Abstract

This study investigates the influence of work motivation, work discipline, and work environment on the performance of employees in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) undergoing digital transformation. As MSMEs increasingly adopt digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness, employee performance becomes a critical factor in ensuring the success of this transition. This research employs a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 150 MSME employees who are directly involved in digitally supported work processes. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire measured on a Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The results indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, suggesting that motivated employees are more capable of adapting to digital work environments. Work discipline is also found to significantly influence employee performance, highlighting the importance of adherence to rules, time management, and responsibility in technology-mediated work settings. Furthermore, the work environment emerges as the strongest predictor of employee performance, emphasizing the role of supportive organizational conditions and adequate digital infrastructure. Collectively, work motivation, work discipline, and work environment explain a substantial proportion of variance in employee performance. These findings provide practical insights for MSME owners and managers in designing effective human resource strategies to support successful digital transformation.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of employee voice mechanisms and organizational climate on employee engagement and innovation culture in the manufacturing industry in Karawang, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 120 employees using a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3) to examine both the measurement and structural models. The results indicate that employee voice mechanisms and organizational climate have significant positive effects on employee engagement. Organizational climate demonstrates a stronger influence, highlighting the importance of a supportive and open work environment in enhancing employee involvement. Furthermore, both employee voice mechanisms and organizational climate significantly affect innovation culture. Employee engagement is also found to have a significant positive impact on innovation culture and plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between the independent variables and innovation culture. These findings suggest that organizations in the manufacturing sector should prioritize the development of effective communication channels and foster a positive organizational climate to enhance employee engagement and promote innovation. This study contributes to the literature by integrating key organizational behavior variables into a comprehensive model and provides practical implications for improving organizational competitiveness through human resource strategies.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology and globalization has encouraged organizations to enhance their adaptability through strengthening governance and information security. However, many organizations still face limitations in implementing good governance principles and managing information security effectively. This Community Service Program aims to improve participants’ understanding of the importance of good governance and information security in creating adaptive organizations in the era of digital globalization. The program was conducted online through Zoom Meeting and involved approximately 88 participants from various organizational and professional backgrounds. The implementation method consisted of preparation, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages using an educative-participatory approach through socialization, training, and interactive discussions. Program evaluation was carried out using pre-tests and post-tests to measure participants’ level of understanding before and after the activity. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, indicated by an increase in the average pre-test score from 68 to 86 in the post-test. In addition to enhancing participants’ literacy regarding organizational governance and information security, the program also increased awareness of the importance of digital risk management, data protection, and strengthening an adaptive organizational culture. Therefore, this community service activity provided a positive contribution to supporting the development of professional, secure, and responsive organizations in facing digital transformation.
