Abstract

Information technology today is highly advanced and has a significant impact on the government sector, particularly in managing time and resources. One application of information technology is the scheduling information system for the members of the West Java Provincial DPRD. However, until now, the scheduling system in the West Java Provincial DPRD still uses a manual method with Microsoft Word. This has resulted in the scheduling process being less efficient and highly prone to errors. The manual method complicates data retrieval, information updates, and structured documentation. To address this issue, a web-based scheduling information system has been designed using the CodeIgniter framework. The development method used is the waterfall method, which starts from the requirements analysis phase to the maintenance phase. System testing is conducted using the black-box method and questionnaires, which indicate that all functions within the system operate well according to user needs. With this information system, the scheduling process in the West Java Provincial DPRD becomes faster, more accurate, and well-documented. This system also assists staff in organizing and monitoring activity schedules, while reducing errors that often occur in the manual system.

Abstract

Advancements in information technology have accelerated digital transformation across various sectors, including public services. The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of West Java Province holds a strategic role in accommodating and responding to public aspirations and complaints. However, the existing manual complaint management process presents significant challenges, such as inefficiencies in operations, limited transparency, and potential inaccuracies in data handling. To address these issues, this study proposes the design and development of an integrated, web-based public complaint information system. The system is developed using the structured Waterfall model, which includes stages of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. PHP and MySQL serve as the core technologies for development. Results from black-box testing indicate that all system functionalities perform as expected. The system allows users to register, submit complaints, and track their status in real time, while administrators can efficiently manage and respond to complaints through an online interface. This solution is expected to strengthen communication between the public and the DPRD and to foster greater public participation in government accountability and oversight.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based digital letter information system to facilitate document management at the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of West Java Province. Currently, the manual process causes delays in disposition and makes archive retrieval inefficient. To address this, a descriptive qualitative method was used involving observation, interviews, and document review. The system was developed following the Waterfall model with PHP as the programming language and MySQL as the database. Key features include admin login, management of incoming and outgoing letters, digital disposition, agenda book, file gallery, user management, and database backup and restore. Implementation demonstrated improved efficiency in letter distribution, archive tracking, and administrative workflow. This system is intended as an initial step toward archive digitization and can be expanded to support inter-departmental integration and enhanced document security.
