Abstract

Ecology is one of the subjects that must be taken by undergrduate students. Lecture activities can certainly be hampered if there are no supporting textbooks. The purpose of this research is to provide textbooks that are in accordance with the demands of the curriculum by considering aspects of student needs, according to the characteristics and environment of students, helping students obtain alternative textbooks, and making it easier for educators in the learning process. This research method is Research & Development (R&D). In this study using the ADDIE’s development research model, it’s an appoarch that emphasizes an analysis of how each component interacts with each other by coordinating accordingly to the existing phases. Data collection techniques was using validation questionnaires for experts, individual test and small-scale trials. Data analysis results show that from material experts was 89.0% with the assessment criteria is very feasible, while the validation results by linguists was 71.4% with the assessment criteria is feasible. Readability tests shown percentage of 85.6% with the assessment criteria is very feasible. The product has an advantages and disadvantages which still needed to be revised.

Abstract

Abstract

Weeds that grow around irrigated rice fields can affect the growth of rice plants. This study aims to determine the diversity of weeds in the rice fields of Mulyorejo Village, Malang City, Indonesia. The research was conducted from October - November 2022. The research used a survey with direct descriptive and exploratory methods. The study used a survey method with descriptive and direct exploration methods on an area of 677 m2 at an altitude of 478 m above sea level. Observations were made on weed species, dominance, and diversity index. The results showed that 13 species of weeds were found in the irrigated rice fields of Mulyorejo Village, Malang City, which was dominated by water clover (Marsilea crenata) (20.42%), which is classified as a broadleaf weed. The dominant weed was taro (Alocasia macrorrhizos) (SDR = 5.33). The minor weed is water lactic (Ludwigia decurrens). The rice field weed diversity index is 1.989, classified as moderate. Knowing the types of weed diversity in rice fields in Mulyorejo, it is hoped that it can facilitate the optimal handling process.

Abstract

Background: Asteraceae grows a lot in the tourist area of Lake Ranu Gumbolo Tulungagung and is not given much attention because it is only considered a wild plant. Hence, the utilization and management of these plants could be more optimal. This research aimed to identify the species diversity of the Asteraceae tribe on the shores of Lake Ranu Gumbolo, Tulungagung. Methods: The method used was to explore every corner of the observation location and calculate its diversity index. Results:  A total of 8 species of the Asteraceae tribe have been identified on Lake Ranu Gumbolo, including Blumea balsamifera, Sphagneticola trilobata, Grangea maderaspatana, Ageratina Riparia, Ageratum conyzoides, Emilia sonchifolia, Tridax procumbens, and Eupatorium odoratum. The calculation of the diversity index showed that the species of the Asteraceae tribe at the observation site had a high diversity of 1.9. Conclusions: The results of this study can provide new knowledge about the plant diversity of the Asteraceae tribe, which readers or researchers can use as a source or reference. The results of this observation can be a different added value for Lake Ranu Gumbolo Tulungagung tourism and become an attraction for tourists.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the implementation of two learning models, discovery learning and Reading to Learn on scientific literacy skills and student learning outcomes on the excretory system material. This research was conducted in a Junior High School in the city of Malang involving 29 students of 8th grade. This study used pre-experimental research design (one group pretest-posttest design). Data were collected through pretest, posttest, and worksheet questions. Data were analyzed using non-parametric statistical tests (Wilcoxon test), n-gain and d-effect size. The findings revealed that there was an increase in scientific literacy skills and student learning outcomes as indicated by the n gain of 0.58 (upper medium) and 0.77 (high). The use of discovery learning and Reading to Learn models has been shown to have a strong positive/effective impact on improving students' learning outcomes and scientific literacy skills, as shown by the d effect size values of 2.13 and 3.28, which fall into the large effect category

Abstract

This research was conducted in Malang City Monument Square, East Java. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of angiosperm plants in Malang City Monument Square. This research was conducted using a quantitative method because it requires observation to obtain the desired data such as the types and characteristics of the angiosperm plants. In this study, sampling and identification of the morphology of the angiosperms were carried out by means of a descriptive analysis of the roots, stems and leaves. The analysis was carried out based on literature studies from various sources. Based on the results of these observations, 19 species of plants were found in Malang City Monument Square including Seroja, Nusa Indah Flowers, and Ganyong

Abstract

Moss plants (Bryophyta) are living things that include multi-celled green plants. Growing mosses (Bryophyta) are known to have a simple arrangement of organs. This study examines the biodiversity of moss plants which aims to determine the biodiversity of moss plants found around Rojo Camp Gardens, Dau District, Malang Regency. This study uses the observation method to collect data by direct observation. This method is used as an observation of the object of research, especially on the focus of the problem under study. The data obtained was in the form of the number of species and body morphological characteristics of the moss plant species. The results of the study found that 7 types of moss plants were found with different body morphologies. The special characteristics of moss plants are that they have rhizoids and leaves, but do not yet have true roots, stems and leaves. Moss plants have a role in ecosystems, including as water absorbers (the nature of their cells resembles sponges), to retain moisture, produce oxygen through a fast photosynthetic process and as pollutant absorbers so that these moss plants can be found around Rojo Camp Gardens, Dau District, Malang Regency.

Abstract

Poaceae is an organism that can live and develop, generally found in tropical areas or areas with air temperature with sufficient rainfall to form grasslands. Poaceae have an important role as a barrier to erosion at the foot of the cliff. This study aims to determine the diversity of plants in the Poaceae family. The research was conducted by descriptive observation with observation techniques. The specimen collection method was roaming which was carried out in the Teletubbies Hill area, Bumiaji Village, Batu City, East Java. In collecting specimens, abiotic data were also collected as environmental parameters in the form of rainfall, number of rainy months, average daily temperature, and height above sea level to support the identification process. Based on the observation results, 6 species of the Poaceae family were found. The species found were Sporobolus indicus, Imperata cylindrical, Digitaria ciliaris, Lepetochloa, Bothriochloa ischaemum and Eragrostis unioloides.
