Abstract

Community service was held in Purworejo Village, Central Java. The purpose of this community service is empowering and increasing Buddhist resources through the digital library development program. Community service method used is ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) approach. The result of this community service is; 1) Buddhists can better understand about digital literacy, 2) gain basic digital skills, 3) temple administrators can utilize technology for religious activities, 4) community participation in digital mastery is formed. Besides that, it has also provided welfare to the people, digital literacy and internet access have opened the horizons of information needed by people to increase insight and broadcast religion throughout indonesia, especially in Purworejo Regency.

Abstract

Teachers who still do not have pedagogical competence are not able to create good learning conditions and cannot condition students' learning methods to be effective and successful due to teachers' literacy culture and limited ability to manage learning. The aim of this research was to determine the influence of literacy culture on the pedagogical competence of high school/vocational school level Buddhist teachers in Indonesia. This research uses quantitative research methods. This researcher used a survey approach with a sample of 37 high school/vocational school teachers in various regions in Indonesia via Google form. The results of this research are that literacy culture influences teacher pedagogical competence. This is proven by the regression coefficient value of the literacy culture variable (t calculated) which is 2.835 compared to the t table of 2.059, the significance of the literacy culture variable on the related variable, namely teacher pedagogical competence, is 0.009 or smaller than the error threshold value of 0.05.

Abstract

This paper discusses the success or failure of the implementation of civic education learning programs that implement character values. The assessment was carried out by analyzing the Context, Input, Process, and Product for the implementation of the civic education learning program in class 5 at SD Negeri Jumo. The research was conducted from October to February 2022 to 2023. The research is evaluation research with a qualitative approach using the CIPP model. The research results indicate that context, seen from the vision, mission, school goals, syllabus, strategies, and programs, is appropriate and supports character building. Input is also based on the background of the teachers, students, facilities/infrastructure, formulation of lesson plans, and teaching materials that are appropriate in supporting the learning process so that the learning process can be carried out properly. The process is in the form of implementing civic education learning in which the teacher has carried out according to the lesson plans, in the implementation, the right methods/strategies, tools/media, and teaching materials have supported character education. The product has been achieved enough well, where students already have character values such as applying 5S(smile, greeting, greeting, being polite and courteous), cooperation, mutual cooperation, etc, and can apply them in everyday life. Abstract

This study examines the strategies of the modern Dharmaduta Fo Guang Shan  in actualizing Dharma as a source of social and humanitarian harmony. Using a sociocultural approach, this study highlights three main aspects: family education as a space for internalizing kusala kamma (good thinking, good speech, and good deeds), arts and culture as a means of engaging the younger generation, and the use of digital technology as a medium for disseminating Dharma. These practices demonstrate the transformation of Buddhist teachings from ritualistic forms to concrete humanitarian practices that adapt to changing times. From the perspectives of Durkheim, Geertz, Bourdieu, and Habermas, Fo Guang Shan  activities represent the embodiment of social solidarity, shared understanding of cultural meanings, internalization of values, and symbolic communication across generations. Dharma is no longer confined to the realm of worship but is present in everyday life as an art of living that fosters virtue, compassion, and peace. The results of this study confirm that Humanist Buddhism is able to address global challenges through harmonious social and spiritual innovation, making Dharma a force for universal social harmony.

Abstract

This study compares the Buddhist curriculum and education methods between Fo Guang Shan which is global and modern in style and the local and structured Raden Wijaya State STAB. The problem arises from significant differences in the approach of the two to Buddhist education. The purpose of the study was to analyze these differences to understand their implications for the spread of Buddhism. The method used is a literature study by examining books, journals, reports, and relevant literature. The data was analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results show that Fo Guang Shan emphasizes innovation and multiculturalism, while STAB prioritizes national regulations and local wisdom. The conclusion confirms that Buddhist education is able to transform according to the social context, as well as offering a framework for curriculum development that is adaptive and balanced between a global orientation and the preservation of local values.

Abstract

Perbedaan karakteristik peserta didik mendorong guru untuk menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi guna mendukung keberhasilan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka, khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPAS di SD Negeri 3 Getas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi, dampak, dan hambatan penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada mata pelajaran IPAS di kelas VI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dilaksanakan melalui tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Dampak pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yaitu meningkatkan keaktifan, kreativitas, dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Hambatan yang dihadapi yaitu guru keterbatasan waktu dalam membuat bahan ajar bervariasi dan keterbatasan sarana prasarana dalam proses pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi mampu meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan gaya belajar peserta didik, meskipun masih terdapat hambatan dalam penerapannya.

Abstract

Pariwisata merupakan salah satu sektor yang dapat merubah ekonomi, salah satu contoh pariwisata yaitu Candi Mendut, merupakan candi Budha yang terletak di Desa Mendut, Kecamatan Mungkid, Kabupaten Magelang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dampak pariwisata Candi Mendut terhadap perekonomian masyarakat, dan bentuk-bentuk usaha pariwisata yang ada di Candi Mendut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, sumber data diambil dari wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat bentuk-bentuk usaha pariwisata yang ada antara lain usaha kuliner, akomodasi, transportasi dan pemandu wisata. Objek wisata Candi Mendut juga  berdampak pada peluang kesempatan kerja dan dampak terhadap perekonomian masyarakat. Bentuk-bentuk usaha pariwisata yang ada antara lain usaha kuliner, akomodasi, transportasi dan pemandu wisata, dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Candi Mendut dapat memberikan peluang untuk terbentuknya usaha pariwisata yang berdampak pada kesempatan kerja dan juga dampak terhadap perekonomian masyarakat.

Abstract

This study explores culture shock and communication adaptation among students in the Indonesian context of Fo Guang Shan, a transnational Buddhist organization grounded in Humanistic Buddhism. Using an observational research design and thematic analysis based on Kim’s Integrative Communication Theory, the study examines students’ daily interactions and participation in religious and educational activities. The findings show that culture shock emerges through differences in language, symbols, nonverbal cues, and interaction styles, especially in the early stages of engagement. Communication adaptation develops gradually through awareness of cultural differences, experimentation with local norms, and growing confidence supported by community participation. The Fo Guang Shan environment plays a dual role, initially creating communicative tension but later functioning as a supportive learning space that accelerates students’ social integration. The study contributes to applied intercultural communication by showing how culture shock in religious settings can become a learning resource and by offering practical insights for designing context-specific intercultural orientation and training programs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy in maintaining the existence of the Nava Dhammasekha Virya Guna school in Jepara Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study at Nava Dhammasekha Virya Guna School, Jepara Regency. Informants consist of the Head of the Foundation, the principal, one teacher, one education staff, one community leader and one representative of the student's parents. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and document studies. Data validity is in the form of credibility, dependability, transferability, and confirmability. Data analysis uses an interactive model. The challenges in maintaining the existence of the Nava Dhammasekha Virya Guna school can be seen from three current challenges such as; 1) The brand and image of the Dhammasekha school which is not yet strong in the community, 2) Limited segmentation and market, 3) Support from the community and stakeholders which is not yet optimal. This research will be useful for the Government, especially Direktorat Jenderal Bimbingan Masyarakat Buddha Kementerian Agama, Nava Dhammasekha School Organizers and Education Observers.
