Abstract

Introduction: Human health is the main key in carrying out activities or life activities. Humans will not always have a strong and healthy body as they age and will experience a decline in the ability of body functions. One of the physical changes that occurs is increased blood pressure or hypertension. Hypertension is a condition or conditions in which a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal limits that can cause pain and even death. A person is said to have hypertension if the blood pressure exceeds the normal limit, which is > 140/90 mmHg. Overcoming hypertension can be done in a variety of ways. Objectives: One of the efforts to reduce hypertension is to provide circulo massage treatment, which is one of the masse techniques that aims to improve peripheral blood circulation so as to help the recovery process and manage the rest of the body's metabolism and provide relaxation to the muscles and nerves. Method: The type of research used is with quantitative descriptive research methods. The research design uses the Pre-experimental design method. The research sample is part of the population. The sampling technique in this study uses total sampling, that is, the entire population is taken as a sample and the researcher does not determine the minimum size of the research sample. The sample in this study is 30 people. The instrument used to measure blood pressure is using a digital sphygmomanometer, to measure blood pressure both before and after the massage treatment. The data analysis techniques in this study are by normality test, homogeneity test, and difference test. Result: The results showed that the decrease in systole blood pressure from the average before the massage with the Circulo massage technique was 146.63 mmHg and after the Circulo massage the average systole blood pressure was 129.233 mmHg, so there was a change in the decrease of 17.4 mmHg. The decrease in diastole blood pressure from the average before the massage with the Circulo massage technique was 92.43 mmHg and after the Circulo massage the average diastole blood pressure became 80.90 mmHg, so there was a change in the decrease of 11.53 mmHg. Conclusion: It was concluded that there was a significant effect of circulo massage on changes in blood pressure in hypertensive patients in Yogyakarta therapy houses. Advice to hypertension sufferers in the Bantul Yogyakarta area in particular and the wider community in general that it is necessary to check blood pressure and pulse regularly so that it can be well controlled and can make circulo massage an alternative treatment.

Abstract

Sponsorship is an important part of global brands looking to increase participation and acceptance, especially through international sporting events such as the Tour de Borobudur 2023. This study aims to adds to the limited literature on sponsorship perspectives and offers practical implications for sports marketers, event organisers, and brand strategists looking to build meaningful and sustainable sponsorship partnerships, while addressing a gap in existing literature that has largely overlooked sponsor perspectives This study employed a descriptive quantitative research focused on the sponsors' perceptions of event-brand congruence, brand sincerity and brand exposure. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire administered to sponsoring organisations and analysed using descriptive statistics. The findings reveal that sponsors perceive a strong event-brand congruence, both in function and image, which enhances credibility and facilitates brand recall. Sincerity and brand authenticity are viewed as essential attributes that foster trust and shape stakeholders’ positive attitudes. Sponsors also place strong emphasis on sincerity, viewing authenticity and value alignment as essential for building trust and fostering emotional connections with audiences. Although brand exposure was perceived as moderate, sponsors expressed intentions to leverage future sponsorships to enhance visibility and reach. The results of this study showed a strong perception of functional and image congruence, indicating that consistency between sponsor and event can increase strategic value. Additionally, sponsors value honesty, seeking cooperation that reflects their brand's genuine values and helps build an emotional connection with the audience. Although current brand exposure levels were considered moderate, sponsors clearly intend to leverage future sponsorships to increase exposure, reflecting the principle of brand ubiquity.

Abstract

Background: The limited research on the determinants of performance in short-distance trail running in tropical environments is a major problem in understanding the influence of environmental conditions on runners' performance and pacing strategies. Objectives: This study aimed to examine the influence of race distance, sex, and age on trail running performance in the 5K and 10K categories of the Merapi Merbabu de Trail 2025.Methods: A retrospective observational race result analysis was conducted using official race data from the Merapi Merbabu de Trail 2025. The study included 429 runners (5K: n = 144; 10K: n = 285), consisting of 275 male and 154 female participants. The primary outcome variable was finish time (in minutes), while the independent variables included race, distance, sex, and age. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 26, including descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-tests, Cohen’s d effect sizes, and multiple linear regression to evaluate predictors of performance. Results: Results showed a significant difference in performance between race distances. The mean finish time for the 5K category was 152.8 ± 44.3 minutes, while the 10K category averaged 306.1 ± 74.3 minutes (t = -26.68, p < 0.001, Cohen’s d = 2.50). Male runners completed the 10K race faster than female runners (293 vs. 345 minutes). Regression analysis indicated that finish time increased by approximately 2–3 minutes per year of age, indicating a progressive decline in performance with increasing age. Conclusions: These findings indicate that race distance, sex, and age are significant determinants of trail running performance in tropical environments.

Abstract

Background: The lack of standardised rules and safety measures in traditional games limits their utility for structured physical activity and fitness promotion. In particular, the traditional Singkongan game, which involves wooden sticks, presents safety risks and diminishes its suitability for modern fitness contexts. Objectives: This study aimed to develop and examine the content validity of Singkoball as a sportified model of the traditional Singkongan game. Methods: A research and development design was employed, focusing on product development and expert validation. Four experts (two sports specialists, one linguist, and one graphic design expert) evaluated the product using structured validation instruments. Data were analysed using percentage-based validity criteria and inter-rater agreement. Results: The developed product demonstrated high content validity, with valid scores of 98.96% (sports experts), 88.90% (language experts), and 88.60% (design experts), resulting in an overall score of 92.15%. These findings indicate a high level of agreement regarding the clarity, safety, and usability of the developed model. Conclusion: Singkoball demonstrates robust content validity and feasibility as a culture-based model. However, its impact on motor skill development and engagement among children and adolescents has yet to be empirically established and requires rigorous field-based evaluation.

Abstract

Partnerships with companies or sponsorships cannot be separated in the implementation of sporting events; even sponsorship is a significant investment given by companies in the sports industry. However, every company has considerations before sponsoring a sporting event, one of the influencing factors is the attitude of the organizing committee to the company that is a potential sponsor. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance of the committee's attitude toward the company's decision to sponsor a sporting event. By using quantitative descriptive research and survey methods, this study collected data from 33 companies that met the criteria of having sponsored a sporting event and were willing to participate in the study by completing a willingness sheet. The data is taken from a questionnaire filled out by the Company Owner or the company's Marketing Department by first answering questions about the duration of work in the company. Then, respondents responded to statements that came from four indicators, namely the relationship between the committee and the company, the company's interest in the committee, the committee provided a sense of comfort for the company in working together, and the company felt benefited from working together, with the answer strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. After that, the data was analyzed using excel and shown in graph on percentages to explain that the indicator of comfort in working together plays the highest role with a total of 42.42% strongly agree and 48.48% agree. Indirectly, this facet provides information to future sports organizers to assist them in obtaining funding for sports events through a win-win situation or mutualistic relationship.

Abstract

Strenuous physical activity is able to cost muscle damage. In urban society, ten kilometers running has become a modern culture. It induces acute inflammation as a normal physiological response. Conversely, a foam roller is known as a self-myofascial release (SMR) technique which can be done individually. Previous studies stated that foam rolling (FR) could increase flexibility, and reduce muscle pain sensation. However, there is still a limited supply of scientific evidence to prove its positive effects, especially through biomarkers such as creatine kinase (CK). This study aims to elucidate the beneficial effects of a foam roller in CK concentration after 10 kilometers of running which induces DOMS. A quasi-repeated measures design was elected as an approach to conducting this study. The purposive sampling technique was used to obtain the subjects (n= 10). Creatine kinase measurements were performed before 10 km running and 3 days post running by using the COBAS INTEGRA 400 Plus Test (the UV-test concept). Repeated Measures ANOVA was used to determine the effect of FR on CK. Ten kilometers of running increased Total CK concentration, pre-test data was 146.2 ± 36.3 (U/L), and 24 hours was 452.3 ± 216.5 (U/L). Creatine Kinase decreased at 48 hours (300.6 ± 117.6 (U/L), and 72 hours (238.4 ± 67.5 (U/L) post-application of foam rolling. We conclude that long distance running increased significantly total CK, and foam rolling might decrease CK concentration in the blood.
