Abstract

ABSTRACT The anchovy  (Stolephorus sp.)  in  Muara  Sungsang  estuary South Sumatera  are  generally caught by stationary liftnet. Morphometric studies are essential to determine the growth form and growth rate of species, which is  very much important for proper  utilization  and management of the population of the species. This study aimed to determine the size structure and growth pattern of the  anchovy  caught  by  stationary  liftnet.  The   size  structure,  length -weight  relationship  and  the condition factor  of  anchovy were computed.  The anchovy samples were taken  in July 2013 (750 samples) and September 2013 (1950 samples).    Results  showed  that the population of anchovy was  dominated by length frequency distribution  of  65 mm during study on July 2013 and 75 mm during  study  on  September  2013.  Both  populations  were  dominated  by  weight  frequency distribution 2 gram.  The anchovy that caught on September 2013 were more allowable catch than on July 2013. The growth pattern of anchovy was negative allometric. The relative condition factor (Kn)  value  in  September  2013  was  higher  than  in  July  2013.  It  indicated  that  the  environmental conditions  at  Muara  Sungsang  estuary  are  suitable  for  growth  of  anchovy’s  and  still  safe  from fishing pressure.Keywords: allometric, anchovy, condition factor, frequency distribution ABSTRAKIkan  Teri  (Stolephorus  sp.)  di  Muara  Sungsang  Sumatera  Selatan  umumnya  ditangkap menggunakan bagan tancap. Studi morfometrik berguna untuk menentukan bentuk pertumbuhan dan laju pertumbuhan spesies. Hal ini berguna untuk manajemen populasi dan sebagai informasi tentang stok atau kondisi organisme. Disamping itu, sebagai dasar dalam upaya pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan  ikan  teri  di  masa  akan  datang.  Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui  struktur ukuran dan pola pertumbuhan ikan teri hasil tangkapan bagan tancap. Data ikan teri didapatkan pada  bulan  Juli  2013  (750  sampel)  dan  September  2013  (1950  sampel).  Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan bahwa populasi ikan teri didominasi oleh distribusi frekuensi panjang 65 mm pada bulan Juli 2013 dan 75 mm pada bulan September 2013. Distribusi frekuensi berat teri pada kedua bulan tersebut sama yaitu 2 gram. Penangkapan ikan teri pada bulan September 2013 lebih layak tangkap  dibandingkan  pada  bulan  Juli  2013.  Pertumbuhan  ikan  teri  bersifat  negative  allometric. Nilai Faktor kondisi (Kn) pada bulan September 2013 lebih tinggi daripada bulan Juli 2013. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa kondisi  lingkungan Muara Sungsang cocok untuk pertumbuhan ikan teri dan masih aman dari tekanan aktivitas penangkapan.Kata kunci: allometrik, teri, faktor kondisi,distribusi frekuensi

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Multigear has been commonly used in small-scale fishery activities in Sungsang waters. The aim of using the multigear is to enable the fishermen carry out their activities at every catching season. Inaccurate and inefficient use of the multigears are the concern that will present inefficiency or even conflict among the fishermen.  Therefore the research was carried out with the objective to determine the best type of a multigear that will be used in the small scale fishery at Sungsang waters based on economic, productivity, social and biological aspects. Multiple Criteria Analysis (MCA) is the method of assessment on the quality type of the multigear.  The outcome of the research presented that the best quality type of the multigear  is 1) the multigear type with the combination of trammel net  and drift longline; 2) the multigear type with the combination of drift gillnet (mesh, 3 inches) and drift long line; 3) the multigear type with the combination of drift gillnet (mesh, 2 inches) and trammel nets.  Key Words: MA analysis, small-scale fishery, the best quality multigear,ABSTRAKMultigear telah banyak digunakan pada usaha perikanan tangkap skala kecil di Perairan Sungsang. Tujuan penggunaan multigear adalah dikarenakan agar nelayan dapat terus melakukan aktivitas penangkapan dalam setiap setiap musim penangkapan.  Penggunaan multigear yang tidak tepat dan bijak, dikhawatirnya malah akan menimbulkan inefisiensi atau bahkan menimbulkan konflik antar nelayan. Oleh kerana itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menentukan jenis multigear unggulan pada usaha perikanan tangkap skala kecil di Perairan Sungsang berdasarkan aspek ekonomi, aspek produktivitas, aspek sosial, dan aspek biologi. Penilaian keunggulan jenis multigear menggunakan metoda Multiple Criteria Analysis (MCA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis multigear unggulan adalah: 1) jenis multigear dangan kombinasi jaring udang dan rawai hanyut;  2)  jenis multigear dangan kombinasi jaring insang hanyut (mesh, 3 inci) dengan rawai hanyut (umpan), dan 3) jenis multigear dengan kombinasi jaring insang hanyut (mesh, 2 inci) dan jaring udang. Kata kunci:  MCA analysis, perikanan skala kecil, multigear unggulan

Abstract

Pada survei hidroakustik kesalahan identifikasi kelompok spesies akan mempengaruhi akurasi perkiraan distribusi dan biomassa ikan. Tujuan pengembangan perangkat lunak ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi atau mendeteksi kawanan ikan pelagis di suatu perairan dengan menggunakan deskriptor akustik. Pendekatan program ADA-2004 (Acoustic Descriptor Analyzer) adalah untuk membantu menganalisis berbagai tampilan kawanan ikan pelagis dengan menggunakan teknik pengolahan citra dan mengembangkan algoritma yang dapatmembedakan antar kelompok spesies. Sistem ini menggunakan Window XP atau versi lainnya sebagai dasar untuk mengaplikasi bahasa program Matlab version 6.3. Perangkat lunak ini telah diuji coba untuk pendeteksian kawanan ikan lemuru (Sardinella lemuru Bleeker, 1853) di perairan Selat Bali dan menunjukkan hasil yang memuaskan.Kata kunci: Perangkat lunak, identifikasi, kawanan ikan pelagis, deskriptor akustik.

Abstract

Anchovies (Stolephorus sp.) were the target species of stationary lift nets in Sungsang estuary of South Sumatra including others small pelagics. Fishermen of stationary lift net in Sungsang estuary operated before midnight until early morning. In order to obtain optimum catches, it was necessary to know when the right time to operate the stationary lift nets. The research objectives were 1) to analyze the effect of hauling time on the catch, and 2) to determine the optimum hauling time of stationary lift net in Sungsang estuary. The research was conducted in May 2012 with Experimental Fishing methods and completely random design models with treatment differences in hauling time was before midnight (21:00 to 23:59), around midnight (00:00 to 02:59), and after midnight (03:00 to 5:59). The fourth stationary lift net was operated for 3 days (3 trips). All data were processed using SPSS 17 software for windows. The results indicated that the hauling time significantly affected the catch and the optimum hauling time of stationary lift net in Sungsang estuary was around midnight (00:00 to 02:59).

Afriyani et al, 2017. Vegetation Diversity of Mangrove Forest in Payung island Sungsang Village Banyuasin District. JLSO 6(2):113-119.The mangrove forest is a natural biological resources with various diversity potential that provides benefits directly or indirectly for the life of living beings. Payung island, Sungsang Village, Banyuasin District is one of the areas in South Sumatra Province where the forest mangrove still well preserved. The research abaout mangrove diversity has been conducted in Payung Island in  November 2017, The aim of this research was to know the composition and species diversity of mangrove in the island. The collection of primary data in this research was included measurements of the distribution of mangrove vegetation. Important Value index (IVI) is a diversity index and parameter analysis of mangrove vegetation. There are 4 species of mangrove was founded in 3 transect observations, namely Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Bruguera apicullata gymnorhiza and Rhizophora. Bruguera vegetation dominate gymnorhiza tree level, while at the level of the child dominated two types of mangrove vegetation i.e. vegetation Avicennia marina and Rhizophora apicullata vegetation. The condition of mangrove forest  showed that community in Payung Island are stable that It contains mangrove forest condition criteria Broken-with the value of the density of Mangrove (ind/ha) < 1000.

Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands. 8(2):213-219. The Musi river estuary plays an important role as one of the fishing grounds. The high activity in the musi estuary has an impact on the ecosystems in this region, including the negative impact in the form of ecosystem changes caused by heavy metals. The aim of this study was to determine the concentrations of heavy metals (Pb and Cu) in Alepesvariand Johniusbelangerii in the Musi river estuary. Fish were obtained from fishermen who used the Gillnet Millennium (Ply) gear in July 2018 and were analyzed using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results showed that the concentration of  Pb  in J. belangerii was greater than A. vari, but the concentration of Cu  in  A. vari  was greater than in  J. belangerii. Concentration of  Pb has exceeded the limit for safe consumption based on National Agency of Drug and Food Control.

Biodiversity of fishes in musi estuary, South Sumatra, Indonesia.  Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal : Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(2): 192-198.The high activity in the Musi estuary will have an impact on fishes diversity. This research aimed to analyse the biodiversity of fishes in the Musi estuary in South Sumatra. An experimental fishing method was used for data collection by fishing ground following the local fishermen habit using gillnet millennium. The abundance of fish species found were 21 species and 16 families. The main catch was Hemibagrus nemurus with a high relative abundance (RA) of 35.4% but the high availability frequency of 100% is Eleutheronema tetradactylum. The average value of the moderate diversity index (H'= 1.47), the moderate evenness index (J'= 0.48) and the low dominance index (D= 0.32). This condition shows that the community structure of the species captured by the gill net is in a fairly stable condition with the number of species that are spread fairly evenly and no species dominate each other.

Abstract

This study was conducted in the coastal area of ​​Banyuasin (CAB) which was considered to have a variety of sedimentation classes originating from fluvial and marine processes. The study aimed to observe/determine changes in the morphology of coastal areas related to sedimentation in the CAB and to make maps related to oceanographic parameters, changes in the land cover and identification of the distribution of sedimentation occurring in the CAB, and the dominant factors influencing the change. This study used imagery interpretation method and the sediment data collection used sediment traps to determine the occurrence of accretion and abrasion. The results of the study showed that there was a change in the environment based on the analysis of Landsat imagery, that have undergone changes are Ekor Tikus island (PET), Tg Api-api (TAA), and the Bungin River (SB), which are affected by the land conversion, sedimentation, and tidal currents. There has been an environmental change in the CAB, especially at the Banyuasin estuary (PET) with a high sedimentation rate. The changes also occurred in TAA and SB, with the dominant factor being the decline in mangrove forests. As a result, it is necessary to conduct a more detailed study and time series related to mangroves.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain data about far-reaching changes on the total area of mangrove at Air Telang Beach Protected Forest through the interpretation of Landsat 7 imagery data using open source software (Ilwis 2000) in years 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2012. In the first phase, mangrove identification was conducted through cropped imagery data based on the research area which is path 124 raw 62 using RGB543 composite band. Then, mangrove and non-mangrove area are separated using unsupervised classification method. The next phase, mangrove density analysis is directed by applying NDVI formula. The results showed that the total area of mangrove has decreased over a period of 12 years by 10.72 % of total mangrove area on 2000 (7,968.54 ha) with 7,147.12 on 2012. Vegetation Index analysis shows high density mangrove is dominated although it continues to decrease, followed by increasing mangrove area with medium density.Keywords: Air Telang Beach Protected Forest, imagery data, mangrove total area, density.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPesisir Banyuasin merupakan salah satu sentra perikanan tangkap di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Kawasan ini menyimpan potensi sumber daya perikanan yang harus dijaga kelestariannya. Banyak nelayan yang menggantungkan hidupnya di kawasan ini, hanya saja ragam pemanfaatan di sepanjang aliran Sungai Banyuasin seperti pemukiman, industri, pertanian dan transportasi telah mempengaruhi kualitas perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana kondisi nitrat, nitrit, amonia, fosfat dan BOD di Pesisir Banyuasin. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan September 2017 meliputi 22 stasiun penelitian, analisa sampel dilakukan di Laboratorium Balai Riset dan Standardisasi Industri (Baristand) Palembang merujuk pada SNI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi nitrat selama penelitian berkisar antara 0,025-3,21 mg/L, nitrit 0,002-0,093 mg/L, amonia 0,002-0,031 mg/L, fosfat 0,011-0,231 mg/L dan BOD 2,14-8,73 mg/L. Konsentrasi nitrat dan fosfat telah melebihi baku mutu yang ditetapkan, adapun untuk parameter nitrit, amonia dan BOD masih dibawah baku mutu. ABSTRACTCoastal of Banyuasin is one of the centers of capture fisheries in South Sumatra Province. This area had the potential of fisheries resources that must be preserved. Many fishermen are depend their lives on this area, but some activity along Banyuasin River such as settlement, industry, agriculture and transportation has affected the quality of water. This study aims to examine the conditions of nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, phosphate and BOD in the Coastal of Banyuasin. Sampling was conducted in September 2017 covering 22 research stations, sample analysis conducted at Palembang Institute for Industrial Research and Standaritation Laboratory refers to SNI. The results showed that the concentration of nitrate during the study ranged from 0.025-3.21 mg.L-1, nitrite 0.002-0.093 mg.L-1, ammonia 0.002-0.031 mg.L-1, phosphate 0.011-0.231 mg.L-1and BOD 2.14-8.73 mg.L-1. The concentration of nitrate and phosphate in Banyuasin River estuary were exceeded quality standards while nitrite, ammonia and BOD were still below specified quality standards.
