Abstract

Diabetes is a disease characterized by increased levels of glucose in the blood that occur due to a lack of insulin production or the cessation of insulin production in the body. Sidaguri herb (Sida Rhombifolia) is known to have antidiabetic activity. This study was conducted to evaluate the antidiabetic activity of the ethanolic extract of the leaves and stems of sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia) in animal of type 2 diabetes model and to find out which part is the most effective as antidiabetic. This research method is an in vivo experimental study. Mice were divided into 9 groups, that is negative control group, positive control group, Glibenclamide 0.65 mg/KgBW, sidaguri leaf extract at a dose of 3.5; 7; and 14 mg/KgBW, as well as sidaguri stem extract at a dose of 3.5; 7; and 14 mg/KgBW. The test was carried out curatively, the test animals except negative controls were given induction of alloxan monohydrate 80 mg/KgBW via the intravenous route, then after 3 days post-induction, fasting blood glucose levels were checked. The treatment was continued by giving therapy for 14 days via the oral route. The test parameters in this study were the measurement of blood glucose levels on days 0, 7, and 14, and pancreatic histopathology was also performed. The test results show that was found that the extract that gave the best antidiabetic effect was the ethanolic extract of sidaguri leaves at a dose of 14 mg/KgBW but had not been able to fully improve the condition of the pancreatic cells

Abstract

AbstractBackground: Kerehau is empirically used as cooling powder to treat acne. Based on previous research, kerehau leaves have a number of activities, including wound healing, antidiabetic, and anti-inflammatory.Objectives: This study aimed to determine the safety level of a single dose of ethanol extract of kerehau leaves within a 24-hour administration period.Methods: Acute toxicity testing of ethanol extract of kerehau leaves was carried out on female Webster mice. Test animals were divided into 4 treatment groups, consisting of 1 control group and 3 test groups. The testing method referred to OECD (Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development) 420 with modified doses of 2000mg/kgBW, 5000 mg/kgBW, and 8000 mg/kgBW. The observations were made on the behaviour of animals towards toxicity symptoms for 4 hours after administration of the test substance as well as death. The death and weight gain were observed for 14 days. On the 15th day, animals were sacrificed, blood was taken, and biochemical parameters were measured. The heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, and lungs were harvested and weighed. Data was analysed using Oneway ANOVA continued with LSD and Post Hoc.Results: The results showed that ethanol extract of kerehau leaves did not cause death in all of the groups. There were significant differences in liver weight, SGPT, and SGOT levels (p< 0.05) at the dose of 5000 mg/kgBW. No toxicity symptoms and death were found until the end of the experiment.Conclusion: LD50 value of ethanol extract of kerehau leaves was above 8000 mg/kgBW with heart as the most affected organ.Keywords: Ethanol extract of kerehau leaves, acute toxicity test, OECD 420.Latar Belakang : Beragam  khasiat yang dimiliki daun kerehau menjadi dasar dilakukannya uji toksisitas akut untuk mengetahui adanya potensi toksik dan organ sasaran yang dipengaruhi.Metode : Metode pengujian toksisitas akut diadaptasi dari OECD 420 dengan dosis 2000 mg/kgbb, 5000 mg/kgbb dan 8000mg/kgbb. Pengamatan dilakukan  terhadap gejala toksik yang muncul, kematian dan berat badan. Pada hari ke-15 dilakukan pengukuran SGPT, SGOT , kreatinin dalam darah, indeks organ jantung, ginjal, hati, limpa dan paru-paru serta histopatologi organ hati dan ginjal.Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol daun kerehau mempengaruhi organ hati secara bermakna namun tidak menyebabkan kematian hingga dosis 8000mg/kgbb.Kata kunci : Ekstrak etanol, daun kerehau, toksisitas akut, OECD 420.

Abstract

Sindrom metabolik juga dikenal sebagai sindrom resistensi insulin. Prevalensi sindrom metabolisme secara global terus meningkat. Ada beberapa indikasi terkait sindrom metabolic yang patut diwaspadai. di antaranya adalah lingkar pinggang yang melebihi batas normal, tingginya tekanan darah, kadar trigliserida dalam darah, kadar glukosa dalam darah, dan rendahnya kadar HDL. Resiko terjadinya sindrom metabolik dipengaruhi oleh gaya hidup, stress yang berkepanjangan dan faktor genetic. Berdasarkan informasi yang diperoleh, kesadaran warga di Kp. Pangkalan RW.01 Desa Majasetra, Kecamatan Majalaya, Kabupaten Bandung akan kesehatan dan pola hidup sehat masih perlu ditingkatkan, oleh karena itu dilaksanakan Medical cek up (MCU) Mini Mobile untuk memberikan informasi terkait gejala sindrom metabolisme dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pola hidup sehat.

Abstract

The pandemic due to Covid-19 can cause problems in Indonesia, especially on health problems that are mostly experienced by people who located in the Sukarindik Village area, Tasikmalaya City. Therefore, in order to solve the problem that occurred in Sukarindik Village, Tasikmalaya, carried out the 2021 Thematic PPM KKN activity program through post-Covid-19 physical rehabilitation measures in the form of breathing exercises, relaxation, exercise, exercise and jogging. The implementation of these activities is carried out online with the method of implementing webinar activities using the Zoom application. The results showed that the people of Sukarindik Village would carry out regular exercise every week to maintain physical fitness, improve heart and lung function. In conclusion, education related to post-covid-19 physical rehabilitation for the community is important. Because it can accelerate the healing of symptoms exposed to COVID-19, improve the quality of daily activities and improve health in the Sukarndik Village Community.

Abstract

Diabetes adalah penyakit menahun (kronis) berupa gangguan metabolisme yang ditandai dengan kadar gula darah melebihi batas normal. Tanaman obat merupakan sumber bahan baku obat yang dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif dalam pengobatan diabetes mellitus. Salah satu suku dari tanaman yang memiliki potensi sebagai antidiabetes adalah tanaman dari suku cucurbitaceae. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui aktivitas antidiabetes pada ekstrak tanaman yang berasal dari suku cucurbitaceae dilihat dari senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung di dalam ekstrak, mekanisme kerja terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa darah, serta menentukan dosis efektif ekstrak sebagai antidiabetes dengan melakukan studi literatur. Pada penelitian ini diketahui bahwa ekstrak tanaman yang berasal dari suku cucurbitaceae memiliki aktivitas antidiabetes dengan dosis efektif 10 mg/KgBB hingga 9 gram/KgBB. Aktivitas antidiabetes pada ekstrak diketahui karena adanya kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder flavonoid, saponin, tanin, terpenoid, fenolik, β-karoten, vitamin C dan E, Charantin, vicine dan polypeptide – P insulin serta sitrullin. Ekstrak tanaman yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari 10 genus dan 17 spesies dari tanaman suku cucurbitaceae.

Abstract

Obesity is currently a disease with a prevalence that continues to increase every year and is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The relationship between obesity and inflammation is characterized by increased levels of TNF- which triggers inflammation. This study was conducted to determine the activity of katuk (Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr) leaves as anti-obesity and anti-inflammatory properties. The study was conducted with a preventive method on white male wistar rats aged 2-3 months and body weight of 180-200 g. The test animals were divided into 6 groups that were induced by high-fat and carbohydrate diets except the normal group and were measured for anti-obesity and anti-inflammatory parameters. The results showed that katuk (Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr) leaves can maintain activity as an anti-obesity and anti-inflammatory in test rats. Katuk leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 300 mg/kgBW has an effective activity as an anti-obesity, while at a dose of 150 mg/kgBW it has an anti-inflammatory activity.

Abstract

Kardiovaskular adalah Penyakit tidak menular yang menyerang masyarakat di negara maju hingga negara berkembang seperti Indonesia, salah satu dari penyakit kardiovaskular adalah hipertensi yang disebut sebagai penyumbang kematian terbanyak di dunia setiap tahunnya, seorang dengan tekanan darah abnormal dapat mengalami beberapa penyakit seperti gagal jantung, gagal ginjal, diabetes dan stroke. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi Carica Papaya dalam penanganan hipertensi dan perkembangan penelitian terhadap potensi Carica Papaya. Subjek review ini adalah artikel nasional dan internasional yang terindeks secara nasional dan international 10 tahun terakhir yang membahas kemampuan antihipertensi pada Carica Papaya dengan melakukan klasifikasi berdasarkan metode pengujian yang digunakan, mekanisme kerja senyawa kimia yang berperan aktif dalam aktivitas hipotensi dan bagian tumbuhan yang digunakan dalam pengujian. Pada studi literatur didapatkan bahwa Carica Papaya memiliki berbagai mineral dan metabolit sekunder yang mampu menurunkan tekanan darah melalu mekanisme yang mirip dengan obat konvensional, Carica Papaya memiliki senyawa saponin, alkaloid, flavonoid dan kalium yang mampu menurunkan tekanan darah dengan mekanisme vasodilatasi, ACE Inhibitor dan diuretik. Carica Papaya memiliki kemampuan antihipertensi yang baik pada seluruh bagian tumbuhan namun perlunya studi lebih lanjut secara spesifik pada senyawa aktif dan mekanisme kerja yang belum diteliti.

Abstract

Hypertension is a disease without symptoms that is very dangerous (silent killer) because it is often not realized. Conditions that are not controlled and occur continuously will cause a disease factor related to cardiovascular disease. Empirically, matoa leaves are commonly used as antihypertensive drugs. This study aims to determine the activity of the ethanolic extract of matoa leaves as a diuretic and antihypertensive. Diuretic testing was carried out for 6 hours with urine volume measurement every hour. Each test animal was given warm water as a loading dose, using a comparison (Furosemide 3.6 mg/KgBW) and the matoa leaf ethanol extract test group with doses of 150, 300, and 500 mg/KgBW. Antihypertensive testing was carried out in a preventive manner using Prednisone 1.5 mg/KgBW and NaCl 2%, comparison (Hydrochlorothiazide 2.25 mg/KgBW) and the test group ethanol extract of matoa leaves with doses of 150, 300, and 500 mg/KgBW. given orally for 14 days. The test parameters were urine volume, systolic blood pressure and diastolic pressure. The data obtained were analyzed using One Way ANOVA and Kruskall Wallis. The results showed that the ethanol extract of matoa leaves could increase urine output, and decrease systolic and diastolic blood pressure because it had a comparable activity with the comparison group (p<0.05). A dose of 150 mg/kgBW has the most effective activity as an antihypertensive.

Abstract

Ekonomi global mengalami goncangan yang cukup besar di prediksi resesi akan terjadi di tahun 2023. kemiskinan terancam meningkat, daya beli masysrakat mengalami penurunan. Berdasarkan UU No. 18 Tahun 2012 tentang Pangan, pemenuhan pangan adalah hak asasi setiap rakyat Indonesia. Negara berkewajiban menjamin terwujudnya ketahanan pangan Sampah di desa cibiru hilir ini masih belum terkelolah samapah organik ini akan dimanfaatkan sebagai media tanam , ekoenzim yang akan digunakan sebagai produk bermanfaat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan membantu masyarakat atau mitra pengabdian : Membantu untuk menggugah masyarat untuk memahami pentingnya penanganan sampah pada hulunya yaitu rumah tangga, Mengajak masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi dan berperan aktif dalam memanfaatkan sampah untuk menekan timbulan sampah di bank sampah ,Mewujudkan lingkungan yang bersih, sehat dan nyaman ,Mengajak masyarakat untuk mengubahnya menjadi produk bermanfaat .Kata kunci : Sampah, prodak bermanfaat
