Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Kota Bandung due to the low level of students’ critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning. Based on the End-of-Semester Summative Assessment, only 61.11% of fifth-grade students met the Learning Objectives Mastery Criteria (KKTP), while 38.89% had not yet reached the standard. This indicates the need for a more effective learning strategy. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model in improving students’ critical thinking skills. The research focused on students’ initial abilities, model implementation, changes in learning outcomes, and comparisons between the experimental and control classes. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The experimental class was taught using the CIRC model, while the control class used Direct Instruction. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The pretest results showed similar initial abilities, with average scores of 31 in the experimental class and 33 in the control class. The Mann-Whitney test showed a significance value of 0.583, indicating no significant difference. After the intervention, the experimental class’s posttest average increased to 86, while the control class reached 59. The independent sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.0001, proving a significant difference. The experimental class achieved an N-Gain of 0.81 (high category), higher than the control class’s 0.40 (moderate category). These findings confirm that the CIRC model effectively improves students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at MI Matla'ul Atfal in Pancasila Education subject. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in improvement of students' critical thinking skills between the experimental class applying Guided Note Taking strategy and the control class applying Cooperative Learning strategy. The research method used wae quasi-experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population was all fourth-grade students at MI Matla'ul Atfal with samples of class IV A (15 students) as experimental class and class IV B (14 students) as control class using purposive sampling technique. Research instruments were pretest-posttest essay tests and learning activity observation sheets. Data analysis used Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, independent t-test, and Mann Whitney test. eesults showed the average pretest score of experimental class was 68.17 and control class 55.14, while the average posttest score of experimental class was 77.17 and control class 52.50. Mann Whitney test results showed sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, thus H₀ was rejected. The N-Gain value of experimental class was 0.29 (low category) higher than control class -0.07 (decrease occurred). In conclusion, the implementation of Guided Note Taking strategy can improve the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students in Pancasila Education subject at MI Matla'ul Atfal.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of research discussing the Sirah Nabawiyah integrated with subjects, especially at the elementary school level. The purpose of this study was to determine the planning, learning process, assessment, and supporting and inhibiting factors of Sirah Nabawiyah-based learning in character building at SD Islam Cendekia Muda. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects consist of the principal, fifth-grade teachers, students, and parents. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that: (1) The learning plan has unique characteristics because it integrates the Merdeka Curriculum with the God-Centered Education (GCE) approach and includes character indicators from the phases of the Prophet's life that are integrated into all subjects; (2) The implementation of Sirah Nabawiyah-based learning in schools reflects the integration of contextual approaches, character education, and Islamic spirituality, which are carried out comprehensively by teachers and students and fully supported by the school environment and parents; (3) Assessment is carried out holistically through observation of students' attitudes, participation, and behavior; (4) Supporting factors include teacher commitment, support for the God Centered Education curriculum, and parental involvement, while inhibiting factors include time constraints and differences in student abilities; (5) Sirah Nabawiyah-based learning can be said to have succeeded in shaping students' character towards noble morals, although the full effectiveness of this learning still needs to be improved through deepening of Sirah material, increasing teacher competence, and continuity of cooperation between the school and families.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of creative thinking skills among students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). Of the 30 students, only 3 had achieved KKTP, while the other 27 had not. The factor influencing the low level of creative thinking skills among students was that the learning media used did not fully provide space for creating new ideas. One learning medium that can improve creative thinking skills is the smart box learning medium. This study aims to determine students' creative thinking skills before and after using the smart box medium and how the smart box medium is applied in Natural and Social Sciences in grade IV at SDN Kencana Indah I. The approach used in this study is quantitative and qualitative. The method used in this study was the classroom action research method. This study was conducted in four cycles, and the subjects in this study were 30 fourth-grade students at SDN Kencana Indah I. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results showed that in the pre-cycle stage, classical mastery was only 23% with an average score of 60. Teacher activity increased from 64% in cycle I to 100% in cycle IV, while student activity increased from 63% to 96%. Classical mastery also increased, namely cycle I 17% (average 64), cycle II 60% (76), cycle III 83% (77), and cycle IV 90% (80). Overall, classical mastery reached 67% with an average score of 76. Based on these results, the smart box media proved to be effective in improving students' creative thinking skills in IPAS learning.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Akidah Akhlak di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukan karakter dan nilai keimanan siswa. Namun, praktik pembelajaran yang masih bersifat monoton menyebabkan rendahnya motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Kondisi tersebut ditemukan pada siswa kelas V MIS Persis No.8 Pameutingan dengan ketuntasan belajar yang belum optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 19 siswa kelas V. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes hasil belajar, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa serta dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menghitung nilai rata-rata dan persentase ketuntasan belajar, serta analisis kualitatif terhadap proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan pada setiap siklus. Ketuntasan klasikal meningkat dari 31,57% pada pra-siklus menjadi 52,63% pada Siklus I, 63,15% pada Siklus II, dan mencapai 89,47% pada Siklus III dengan rata-rata nilai 80,26. Aktivitas siswa dan guru juga berada pada kategori sangat baik. Penerapan metode edutainment melalui permainan edukatif, diskusi interaktif, dan team game tournament terbukti mampu meningkatkan motivasi, keterlibatan, serta pemahaman siswa. Metode edutainment efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar Akidah Akhlak siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

Limitations in innovative learning media can affect the learning process, resulting in low learning motivation and conceptual understanding. Therefore, this study aims to develop interactive learning media based on Canva and Genially for fifth-grade elementary school students in Natural andSocial Sciences (IPAS), specifically for material on the structure of the earth and atmospheric layers. The focus of this study is to create more interesting and effective learning media as a solution to the lackof interactivity in the learning process. This study uses a research and development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation,and Evaluation. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, literature reviews, and questionnaires. The initial design of the innovative learning media was based on the Multimedia Learning theory proposed by Richard E. Mayer, using the Canva and Genially applications. The media created was validated by experts, which showed that the validation results were in theacceptable category, with media validity test results of 88%, material validity of 92,5%, learning expert validity of 82,5%. The results of the student response questionnaire on a limited scale were 87,5%, indicating a high level of practicality and interest. This shows that interactive learning media is feasible to use but with some revisions and further large-scale trials.
