Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Iron nutritional anemia is the biggest micronutrient problem in Indonesia, which occurs in groups of toddlers, school children, pregnant women, women and adult men. In general, anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin level is lower than normal. According to WHO, in 2021, the prevalence of anemia in productive women (15-54) in the world is around 29.9%. Objective: This research aims to determine the effect of giving modified boiler chicken liver nuggets and green spinach leaves on increasing hemoglobin levels in anemic adolescent girls. This research was conducted from 22 April to 06 May 2024 at MAN Rejang Lebong Research Method: used in this research was the Quasy Experiment method with a one group pre-post test design, namely a quasi-experiment carried out on one group. The sample was selected using quota sampling with a sample size of 41 people. Results: statistical tests showed that the effect of giving modified chicken liver nuggets and green spinach leaves showed that the average Hemoglobin level before the intervention was 10.89 g/dL with a standard deviation of 1,037 and after the intervention it was 11.55 g/dL with a standard deviation of 1,470 Results The difference in the average measurement of hemoglobin levels before and after was 0.73 g/dL with a standard deviation of 1.253. The statistical test results obtained a p value = 0.000, so it can be concluded that there was an effect of giving modified chicken liver nuggets and green spinach leaves on increasing Hemoglobin levels before and after the intervention. Abstract

Anemia is a condition of low hemoglobin levels in the blood that leads to a decrease in the number of red blood cells. It is the second leading cause of disability in the world and a global public health issue. In Palembang City, the prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls reached 26.5%. If left untreated, anemia can continue into adulthood and increase the risk of pregnancy complications, such as maternal death, premature birth, and low birth weight babies. One of the causes is the low behavior of adolescent girls regarding anemia prevention. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of counseling through lecture method and flipchart media on the behavior of adolescent girls about anemia prevention at SMAN 14 Palembang. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a two group pretest-posttest design on 70 female students of class X and XI, who were randomly divided into two groups, namely lecture and flipchart. Results showed an increase in knowledge, attitudes, and actions in both groups after counseling. In the lecture group, knowledge increased from 61.43 to 77.43, attitude from 54.29 to 74.71, and action from 78.43 to 89.14. In the flipchart group, knowledge increased from 70.57 to 82.86, attitude from 59.00 to 75.29, and action from 79.29 to 89.71. Wilcoxon test showed p = 0.000 in all variables of both groups. Nutrition counseling through lecture method and flipchart media is effective in improving adolescent girls' behavior in anemia prevention.Thus, nutrition counseling through lectures and flip charts proved to be effective in improving adolescent girls' behavior related to anemia prevention. Abstract

Kekurangan Energi Kronis adalah suatu keadaan  yang disebabkan ketidakseimbangan asupan energi dan protein, hal ini menyebabkan zat-zat gizi yang diperlukan oleh tubuh tidak terpenuhi . Wanita  dan Anak-anak sangat beresiko untuk mengalami KEK. Proporsi wanita pada usia muda (15 – 19 tahun) dengan risiko tinggi KEK. Bahaya KEK pada remaja berupa perkembangan organ dan fisik  yang kurang maksimal serta anemia dapat mempengaruhi produktivitas remaja putri. Berdasarkan data Survei Kesehatan Indonesia (SKI) tahun 2023 menunjukkan prevalensi Kurang  Energi Kronis (KEK) pada remaja 15-19 tahun di Indonesia cukup tinggi, mencapai 41,9%. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi gizi seimbang dengan media booklet dengan tujuan  memperbaiki pola makan remaja putri SMA Nurul Amal Palembang dengan jumlah responden 30 orang. Metode Intervensi dilakukan tiga kali Pertemuan berupa edukasi  dan demonstrasi dengan menggunakan booklet tentang Pedoman Gizi Seimbang dan Angka Kecukupan Gizi remaja putri selama tiga bulan. Indikator yang digunakan adalah IMT/U untuk Status Gizi dan ukuran LILA < 23,5 cm untuk status KEK,  Hasil  Intervensi menunjukan perubahan status gizi,  Underweight  turun dari 33,3% menjadi 20%, Normal meningkat 56,7% ke 70%. Status KEK turun dari 50% menjadi 40%,  status tidak KEK : naik dari 50% ke 60%.
