Abstract

Penelitian ini menggali fenomena reproduksi kekuasaan melalui kekerasan simbolik dalam sistem pendidikan, dengan fokus pada perspektif teori sosial Pierre Bourdieu. Melalui pendekatan sosiologisnya, Bourdieu menyoroti bagaimana kekuasaan dipertahankan dan diteruskan melalui praktik-praktik simbolik dalam dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana pertarungan simbolik antara kelompok yang memegang kapital budaya yang dominan dengan kelompok yang memiliki kapital budaya yang lebih rendah dalam menciptakan ketidaksetaraan dalam kesempatan pendidikan. Pergulatan simbolik ini dapat terlihat dalam berbagai aspek, termasuk kurikulum, penilaian, dan norma-norma sosial di lingkungan pendidikan. Melalui pemahaman Bourdieu tentang konsep habitus, kapital budaya, dan lapangan sosial, penelitian ini merinci bagaimana reproduksi kekuasaan terjadi secara tersembunyi melalui mekanisme simbolik, seperti bahasa, gaya berpakaian, dan nilainilai budaya tertentu yang diterapkan dalam konteks pendidikan. Temuan penelitian ini dapatmemberikan wawasan yang mendalam tentang ketidaksetaraan sistemik dalam pendidikan dan menyoroti pentingnya memahami dan mengatasi kekerasan simbolik sebagai langkah awal menuju transformasi sosial yang lebih adil di bidang pendidikan.

Abstract

This research aims to examine and develop the values of religious moderation in a plural society through a philosophy of religion approach. Religious moderation is a very important attitude in maintaining harmony and social stability in a diverse society. This is because when religion is only interpreted as a doctrine, it will lead to excessive religious fanaticism. Therefore, believing in religious teachings must be understood with rationality, so that the principles that exist in every religious teaching can provide peace and harmony between human beings. This research uses a qualitative method with a philosophical descriptive approach. The results of this study show that religion actually provides guidance for people in thinking, acting or speaking well, by prioritising ethics and morals and humanitarian principles. However, if religious teachings are understood only as doctrine, it will be vulnerable to religious fanaticism, therefore religion should be understood rationally. Therefore, religious moderation by promoting the values of tolerance, harmony, and peace should be based on rational, critical principles in understanding religious teachings, so it is important to understand the philosophy of religion as a foundation in building religious moderation values.

Abstract

Inclusive education is being promoted to ensure equal education for all students, regardless of background or special needs. Human philosophy emphasises respect for each person's dignity and potential. Nevertheless, the execution of the notion of inclusive education frequently encounters intricate obstacles. This study examines how human philosophy values and principles might promote equality in inclusive schools. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach, primarily emphasising literature analysis and case studies. The literature analysis will examine inclusive education-related human philosophy principles and theories, while the case studies will examine how inclusive schools use these concepts. This research integrates theoretical and empirical data to better understand the relationship between human philosophy and inclusive education and promote more inclusive and humane educational practices. Inclusive education is an education that supports equality. Because basically, all humans need education as an effort to develop their talents and interests.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of directive speech acts found in the Dandavagga Chapter of the Tripitaka Dhammapada Holy Book. This research data was taken from various sources of speech act literature studies and the Tripitaka holy book, namely the Dhammapada Chapter of Dandavagga which contains 13 holy verses. The methodology used uses a qualitative approach. The results of the research found based on in-depth discussion and analysis illustrate the pattern of trends in the type of directive speech, namely advice is found most often at 7, warning at 4, command at 1, invitation at 0, and prohibition at 1. The directive speech act of advice is the most dominant speech act. In the Dandavagga poetry, it is perpendicular to the stated aim, namely providing advice to mankind, emphasizing how important it is to avoid evil acts, avoid inappropriate actions that can lead to punishment, and achieve the essence of life, namely happiness.

Abstract

Education, as the main pillar in the development of individuals and society, should be a means to develop the full potential of human beings and inspire holistic growth. However, various forms that lead to dehumanisation have occurred in the system of education, especially formal education in schools. This research aims to explore Ivan Illich’s views on liberating society from the shackles of schooling. Ivan Illich, a critical thinker in the field of education, proposed the concept of a deschooling society as an alternative to the conventional formal education system. Through his critical approach, Illich identified the negative impacts caused by formal education institutions, including the limitation of individual potential, monopoly of knowledge, and inequality of access to education. This research uses a qualitative method with a philosophical hermeneutic approach. The results of this study show that Illich emphasises the need to free education from conventional boundaries, encouraging social inclusion, independence, and creativity in learning. Moreover, his concept of a deschooling society offers a more inclusive and democratic alternative, allowing individuals to learn according to learner’s interests and needs. In addition, Illich formulated alternative education by providing a learning webs system as an education system that is less tied to formal education in schools.

Abstract

Proposisi selalu menjadi perhatian penting dalam ilmu filsafat. Salah satu pembahasan yang sangat menarik tentang proposisi terdapat dalam metafisika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyuguhkan informasi penting mengenai diskursus kaum realis dan nominalis dalam filsafat, khususnya yang erat kaitannya dengan proposisi yang melibatkan fakta dalam pembahasannya. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan hermeneutik filosofis. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa filsuf yang beraliran realis sering menyangkal bahwa sifat, jenis, dan relasi menghabiskan entitas abstrak yang menjadi komitmen. Para filsuf mengklaim bahwa ada juga proposisi sebagai entitas abstrak yang tidak bergantung pada bahasa dan tidak bergantung pada pikiran yang berfungsi sebagai objek dari tindakan pernyataan/penyangkalan dan tindakan berpikir. Filsuf juga merupakan referensi dari klausa-klausa dan sekaligus menjadi pembawa utama dari nilai-nilai kebenaran. Para filsuf yang skeptis terhadap gagasan proposisi ingin menyatakan bahwa dapat mengakomodasi semua fenomena yang menarik bagi kaum realis tanpa memperkenalkan proposisi ke dalam ontologi.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with multiple ethnicities, religions, languages, and others that make Indonesia a unique country, rich in diversity. However, on the other hand, if the diversity is not able to be managed properly, it will become a source of conflict and division, especially when it comes to religion which should be a source and a way to achieve peace, but it will become dangerous when looking at religious differences without applying the values of brotherhood, humanity and others. This research aims to reveal the implementation of religious moderation based on socio-cultural values in Selorejo Village, Ngunut District, Tulungagung Regency. The method used in this research is qualitative method with descriptive approach. The results of the research related to the implementation of religious moderation based on socio-cultural values in Selorejo Village, Ngunut District, Tulungagung Regency are that the Selorejo Village community has carried out many implementations of religious moderation, starting from carrying out religious events with socio-cultural principles, namely mutual cooperation and enjoying the happiness of every holiday of a particular religion. In addition, the values of brotherhood, tolerance, and also humanity are highly upheld for the sake of creating harmonious conditions, and maintaining unity as a national commitment.

Abstract

Education is the main sector in human resource development. So that education becomes an important part of human life. Through education humans can also find identity, hone potential, and improve the quality of life. This is inseparable from human desires that are free and independent in determining what kind of education they need. However, this seems to be a paradox by looking at the educational phenomenon which actually hinders the potential possessed by students with various dehumanization practices. Therefore, this study traces the thoughts of Paulo Freire with the idea of ​​critical education. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a philosophical hermeneutic approach. The results of this study indicate that Paulo Freire is a critical education figure, who succeeded in dismantling the conventional educational model which tends to dehumanize. Conventional education actually views students as passive objects, each empty and must be regulated. Freire calls it the banking of education system. Notes from Freire's thoughts can be used as a reference in developing a humanist education system in Indonesia, namely by prioritizing students as the center of learning and recognizing students have diverse characters and potential. A teacher in humanist education acts as a facilitator by guiding students to be themselves.

Abstract

Ki Hadjar Dewantara is a central figure in education in Indonesia. His various thoughts were able to provide awareness to society during the Dutch colonial era, which did focus on education that was more oriented toward work skills. Ki Hadjar Dewantara through his great determination to establish an educational institution named "Taman Siswa" to restore the essence of education which gives the principle of independence. Education is also intended to help the growth and development of students so that students are active and able to realize all the competencies that exist in each individual student. This research seeks to find Ki Hadjar Dewantara's views regarding the concept of education and to see the position of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thoughts regarding education in the structure of the philosophy of education. This study uses a qualitative method with a philosophical hermeneutic approach. The results of this study indicate that Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thoughts regarding the concept of education are more oriented toward the educational philosophy of essentialism, existentialism, progressivism, and perennials. So that in this context the idea of ​​Ki Hadjar Dewantara does not only rely on one school of educational philosophy, but is eclectic in nature, which means it combines several schools of educational philosophy which do not contradict one another but use positive principles from each school of philosophy. education and pay attention to the culture of Indonesian society.

Abstract

Hedonism is a view that prioritizes the pursuit of happiness and pleasure as the main goal in life. While this concept is appealing to some, it is not without its critics. Hedonism is often criticized as leading to a less meaningful life. If the only goal is to seek pleasure and avoid suffering, then it can neglect the deeper and more meaningful aspects of life, such as devotion to others, and the development of ethics and morality. One criticism of the hedonistic lifestyle comes from the thoughts of Arthur Schopenhauer. Therefore, with a qualitative method and a philosophical hermeneutic approach, the results of this study show that Arthur Schopenhauer views life as a series of sufferings, humans suffer because of their will. The effort in finding happiness in Schopenhauer's view is to control the will. Happiness cannot be measured in terms of physical pleasures such as food, drink, or entertainment and luxury goods. However, true happiness arises from asceticism and the denial of the will. The hedonistic lifestyle for Schopenhauer is a futile behavior, because it actually brings humans to the brink of suffering.
