Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of organisational culture, work environment, and leadership style through innovation on employee performance at PT Telkomsel Branch Makassar. This company faces challenges in maintaining productivity and achieving the expected targets, marked by fluctuations in employee performance in various regions. Factors such as less than optimal organisational culture in supporting innovation, an uncomfortable work environment, and a leadership style that is not optimal are thought to contribute to the decline in performance. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of PT Telkomsel Branch Makassar. The variables studied include organisational culture, work environment, leadership style, innovation, and employee performance, with multiple linear regression analysis used to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that an organisational culture that supports innovation and a conducive work environment significantly influenced the improvement of employee performance. A participative leadership style also positively contributes to increased innovation and team collaboration. Innovation acts as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between organisational culture, work environment, and leadership style on employee performance. The findings provide important implications for companies in creating a more innovative environment and supporting employee growth, in order to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study aims to improve narrative writing skills based on local wisdom among the students of Class XI MIPA 2 at SMA Negeri 18 Bone. This research was conducted through Classroom Action Research (CAR) implemented in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 34 students whose initial narrative writing ability was relatively low. The pre-cycle observation revealed that most students had difficulties in organizing narrative structures, developing a coherent plot, and integrating elements of local wisdom—such as customs, cultural values, and Bone folklore—into their writing. To address these challenges, a local wisdom-based learning strategy was applied by utilizing regional folklore texts, cultural discussions, and contextual narrative examples relevant to students’ daily lives. The findings indicated improvement in students’ writing ability in each cycle. In the first cycle, the average score reached 77.35 with a classical mastery level of 94.11%. However, weaknesses were still found in developing conflicts and story depth. Improvements were made in the second cycle through collaborative guidance, richer examples, and direct assistance during the revision process. The results showed a significant increase with an average score of 87.94 and 100% classical mastery. Improvements occurred in all assessment aspects, including narrative structure, plot coherence, language style, and the use of local wisdom elements. Thus, the implementation of local wisdom-based narrative writing proved effective in enhancing students’ writing ability while fostering motivation, creativity, and appreciation for regional culture.

Abstract

Malaria remains a significant public health problem in Papua. Keerom is one of the districts with a high incidence of malaria. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) in comparison to microscopic examination, the gold standard for malaria diagnosis. This descriptive analytic study involved 40 suspected malaria patients at Arso III Health Center, Skanto District, Keerom Regency, Papua. Blood samples were examined using thick blood smears, thin blood smears, and the Care Start RDT. The study employed a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling. Microscopic examination identified five positive cases, corresponding to 12.5 percent, while the RDT detected nine positive cases, representing 22.5 percent of the total. The diagnostic analysis of the RDT revealed a sensitivity of 100 percent, a specificity of 88.6 percent, a positive predictive value of 55.6 percent, and a negative predictive value of 100 percent. The McNemar test showed a significant difference, p = 0.046. RDT proved reliable for excluding malaria, as no false-negative results were found. However, positive results require confirmation by microscopy or PCR to avoid misidentification and treatment errors.

Abstract

Adherence to a 14-day primaquine regimen is essential for the radical cure of Plasmodium vivax malaria, yet adherence levels may vary across patient characteristics. This study examined variations in adherence to primaquine therapy based on sociodemographic, clinical, and environmental factors among P. vivax malaria patients in Jayapura City, Papua. A quantitative study was conducted among 278 patients attending six primary health centers, with adherence to primaquine for 14 days assessed using a per-protocol approach and pill count method. Patients were classified as having received specific education or not received specific education regarding primaquine therapy. Subgroup analyses were performed using the Chi-square test, and results were presented as risk ratios (RR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). Adherence was higher among patients who received specific education (85.0%) compared with those who did not (61.8%; RR = 1.37; 95% CI: 1.19–1.58; p < 0.001). Higher adherence was observed among patients aged 15–29 years (RR = 1.32; 95% CI: 1.05–1.68; p = 0.017) and ≥30 years (RR = 1.75; 95% CI: 1.29–2.30; p = 0.002), patients with a history of malaria relapse (RR = 1.64; 95% CI: 1.30–2.08; p < 0.001), those living near swamp or lake areas (RR = 1.68; 95% CI: 1.18–2.38; p = 0.003), and patients who experienced drug side effects (RR = 2.33; 95% CI: 1.53–3.56; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that adherence to primaquine therapy varies according to patient characteristics, suggesting the need for targeted educational strategies tailored to specific patient profiles to improve adherence to radical cure treatment for P. vivax malaria.
