Abstract

Muara Sungai Musi dan Pulau Payung adalah kawasan bagian hilir Sungai Musi yang menerima banyak masukan limbah dan bahan pencemar akibat aktifitas di sepanjang aliran sungai. Polisiklik aromatik hidrokarbon (PAH) adalah salah satu komponen pencemar organik yang keberadaannya mengancam kehidupan biota perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan senyawa PAH pada sampel air laut dan sedimen yang berasal dari Muara Sungai Musi dan sekitar Pulau Payung. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2019. Contoh air laut diambil dengan water sampler pada 5 stasiun penelitian dan contoh sedimen diambil menggunakan ekman grab pada 8 stasiun penelitian. Kadar PAH dianalisa dengan High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), cara kerja merujuk pada APHA (2017) 6440 B divalidasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan PAH total dalam sampel air Muara Sungai Musi dan sekitar Pulau Payung berkisar antara batas minimum deteksi alat (<0,004)-0,0,62 ppb. Adapun kandungan PAH total dalam sampel sedimen berkisar antara 11,92-558,41 ppb. Secara keseluruhan terlihat bahwa kandungan PAH dalam sampel air dan sedimen yang berasal dari Sungai Musi dan sekitar Pulau Payung masih aman bagi organisme. Musi River Estuary and Payung Island are the downstream areas of the Musi River which receive a lot of inputs of waste and pollutants due to activities along the river flow. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is one component of organic pollutants which dangerous for the aquatic organism. This study aims to identify the PAHs compounds in seawater and sediment samples from the Musi River Estuary and around Payung Island. Sampling was carried out in July 2019. Seawater samples were taken with a water sampler and sediment samples were taken using ekman grab at 7 research stations. PAH levels were analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), the method refers to APHA (2017) 6440 B. The results showed that the PAH content in the Muara River Musi water samples and around Payung Island ranged from under detection limit(<0,004)-0.62 ppb. The PAH content in sediment samples ranged from 11.92-558.41 ppb. Overall PAHs content in water and sediment samples from the Musi River and around Payung Island are still good for the aquatic organism.

Abstract

A Study of physicochemical and microbiology analysis in Ogan River Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu was carried out in Mei-Juny 2016. The purpose of this study was to determine the water quality status of Ogan River by using National Sanition Foundation Water Quality Index. Water quality status was studied at six selected stations to represent different localities with varying anthropogenic discharge. Water samples were taken by purposive sampling method. Physicochemical and microbiology parameters of samples were measured pH, temperature, Turbidity, Total Suspended Solids, Dissolved Oxygent, Biochemical Oxygent Demand, Nitrat, Phospate, and Fecal Coliform following standard method. The river water quality status is medium, the value ranged 56-57. Based on these indices it is concluded that the anthropogenic activies along Ogan River effected quality of water Ogan River.

Abstract

Management of euryhaline species, such as Anguillid eel, is very important. Anguillid eel is an important economic fish which the partly of its life cycle spent in inland waters then migrates into the ocean for spawning. The objective of this study is to identify the morphological diversity and length-weight relationship of Anguillid eels in this province. The total of 148 individuals of elver and adult Anguillid eels were caught was identified using the comparison of ano-dorsal with total length parameter. Cluster analysis was obtained based on measurement of morphometric parameter. The current work used cluster analysis and dendrogram to group the population characteristic of Anguilla eel. It revealed that in the Jenggalu, Kungkai and Manna rivers of Bengkulu province, there are two groups of Anguilla eel with significant difference of ano-dorsal length. The value of the ano-dorsal varied from 2.56 ± 1.54 and 17.78 ± 1.33 for A.bicolor bicolor and A.marmorata, respectively. The length-weight relationships between total length (TL) and weight (W) for Anguilla bicolor and A.marmorata were found to be highly significant (r2 > 0.94, p < 0.001). The average value of 'b' for length and weight were higher than 3, i.e., 3.2677 and 3.4821 in A.bicolor and A.marmorata respectively which indicated a positive allometric growth trend of this species in the studied area.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain data about far-reaching changes on the total area of mangrove at Air Telang Beach Protected Forest through the interpretation of Landsat 7 imagery data using open source software (Ilwis 2000) in years 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2012. In the first phase, mangrove identification was conducted through cropped imagery data based on the research area which is path 124 raw 62 using RGB543 composite band. Then, mangrove and non-mangrove area are separated using unsupervised classification method. The next phase, mangrove density analysis is directed by applying NDVI formula. The results showed that the total area of mangrove has decreased over a period of 12 years by 10.72 % of total mangrove area on 2000 (7,968.54 ha) with 7,147.12 on 2012. Vegetation Index analysis shows high density mangrove is dominated although it continues to decrease, followed by increasing mangrove area with medium density.Keywords: Air Telang Beach Protected Forest, imagery data, mangrove total area, density.

Abstract

Estuari Sungai Musi merupakan perairan semi tertutup yang dipengaruhi oleh dinamika pasang surut sehingga hanya beberapa biota khas yang mampu bertahan hidup di kawasan ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami tingkat biodiversitas kelompok gastropoda dan krustasea yang hidup pada zona intertidal estuari Sungai Musi. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada Bulan November 2021 di 5 titik stasiun pengamatan dengan metode transek kuadrat. Pengukuran kualitas perairan dilakukan meliputi suhu, pH, oksigen terlarut, dan salinitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi individu total krustasea (52%) dan gastropoda (48%). Kelimpahan total tertinggi hingga terendah secara berurutan ditemukan pada stasiun 4, 5, 2, 1, dan 3. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman berkategori sedang dengan nilai 1.30 – 1.76 nilai indeks keseragaman berkisar 0.48 – 0.65, nilai indeks dominansi 0.19 – 0.30. Berdasarkan hasil PCA menunjukkan bahwa F1 terdiri dari stasiun S1, S2, S4, dan S5 dengan variabel utama suhu, salinitas, DO, pH, keanekaragaman, keseragaman, dan dominansi sedangkan F2 terdiri dari stasiun S3 dengan kelimpahan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, zona intertidal menjadi habitat yang baik untuk kedua kelompok namun lokasi habitatnya cukup berpengaruh terhadap sebarannya secara spasial.

Abstract

There is limited study on DNA barcoding of horseshoe crabs in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The present study was the first to record horseshoe crabs' COI DNA barcoding in three localities of Banyasin estuarine waters. The nucleotide composition was in a strong adenine thymine bias (AT = 63.90%) with high haplotypic diversity (Hd = 0.858) relative to low nucleotide diversity (π = 0.0534). A total of 16 haplotypes were recorded, of which two were in Carat Cape, 4 in Makati Jaya, and 12 in the Banyuasin river estuary (BRE), and Hap 1 was a dominant type (62.5%). The population differentiation (FST) value was varied, and only in the comparison of BRE-Carat Cape was significant (FST = 0.637), while the gene flow (Nm) value in Makati Jaya-BRE was high (6.563). The neutrality test, Tajima's D (0.4142), and Fu's Fs values were negative (-0.492), suggesting these populations have experienced a current bottleneck or multiplication. Analysis of molecular variation (AMOVA) suggested that 68% was distributed within populations. The haplotype network, PCoA, and phylogenetic of COI DNA sequences clustered in three groups correspond to Carcinoscorpius rotundicauda, Tachypleus gigas, and Tachypleus tridentatus. This finding is a matter of concern for managing and conserving horseshoe crab species in Banyuasin estuarine waters.

Abstract

Pesisir Banyuasin merupakan salah satu kawasan yang memiliki potensi perikanan yang besar di ProvinsiSumatera Selatan. Hanya saja padatnya aktivitas lalu lintas kapal dan pertanian dapat menyebabkan perairan tercemar oleh logam berat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi logam Pb dan Cu pada rajungan yang tertangkap di Pesisir Banyuasin serta membandingkannya dengan baku mutu yang berlaku. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Pesisir Banyuasin menggunakan metode fishing survey. Sampel dianalisis dengan AAS sesuai SNI 2354.5:2011 untuk logam Pb dan SNI 2354.13:2014 untuk logam Cu. Hasil penelitian menunjukan konsentrasi logam Pb dan Cu di dalam daging rajungan berturut-turut sebesar 0,62–2,48 mg/kg Pb dan 2,5-11,6 mg/kg Cu. Berdasarkan baku mutu yang ditetapkan BPOM No.5 tahun 2018 dan SNI 7387:2009, konsentrasi logam Pb sudah melewati ambang batas, namun berdasarkan ketentuan FAO (1983) hanya pada stasiun 4 yang melebihi baku mutu. Konsentrasi logam Cu dalam daging rajungan masih dibawah baku mutu kecuali pada stasiun 5 yang melewati baku mutu FAO (1983).Kata Kunci : Cu, logam berat, Pb, Pesisir Banyuasin, rajungan

Abstract

Lingkungan pantai merupakan lingkungan yang sangat dinamis. Perubahan garis pantai merupakan salah satu bentuk dinamisasi lingkungan pantai. Perubahan garis pantai merupakan suatu proses terus-menerus melalui berbagai proses alami di pantai yang meliputi pergerakan sedimen, arus menyusur pantai (longshore current), aksi gelombang permukaan laut dan penggunaan lahan.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa perubahan garis pantai dengan menggunakan citra Landsat 4-5 dan Sentinel-2 di pesisir Banyuasin pada tahun 2005-2010-2015-2021 saat surut terendah dan saat pasang sebagai pembanding. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah interpretasi citra satelit Landsat 4-5 tahun 2005-2010 dan Sentinel-2A tahun 2015-2021 menggunakan tumpang susun (overlay) untuk melihat perubahan garis pantai dan DSAS (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) untuk menghitung luas perubahan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan di pesisir Kabupaten Banyuasin Sumatera Selatan selama kurun waktu 15 tahun (2005-2021) telah terjadi perubahan garis pantai 34,44 ha untuk proses akresi seluas 63,98 ha dan proses abrasi -29,54 ha dengan panjang garis pantai sepanjang 108,84 km. Kata kunci : Garis Pantai, Mangrove, DSAS, Banyuasin

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan transfer pengetahuan tentang produk tepung udang berbasis sumber daya lokal sebagai alternatif penyedap rasa. Sasarannya adalah ibu-ibu usia produktif dengan anak usia prasekolah di Desa Sungsang IV. Metode sosialisasi, praktik langsung, pre-test, post-test, dan tes organoleptik diterapkan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta masih menggunakan perasa sintetis (86%) dan belum mengetahui produk alternatif pengganti perasa sintetis (80%). Semua peserta tertarik untuk mencoba dan menggunakan produk tepung udang ini. Hasil uji organoleptik menunjukkan bahwa ibu-ibu menyukai produk tepung udang ini (51% sangat menyukai dan 49% menyukai) sebagai alternatif penyedap rasa.

Abstract

Banyuasin waters consist of several areas such as shipping areas and conservation areas. The topography of the seabed in these waters can change due to silting due to sedimentation processes. This study aims to map the topography of the seabed and types of sediment in Banyuasin waters. This research was carried out from October 2020 to February 2021 in Banyuasin waters, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. One of the methods used to detect underwater objects is the hydroacoustic method which utilizes sound waves using a single beam echosounder Simrad EK-15. The research results show that the lowest depth (0.6 meters) is located in the waters of Tanjung Carat, while the highest depth is located in the area approaching the Banyuasin territorial sea border (33 meters). The average depth of Banyuasin waters is 9 meters. Apart from that, three types of sediment were also obtained, namely clay, sandy clay and clayey sand. The dominant type of sediment is clay. Tidal measurements for the average sea level height (MSL) are 1.3 meters and the value of the tide front distance (Z0) is 1.16 meters. This study provides the latest information on the distribution of sediment types and bathymetry for shipping activities and conservation areas in the study area.
