Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the difference in  adversity quotient between students who learn to use the Autograph learning media and students who receive conventional learning. The formulation of the problem in this study is "Is there a difference between the adversity quotient of students who learn to use Autograph learning media and students who receive conventional learning?". This research is a quasi-experimental research, where the teacher plays a direct role in the learning process and the researcher acts as an observer. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII MTs Al-Arifin Rahuning totaling 100 people and as a sample of class VIII-1 totaling 28 people. While the object of this research is the adversity quotient of students towards learning mathematics. Collecting data in this study using observation sheets and adversity quotient. To find out the results of this study, it was carried out using the t test and to determine whether or not there were differences in the adversity quotient of students towards learning mathematics. Based on the results of data analysis carried out, it was concluded that there was a difference in the adversity quotient between students who learned to use the Autograph learning media and students who received conventional learning with a tcount= 8.29 greater than ttable at the 5% significance level and significant 1% of 2.14 and 2.96.Keyword: Autograph, Adversity Quotient, Mathematic educationAbstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan adversity quotient antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan media pembelajaran Autograph dan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah “Apakah ada perbedaan antara adversity quotient siswa yang belajar menggunakan media pembelajaran Autograph dengan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional?”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu, dimana guru berperan langsung dalam proses pembelajaran dan peneliti bertindak sebagai pengamat. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII MTs Al-Arifin Rahuning yang berjumlah 100 orang dan sebagai sampel kelas VIII-1 yang berjumlah 28 orang. Sedangkan objek penelitian ini adalah adversity quotient siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi dan adversity quotient. Untuk mengetahui hasil penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t dan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan adversity quotient siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan adversity quotient antara siswa yang dibelajarkan menggunakan media pembelajaran Autograph dan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional denganhitung= 8,29 lebih besar dari ttabel sebesar 5 % tingkat signifikansi dan signifikan 1% sebesar 2,14 dan 2,96.

Abstract

Technological progress should contribute many benefits to human welfare, especially in the education aspect. In the pandemic era, teachers are forced to be technology literate by implementing online learning. However, in reality, the use of technology in online learning becomes an obstacle because optimal learning is not achieved specifically as the government hopes. This study discusses the analysis of axiology in online learning and uses the analysis method of literature review (literature research) from several relevant sources. The purpose of this article is to provide additional knowledge and learning for teachers so that later in the education unit they are able to actualize their abilities to produce competent students according to the expectations of the nation. The results of the literature study show that online learning does not support the achievement of learning aspects when viewed in axiological studies related to ethical and aesthetic values. Students still have difficulties and have problems in online learning so that they have not given birth to personal learning motivation and lack the creativity to develop the knowledge that has been obtained from teachers through online learning. Keyword: Axiology, Technology, Online Learning..

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students at uptd sdn 014685 siumbut baru in solving fraction operation problems. The research subjects consisted of 16 students who were present during the activity. The instrument used consisted of three story-problem items that included various fraction operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). The results showed that most students experienced difficulties in determining the appropriate operation to use and in simplifying fractions. students also faced challenges in identifying important information in the story problems. Based on the analysis using polya’s problem-solving steps, the main difficulties occurred in the stages of understanding the problem and planning the solution. These findings indicate that students’ abilities in solving fraction operations are still categorized as low. this study recommends the use of visual media and contextual exercises to improve students’ understanding of fraction operation concepts. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 16 siswa yang hadir pada saat pelaksanaan kegiatan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tiga soal cerita yang mencakup operasi pecahan (penjumlahan, pengurangan, perkalian, dan pembagian). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan operasi hitung yang tepat untuk menyderhanakan pecahan. Siswa juga mengalami hambatan dalam mengidentifikasi informasi penting pada soal cerita. Berdasarkan analisis menggunakan langkah pemecahan masalah menurut (Polya), kesulitan utama terjadi pada tahap memahami masalah dan merencanakan penyelesaian. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam melakukan operasi hitung pecahan masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan media visual serta latihan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep operasi pecahan. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe students' mathematical communication skills in solving comparison problems. A total of 32 sixth-grade students at AlWashliyah 80 Kisaran Private Elementary School were the subjects of this study. Data were collected by giving three essay questions focusing on comparison material. The results of the analysis showed that only a small percentage of students, namely 18.75%, had high mathematical communication skills. Another 25% were in the moderate category, while the majority of students, 56.25%, were classified as having low communication skills. Students in the high category were able to meet all the expected indicators, while students in the moderate category were only able to master two indicators. Students in the low category were generally only able to achieve one indicator. These findings confirm that mathematical communication skills play an important role in helping students understand problems and solve math questions more effectively.Keywords: Analysis; ability; mathematical communication; comparison.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal perbandingan. Sebanyak 32 siswa kelas VI di SD Swasta AlWashliyah 80 Kisaran menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui pemberian tiga soal uraian yang berfokus pada materi perbandingan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa hanya sebagian kecil siswa, yakni 18,75%, yang memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada kategori tinggi. Sebanyak 25% lainnya berada pada kategori sedang, sedangkan mayoritas siswa, yaitu 56,25%, tergolong memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang rendah. Siswa yang termasuk kategori tinggi mampu memenuhi seluruh indikator yang diharapkan, sementara siswa yang berada pada kategori sedang hanya dapat menguasai dua indikator. Adapun siswa dengan kategori rendah umumnya hanya mampu mencapai satu indikator saja. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis memegang peran penting dalam membantu siswa memahami persoalan dan menyelesaikan soal matematika secara lebih efektif.Kata kunci: Analisis; kemampuan; komunikasi matematis; perbandingan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the cognitive abilities of students in learning addition and subtraction operations with carrying and borrowing in Grade II at SD Negeri 010110 Ambalutu. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through tests on students abilities in performing addition and subtraction operations. The subjects of this study were Grade II students of SD Negeri 010110 Ambalutu, while the object of the research was the teaching and learning of addition and subtraction with carrying and borrowing. The population of this study consisted of 26 students. The collected data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that students mastery of addition and subtraction operations with carrying and borrowing is uneven. Many students are not careful when counting objects in pictures. Some students do not pay sufficient attention to the images, resulting in counts that are either less or more than the actual number. Several students also make mistakes in writing the forms of addition or subtraction with carrying and borrowing. In addition, some students forget to write the carry-over number when the sum of the units exceeds 10. Overall, students cognitive abilities in solving addition and subtraction with carrying and borrowing are in the fair category. The most common mistakes occur in questions that combine numbers and pictures, as students are not yet able to transform visual information into mathematical symbols. Therefore, the use of concrete media, routine practice, and a step-by-step approach is needed to help students improve their ability to perform structured arithmetic operations.

Abstract

The concept of fractions has a fairly broad scope of implementation in everyday life. This study aims to understand the understanding of the concept of fractions in grade 4 students of SD Negeri 010091 Kisarang Baru. Fraction material is one of the basic mathematics topics that often causes difficulties for students, because it involves understanding parts of a whole. The objects in this study were grade 4 students of SD Negeri 010091 Kisaran Baru. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach in data analysis. with written test instruments, observations, and in-depth interviews with 26 grade 4 students. The purpose of this study is to help grade 4 students overcome difficulties in understanding the concept of fractions in mathematics learning. Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed at exploring broadly how fifth grade students at MIT AL BAROKAH Tanjung Balai build conceptual understanding related to comparative material through a qualitative approach that utilizes information collection from conceptual understanding tests and unstructured interviews which are then processed through the stages of data summarization, presentation of findings and final interpretation referring to the thoughts of Miles and Huberman. The results of data processing show that the majority of the 12 fifth grade students at MIT AL BAROKAH show tendencies as described below: (1) The level of mastery of mathematical concepts in the comparison material shows that there are 4 students in the high category, then 2 students are in the medium category and 6 students are in the low category based on the results of mapping their abilities; (2) The level of mathematical concept comprehension ability with detailed indicators of restating a concept related to understanding the relationship between mathematical topics, indicators providing examples and non-examples of mathematical concepts related to applying mathematical concepts to other scientific disciplines, and indicators applying related concepts in everyday life.Keyword: conceptual understanding; comparison; basic education.Abstrak: Penelitian ini diarahkan untuk mengungkap secara mendalam kemampuan pemahaman konsep para siswa kelas V di MIT AL BAROKAH Tanjung Balai mengenai materi perbandingan melalui pendekatan kualitatif yang menghimpun data dari tes pemahaman konsep dan wawancara bebas yang selanjutnya diproses dengan langkah peringkasan penyajian serta simpulan akhir mengikuti gagasan Miles dan Huberman. Temuan proses analisis memperlihatkan bahwa mayoritas dari 12 peserta didik kelas V MIT AL BAROKAH menampakkan kecenderungan sebagaimana dijelaskan berikut: (1) Tingkatan pemahaman konsep matematika dalam materi perbandingan memperlihatkan bahwa ada 4 peserta didik pada tingkatan tinggi kemudian 2 peserta didik pada tingkatan sedang serta 6 peserta didik pada tingkatan rendah setelah dilakukan pemetaan kemampuan; (2) Tingkatan pemahaman konsep matematika meliputi uraian indikator tentang kemampuan menyatakan kembali gagasan matematika yang berhubungan dengan pengenalan relasi antar topik matematika kemudian indikator yang menunjukkan kecakapan memberikan contoh maupun bukan contoh dari konsep matematika yang terkait dengan penerapan konsep dalam berbagai cabang ilmu serta indikator kemampuan mengaplikasikan konsep tersebut dalam kegiatan hidup sehari hari.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep; perbandingan; pendidikan dasar.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to analyze the difficulties experienced by third-grade students in understanding the concept of multiplication at SDN 010106 Sei Silau Barat. The study involved 19 students as research subjects and employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through written tests. The tests were designed to identify the types of difficulties students faced in learning the basic concept of multiplication, such as errors in memorizing multiplication facts, inability to associate multiplication with repeated addition, and mistakes in applying the concept to word problems. The findings revealed that most students still struggled to connect the concept of multiplication with the concrete meaning of repeated processes. This indicates that students have not yet developed a strong conceptual understanding of multiplication and tend to rely on rote memorization instead of meaningful comprehension. Furthermore, it was found that the main causes of these difficulties were insufficient conceptual understanding, learning habits focused on memorization, and the limited use of contextual learning media that could help visualize the concept. Therefore, it is suggested that teachers implement more concrete and contextual teaching approaches, such as using real-life examples, manipulatives, and visual aids, to help students grasp the meaning of multiplication deeply and meaningfully, fostering better understanding and long-term retention of mathematical concepts.Keyword: difficulties; students;multiplication;understanding;contextual.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan yang dialami siswa kelas III dalam memahami konsep perkalian di SDN 010106 Sei Silau Barat. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 19 orang siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes tertulis. Tes tersebut dirancang untuk mengidentifikasi jenis kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa dalam memahami konsep dasar perkalian, seperti kesalahan dalam menghafal fakta perkalian, ketidakmampuan mengaitkan perkalian dengan penjumlahan berulang, serta kesalahan dalam penerapan konsep pada soal cerita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menghubungkan konsep perkalian dengan makna konkret dari proses berulang. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa faktor utama penyebab kesulitan tersebut adalah kurangnya pemahaman konseptual, kebiasaan belajar yang mengandalkan hafalan, serta keterbatasan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang kontekstual. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disarankan agar guru menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih konkret dan kontekstual untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep perkalian secara mendalam. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan dalam pengembangan strategi pembelajaran matematika yang lebih efektif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa sekolah dasar.Kata Kunci: kesulitan; perkalian; siswa; pemahaman; kontekstual.

Abstract

Abstract: Essentially, students, especially those in elementary school, must possess strong mathematical problem-solving skills. Mathematical problem-solving skills are essential because they positively impact their lives, such as managing diverse challenges. The purpose of this study was to analyze elementary school students' mathematical problem-solving abilities using a qualitative descriptive research method. However, this study employed a case study approach. Written tests were used to collect data. The subjects were 21 sixth-grade students at MIs Islamiyah Sei Silau Timur. The results of the study indicated that 7 students, or 33%, had low understanding, 5 students, or 54%, had moderate understanding, and 9 students, or 93%, had high understanding. Based on these results, students with low ability have not been able to solve integer operation problems well, so they need direction in solving the problems. Keywords: Problem-solving, Students Abstrak: Pada dasarnya peserta didik terutama ketika berada di tingkatan sekolah dasar, harus memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan baik. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sangat dibutuhkan karena memberikan dampak positif bagi kehidupan mereka seperti mengelola permasalahan yang berbeda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan peserta didik sekolah dasar dalam memecahkan masalah matematis dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Tetapi dalam penelitian ini pendekatan yang digunakan merupakan studi kasus. Tes tertulis kami gunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VI Mis Islamiyah Sei Silau Timur dengan jumlah 21 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian perolehan pemecahan masalah matematis yaitu 33% atau 7 peserta didik termasuk kedalam kategori dengan tingkat pemahaman yang rendah , 24% atau 5 peserta didik dengan tingkat pemahaman sedang, serta 43% atau 9 peserta didik dengan tingkat pemahaman tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil ini maka peserta didik dengan kemampuan rendah belum mampu menyelesaikan soal operasi bilangan bulat dengan baik, sehingga memerlukan arahan dalam penyelesaian soal. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the critical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students at MIS Alwashliyah Tanjung Balai on three-dimensional shapes concepts. Using qualitative descriptive method, data were collected from 18 students through observation, interviews, and post-learning tests based on three indicators: interpretation, analysis, and inference. Results showed students' critical thinking abilities were at moderate level, with only 16.67% achieving full mastery. Main difficulties were in analysis and inference indicators, manifested in identifying shape properties and drawing valid conclusions. Students frequently confused cube and cuboid characteristics and failed in contextual calculations. These weaknesses stem from poor spatial visualization and limited understanding of abstract concepts. The study recommends implementing concrete media-based learning methods to optimize critical thinking development in spatial geometry learning. Penelitian merekomendasikan implementasi metode pembelajaran berbasis media konkret untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran geometri ruang.
