in managing social media and limitations in understanding technology and information has resulted in a need for updated information regarding elections on the YouTube platform and the Baubau KPU website. Abstract

Remaja merupakan generasi yang harus diselamatkan dari penyalahgunaan narkoba untuk mendapatkan penerus bangsa yang berkualitas dan sehat. Apabila remaja selamat dari kejahatan narkoba maka kedepannya sebuah bangsa memiliki peluang yang lebih besar untuk menjadi negara maju dan kuat. Program Teman Sebaya Anti Narkoba BNN Kota Baubau merupakan program yang dilakukan oleh BNN untuk meminimalisir penyalahgunaan penggunaan Narkoba dikalangan remaja di Kota Bau-Bau. Program ini nantinya akan melatih beberapa peserta (duta) yang mengikuti kegiatan, sosialisasi dan pelatihan, sehingga diharapkan nantinya hasil yang didapatkan oleh peserta dapat diimplementasikan pada lingkungan dan teman sebaya para peserta yang telah mengikuti pelatihan.  Dengan adanya program tersebut maka perlu dilihat tindak lanjut yang ada pada para peserta yang telah mengikuti rangkaian program yang telah diberikan oleh BNN Kota Bau-Bau. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui lebih jauh mengenai implementasi program teman sebaya anti narkoba di Kota Baubau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi studi kasus intrinsik dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam proses pengumpulan data digunakam cara melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, reduksi data, penyajian (display data), kesimpulan, dan verifikasi (menarik kesimpulan/verifikasi). Baik data primer maupun sekunder digunakan sebagai sumber data penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan verifikasi data selanjutnya akan digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program Remaja Sebaya Anti Narkoba, BNN, mengimplementasikan ide-ide mendasar dalam menumbuhkan ketahanan diri seperti pengaturan diri, perilaku asertif, dan menjangkau remaja dengan menggunakan Teori Strategi Komunikasi AIDDA serta Teori Interaksi Simbolik untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan kesadaran remaja tentang risiko yang terkait dengan penyalahgunaan narkoba, baik di antara mereka sendiri maupun di masyarakat luas. Adapun peran ramaja pasca pelaksanaan program tersebut yaitu mengimplementasikan ilmu ketahanan diri dan menjadi “Role Model” untuk memberikan edukasi ataupun mengajak teman-teman sebayanya dalam memberantas penyalahgunaan narkoba dengan membuat komunitas, membuat film pendek di youtube dan juga sosialisasi baik bersama pihak BNN sendiri ataupun inisiatif dari duta remaja dilingkungannya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the conversation that transpired on Twitter following the Indonesia 2024 presidential election debate, with particular attention on the phrase "Ndasmu." To better comprehend the speech patterns and attitudes that surface in online interactions, this research use topic modeling and sentiment analysis. The following Twitter data collection steps are part of this research methodology: To retrieve relevant tweets, use the Tweepy library to access the Twitter API. Access can only be obtained using a Twitter API key. Pre-processing Text: Eliminating superfluous characters, links, and mentions from the text data. Tokenizing text means breaking it up into individual words or phrases. eliminating stop words. Topic Modeling: Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) or Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) are two methods used for topic modeling. Two well-liked Python packages for topic modeling are Scikit-learn and Gensim. Sentiment analysis can be done with TextBlob or NLTK. While TextBlob makes things easier, NLTK offers more customization options. Visualization: Producing word clouds for subjects and sentiment distribution, among other visual representations of the data, requires the use of tools like Matplotlib or Seaborn. It is anticipated that the study's findings would provide light on the prevailing themes in the "Ndasmu" discourse and the attitudes that accompanied the presidential debates. These findings can help us comprehend the dynamics of public opinion and how individuals react to important political occasions like debates for the presidential nomination.

Abstract

Introduction: Datafication still plagues Indonesian journalists, especially local ones, skewing news validity and neutrality. Indonesian journalists from 13 local media were surveyed and interviewed for this study. This study relied on several studies that suggest journalists may deliver more accurate, objective, and unbiased news by expanding their datafication capacity. As digital technology advances and social media spreads misinformation, it becomes critical. Methods: Mixed-methods experimentation and triangulation. Indonesia has 13 native media representing its diversity. Using regional media, this study can illustrate data journalism literacy levels in different locations, including those with differing technology and education. We chose material based on data journalism approaches including data visualization, infographics, and data-driven reporting. This ensures study-relevant respondents. Findings: Indonesian media's poor data literacy has a big impact. Data-driven journalism in local media is poor due to data analysis incompetence. Access and chances for journalists to develop data skills are major issues. Clearly, formal training is needed. Another factor is local media's focus on reporting speed over data analysis. Lack of technology and institutional support hinders local journalist data literacy projects. Originality: Previous studies on Indonesian journalists' datafication knowledge and abilities are scarce and fragmented. Despite data journalism's growing popularity in newsrooms and academic status, comprehensive study is needed to define it.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of therapeutic communication in the rehabilitation process of drug users at the Class II A Baubau Correctional Facility (Lapas). Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews with counselors and residents, as well as direct observation. The results show that therapeutic communication, based on empathy and attention, implemented through the Therapeutic Community (TC) model, is effective in building trust between counselors and residents, which in turn increases residents' motivation to actively engage in the rehabilitation process. Challenges faced include residents' difficulty in opening up at the beginning of rehabilitation, but with a non-coercive approach and the family-like atmosphere applied within TC, counselors succeeded in supporting positive changes in the residents' lives. This study also highlights the importance of further training for counselors to optimize therapeutic communication in drug rehabilitation

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini melakukan analisis konten Instagram @um_buton Sebagai Transformasi Informasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi dan paradigma kritis untuk menganalisis konten Instagram @um_buton. Peneliti membagi konten menjadi empat pilar strategi dan melakukan observasi langsung serta studi literatur untuk mengumpulkan data. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi non-partisipan, di mana peneliti mengamati tanpa terlibat langsung, dan dokumentasi dari berbagai sumber tertulis. Analisis data mengikuti model Miles dan Huberman, dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari observasi peneliti terkait analisis konten Instagram @um_buton sebagai sarana transformasi informasi, disimpulkan bahwa peneliti menggunakan konsep empat pilar strategi media sosial. Pilar tersebut meliputi konten promosi, hiburan, pendidikan, dan percakapan. Konsep ini penting untuk mengembangkan media sosial, khususnya dalam menyusun strategi konten yang interaktif dan menarik. Observasi menunjukkan bahwa konten promosi adalah yang paling sering diunggah, dengan penggunaan hashtag #UMButon untuk memperluas jangkauan. Konten tidak hanya berfokus pada pemasaran kampus tetapi juga edukasi tentang nilai-nilai yang dipegang oleh UM Buton, sehingga masyarakat dapat lebih mengenal dan memahami kampus tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis visual marketing dari beberapa foto produk yang dihasilkan oleh akun Instagram @ranahkacavisual menggunakan teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Teori Peirce yang membagi tanda (sign) menjadi objek (object), penanda (sign), dan interpretant (interpretant) digunakan sebagai kerangka utama untuk memahami bagaimana elemen-elemen visual dalam foto produk menyampaikan makna kepada audiens. Hasil temuan melalui dokumentasi dan observasi @ranahkacavisual secara efektif menggunakan elemen-elemen visual seperti komposisi, warna, dan konteks untuk menekankan produk utama dan membangun citra merek yang kuat. Elemen-elemen tambahan seperti alat makan, latar belakang, dan dekorasi juga berperan penting dalam menyampaikan cerita dan menciptakan hubungan emosional dengan audiens. Meskipun masih terdapat kekurangan dalam beberapa foto produk khususnya pada penggunaan elemen pelengkap yang tidak relevan dengan produk. penggunaan teori semiotika Peirce dapat memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang bagaimana visual marketing dapat digunakan untuk menyampaikan pesan, membangun identitas merek, dan menciptakan hubungan emosional dengan audiens. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan yang berharga bagi praktisi visual marketing dalam merancang strategi visual yang efektif dan menarik.

Abstract

Sebagian negara kekayaan alam yang melimpah, indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang berkembang yang memiliki berbagai potensi yang besar hampir di segala sektor, salah satunya pariwisata. Pariwisata dianggap menjadi bagian dari sektor ekonomi penting bagi negara, dimana pariwisata seara langsung memberikan kontribusi. Buton tengah merupakan  daerah yang banyak memiliki destinasi wisata yang indah yang belum banyak diketahui banyak orang. Salah satunya wisata pantai marboro yang terletak di desa balobone kecamatan mawasangka, buton tengah. Penelitian ini lakukan karena destinasi wisata di desa balobone yaitu pantai marboro kurang pengujung minat wisata wisatawan lokal dan domestik. Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk mengetahui Awareness, Interest, Desire, Decision, dan Action dalam strategi komunikasi pariwisata desa balobone  kecamatan mawasangka kabupaten buton tengah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah AIDDA yaitu Awareness, Interest, Desire, Decision, dan Action. Metode ini yang digunakan adalah analisi deskriptif dengan  pendekatan kuliatatif. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan obsevasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian adalah bahwa strategi komunikasi pariwisata di desa balobone memliki potensi yang baik tetapi belum sepenuhnyaeffektif. Terdapat beberapa kendala seperti konflik sosial dan ketersediaan fasilitas yang mempengaruhi optimalisasi promosi. Selain itu, kebutuhan akan peningkatan kualitas infrastruktur dan fasilitas seprti toilet umum dan gajebo, serta kebutuhan untuk memperluas promosi untuk mencapai pengakuan yang lebih luas, menunjukan bahawa masi ada ruang untuk perbaikan agar straregi komunikasi lebih efektif.

Abstract

Community service activities were carried out in Wasuemba Village, Buton Regency with participants from the Lahunduru Tourism Awareness Group. Wasuemba Village has tourism potential that can be developed as a tourist village. Wasuemba village has many interesting and unique things that can be presented to visitors/tourists who come to this place. Some of the partner's priority problems, namely the Lahunduru Tourism Awareness Group of Wasuemba Village has not prepared a mature concept for branding activities and the unavailability of human resources in managing the branding of Wasuemba Tourism Village. The Lahunduru Tourism Awareness Group of Wasuemba Village is still lacking in branding Wasuemba Tourism Village, digital technology media is a means of marketing or digital marketing to advance the products they want to market. The data and information will make it easier for the Tourism Awareness Group to create or develop something that they want to market. The purpose of this service is to increase the knowledge and ability of the Lahunduru Tourism Awareness Group in branding Wasuemba Tourism Village so that it can target tourists. The method used in this community service activity is to conduct a survey, then conduct a needs analysis by the PKM Team, after that proceed with socializing and assisting PKM activities. The results of this activity were that the Lahunduru Tourism Awareness Group of Wasuemba Village received information about tourism awareness groups that are actors driving village tourism, and the Lahunduru Tourism Awareness Group received additional knowledge related to branding tourist villages.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is that the percentage of poor people in 2023 increased by 0.22 percent compared to 2022. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the poverty condition in Kota Baubau. The method used in this research is a mix method, namely qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative analysis was conducted by collecting data using interview techniques to find out the poverty reduction program of Kota Baubau in 2023 which is divided into three clusters, namely the expenditure reduction cluster, the income generation cluster, and the poverty reduction cluster. Quantitative analysis Quantitative analysis was also used to analyze and interpret data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Baubau City and BPS of Southeast Sulawesi. The results showed that Baubau City experienced an increase in the growth of the number of poor people from 12,690 people in 2022, to 13,290 people in 2023. The poverty depth index of Baubau City was documented in 2022 at 0.80, there was an increase in 2023 at 1.21. The poverty severity index of Baubau City was recorded at 0.17 in 2022, but increased again to 0.48 in 2023. The poverty line of Baubau City in 2022 amounted to 376,932 (Rp/Capita/Month) which in 2023 increased by Rp82,031 to Rp412,008. The novelty of this research lies in the use of a mixed methods approach combined with bibliometric analysis and three-cluster strategy mapping in assessing the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programs specifically in Baubau City.
